Dolores Cannon has a way of writing that makes one believe they have been enlightened. I have read all of her books and this book calms me and renews my faith on "why" we are here on Earth. This book is spiritual, but with no particular religious bias. I no longer have a fear of death, but only a sense that I am here in this life to fulfill my purpose for living. I would recommend reading all of Dolores Cannon's books. Each one is special and very different, but the messages are always the same. Great bedtime reading.

Delores Cannon scores again, moving on from past live regressions to speaking with her clients' spirits while they're between lives. It's hard to believe that we can have our questions of what happens when we die answered, but apparently it's true. I've also read Michael Newton's book on life between lives and I find it amazing that both authors' work is saying basically the same thing.

I believe that this type of regression work has only come about in the last few years, and after thousands of years of religions claiming to know `the way' it is truly remarkable that we now can hear from client after client what happens when we die. This book, Between Lives, is filled with the answers to our most important questions.

Why are we here? Do Heaven and Hell really exist? Why are some people's lives filled with nothing but pain, while other people seem to live charmed lives? How can any God consider this a fair way to run a universe?

Cannon's book answers these questions and many more in an easy to understand way that cuts to the heart of what matters. Another amazing thing is that this book encompasses all religions. We hear from spirits who live on the `other side', instead of through prophets on our side who might contaminate their message with their own humanity. If you want to know more about the spirit-side, where we truly come from, and what in the world we're doing mucking around in this seemingly sane world, read Cannon's book and get the common sense answer to the deepest questions mankind can ask.

I found this information both reassuring and reaffirming. It was comforting when I thought of my mother's death. I was amazed at the difference in how we mortals see things and how our souls see things when in the spirit realm.

While on my spiritual journey I encountered this book and am so very grateful. It allowed me to connect the dots to so many of my own questions. I still have many questions but this book has freed my mind so I can grow.

I believe in reincarnation and also that past life regressions can deliver great information from beyond this realm, but this book doesn't offer a very truthful message in my opinion. It seems that many of the people under hypnosis are merely drawing off of their own austere ideas about karma and spirituality which are based on the strict social structures of the (manipulated) religions and cultures of this world, not on spiritual truths. Some of the subjects, a minority, seem to be in alignment, but most are not. For example, one particularly long passage from a subject called John talks about how souls are shipped off to Earth against their will so that they can "suffer" by starving to death in Ethiopia to "repay their past lives of indulgences." This would "force them into realizing they need to grow spiritually" according to the subject. Yuck!

I really wanted to like this book, but I regret buying it now because its purporting all of these washed out, negative ideas about karma and we're supposed to just believe it because its Dolores Cannon. I don't care who is interviewing the subject; I know from my own intuitions that reincarnation is a conscious choice, and I don't think its very responsible or honest to try to scare people into believing in this sick punitive system of retribution called "karma," which is just a fabricated idea used to manipulate people into fear, making them easier to control. That is what the major religions of the world have done. We are all empowered beautiful beings of Source energy experiencing the illusion of "separation" for the expansive funness of it! And WE are the masters of our destiny, we are not being prodded, tested, schooled, and having our wrists slapped by some spiritual principle on the other side. That is some wacko throwback Earth trauma coming through the subjects under hypnosis, in my opinion.

I'm not saying Dolores Cannon is a fraud, because I'm sure she's really trying to do her best to reach people and explore the nonphysical realms. But ultimately, this material thats coming through and getting published is fabricated out of an old paradigm - the paradigm of surrendering to authority, fearing punishment, and striving for spiritual perfection.

Just be in the moment, experience your life fully, embrace your challenges, even the least fortunate person has something to be grateful for. You chose this life for a reason, not because you had to repay spiritual debt or answer to spiritual authorities, but for your own unique reasons. Ultimately we are all One endless entity. Knowing you would exist forever, wouldn't you want to play around, experience many different lives, some of them very challenging? There's ultimately no judgement, punishment, or hierarchies in the eternal One. Those things come from illusion, which is where I feel some of these subjects are lost - in illusions borrowed from hierarchical, manipulative social structures.

This is a good example of Dolores Cannon's work. I've been a skeptic most of my life and this book had me quite convinced that our consciousness is separate from our bodies -- that includes the brain. It's a good read. I'll read it again!

Fascinating.

I always felt there was more to our existence than living 4 score and 10 and this book has completely proven my inner most feelings.

The conversations written within this novel completely changed my life for the better and have assisted greatly with my understanding of our personal journeys and have renewed my belief in having faith to continue on my own journey in the best way possible and to share my knowledge with others in times of personal crises.

I enjoyed this book because it was easy to read and I felt it answered or made me think about the place we go when we pass. I am aware of this line of thinking so it reaffirmed that belief. The book encouraged us to think about how we can grow in our life on earth. To look at events in life as a learning experience for ones self and those who are around us. I believe it did a good job encouraging us to not be judgemental to others or ourselves because it will look quite different in the spiritual realm.

For many years I have been searching for answers to who I am, where I come from, what is the purpose of my life and what would happen when I die. During this quest, I have read over 450 books published in the western world about research in this field.

Without any doubt, I would rank Between Death & Life by Dolores Cannon amongst my Top 3 favorite books. It is well written and has helped me in getting many answers I was looking for. I highly recommend it to people who are in a similar quest as I am.

