My 9 year old is not big on reading, so it's hard to find a book to spark his interest. He loved The Last Kids on Earth and The Zombie Parade! While reading these he would exceed his 20 minutes of daily reading.

This is by far the best children's book (the first one as well) I have ever read to my 2 children (8 and 11, boy and girl) I read to them by lantern light after turning all the lights off and they LOVE it. The author has a great sense of humor and really connect with my children. Please keep making these. as long as you do, I will keep buying. I had this one pre-ordered as soon as we finished the first.

If anyone knows of some books very comparable to this one, please let me know, ill probably look into Max's other books as well.

My son was so excited to get this book after he read the first one. Once he started reading, he couldn't put it down. I got it for him right before we left for vacation and he read it on the plane ride and then read it a second time during our vacation. He said it was that good. He said it was a really great book and he loved it as much as the first one.

This book is about the last kids on earth who have to fight monsters and zombies. These kids are still scared of these creatures, but they are used to fighting them as they are the last survivors on the planet. My favorite part of this book was when Jack fought the Wormungulous, a giant worm-like creature. That is because it is the first battle in the book and the action for this scene is really cool. What makes it better is that there are AWESOME drawings! My favorite character in this book is, of course, Jack the zombie hunter. Will Jack and his friends ever defeat all the monsters? If you don’t know, read the book and you’ll find out.

I give the book 5 stars because it was SUPER ACTION PACKED. I recommend this book to kids who like adventure/zombie monster stories.

Jack Sullivan and his three best friends may be the last kids left on Earth. But, there are the zombies. Oh, and the monsters. When Jack realizes that the zombies are disappearing, he decides to get to the bottom of it. He and his friends embark on a quest and discover a plethora of strange things on the way, including a giant wormungulous, that has apparently decided to live at the nearby mall, a popular pizza parlor that has now become the new hotspot hangout for monsters, and a new rumor, one that just happens to mention that the destroyer of worlds would like to come to Earth. It’s up to Jack and his friends to figure out the mystery of the disappearing zombies and save the earth from being destroyed.

What I liked: pretty much everything. The illustrations are actually part of the story. For example, you’re reading a passage and the picture is there in place of a paragraph, so you have to read the illustration to understand what happens next. The main character is great, flaws and all. And, of course, the story has zombies AND monsters, so how could it not be amazing?

What I did not like: some of the other characters were just a tad bit flat, especially June. But, since the story is told in first person through Jack’s voice, it’s fine.

A fast and enjoyable read.

5 out of 5 stars

My son is in 4th grade and has dyslexia. Reading is often a chore for him but he LOVED the first in this series. He just told me "The Last Kids on Earth" is the first book he has ever enjoyed reading and kept his attention from start to finish. I am super excited to give him the second book!

So I bought my son the 1st book. He liked it. So I bought him this. He could not stop reading it. The day it arrived he reached more than half the book already. This is a good read for kids who enjoy zombie movies, shows and etc. It's about kids trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. Basically walking dead kid version.