The books that I have read to date can be classified into five broad types. First types are books that are based on information provided by psychics or clairvoyants such as Edgar Cayce, Ross Peterson, Sylvia Brown etc. The second types are books written by people or mediums who have the extraordinary ability to communicate with the world beyond. This includes books such as Interview with an Angel, Messages from Michael, Talking to Heaven and Reaching to Heaven by James Van Praagh, books written by James Edward etc. Third type are books written totally by a directed force, commonly known as Automated Writing, where the source of its intelligence and the propellant which directs the pencil or typing keys is unperceivable by any of our five physical senses. These include books such as The World Before and A World Beyond by Ruth Montgomery. The fourth type are books based on information received from hypnosis sessions of thousands of individuals. Notable amongst these are Journey of the Souls and Destiny of the Souls by Michael Newton, Between Death and Life by Dolores Cannon, Past Lives Future Lives by Dr. Dr. Bruce Goldberg, Life between Life by Dr. Joel L. Whitton, Many Lives Many Mansions by Dr. Brian L. Weiss etc. The fifth type contains books written after extensive research on Near Death Experience (NDE) of American citizens. According to 1990 Gallup survey, 35% of people on verge of death experience NDE and over 8 million people in USA had NDE. Notable amongst this type are books written by Dr. Raymond Moody, Dr. Melvin Moarse, Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, Dr. George Ritchie, Kenneth Ring Ph.D., PMH Altwater, Craig R. Lundahl Ph.D (The Eternal Journey), Betty J. Eadie (Embraced by the Light) and Damion Brinkley's personal account of near death experience.

What was fascinating to me was the consistency of information presented by Dolores Cannon and all other authors on Purpose of Life, Laws of Karma and Reincarnation.

This non-fiction account of numerous interviews held with people under hypnosis contains an interesting look at the possibility that there is something after death. There appears to be a general consensus among the subjects that there is a learning experience that takes place after death that helps prepare one for the next life beyond the present one. It is somewhat repetitive at times but still an interesting take on what is beyond the current reality that we know.

Comprehensive and thought provoking, great book. In my view gives a lot of the answers if you are a follower of this kind of material. It's a book that's goes into a great amount of depth, one that you will enjoy reading more than once. This goes onto my "Keep for Ever and Reference" list. Dolores, thank you.

I think this book is ok for someone who is just getting introduced to the concept of life between lives. However, after having read similar books by Michael Newton, this one was a disappointment to me. Too basic, doesn't go deep enough. I would highly recommend Newton's books instead.

After reading "Jesus and the Essenes" by Delores Cannon, I bought "Between Life and Death", anticipating another interesting read. However, my gut feeling response to this book was not so positive. I've read many books on the subject of what happens after physical death, but this one struck me as too smooth, too edited, contrived. The excuses made for Hitler's actions made me mentally gag - as if the horrors he created through his twisted mind were actually not his doing at all, but were somehow his father's fault. I will admit I didn't read the whole section dealing with this, only got through a page or so before becoming disgusted to the point of just closing the book, and eventually passing it on to another reader, without comment, who may see it in a gentler light.

I really enjoyed this book!!!! It is interesting and thought provoking. I'd suggest the reader read Michael Newton s books on past life regression first if you are an analtical/scientific left brain individual as he examines past life regressions using the scientific method. For you right brained individuals, I'd say jump right in! I'd also like to suggest to the reader to realize that the info reported by the subject is only as good as the knowledge of the subject! Should subjects reports vary, it is likely due to the varying levels of knowledge held by the subjects. You Don't have to agree with it to examine it as a model! But the more you contemplate it, the more some pieces of the puzzle may appear to fall into place! Eather way, by the time your through you might find yourself wanting what ever it is the subjects are drinking!!! But if you possess an open mind, you'll enjoy this book! If not, it will likely be a waste of your time!

First I must say that the sub-title of this book is a misnomer, since it comprises conversations with not one spirit but many spirits. But this is a bagatelle, of course.

The book presents conversations between Cannon and various regressed subjects about the death experience, the "greeters", a near death experience, the "schools", "the grand tour", different levels of existence, so-called "bad" lives, guides, God and Jesus, Satan, possession and demons, ghosts and poltergeists, planning and preparation, the general council, imprinting, walk-ins and the return trip. What more could you want to know about? - this is pretty comprehensive information.

Re the grand tour, here we are introduced to the Temple of Wisdom Complex on the spirit plane, which contains the Temple of Healing, the Tapestry Room and the Library. Souls passing over are cleansed by means of various coloured lights in the Temple of Healing, and even souls still in the physical body can visit here and be healed. The tapestry is ALIVE and shows all lives that have ever been lived, each life represented by a thread in the tapestry. It shows how all souls are connected, how all lives are interwoven. "The absolute oneness of Humanity is represented by the Tapestry." The tapestry feels extremely familiar to me - I feel strongly affected emotionally by its description in the book. I seem to remember actually seeing it, perhaps in a dream. The library is another amazing place, containing knowledge about all subjects. We learn about the various astral planes - lower, middle and upper. Most souls come to the mid-astral plane.

In the chapter on different levels of existence, we learn that the level of the Earth is considered a fifth level, while you find elementals on the first level, these containing a basic energy of pure emotions and energies. However, they have a "remarkable" future. The second level contains beings that are protectors of the trees and hills. I can't find anything about the third and fourth levels. I find this chapter slightly confusing.

The chapter entitled "Imprinting" presents a totally new concept for me. Imprinting is withdrawing information about the past life experiences of others and having this information imprinted on one's soul. The imprint would feel as though one had actually experienced the life in question. These "fake" (my appellation) past life experiences provide the person with a point of reference, something to relate to. The regressed subject states "If one were to come to this planet without the aid of imprints, we would be totally lost."

Re walk-ins, Cannon also presents me personally with slightly more information than I previously had. The exchange of souls referred to in this phenomenon is something agreed to by both parties, the soul that wants out because, for example, it feels that it has taken on more than it can manage, and the incoming soul. The point of the walk-in experience as opposed to the person just "dying" in the usual way, is that the body is not sacrificed. (There is no need to do so, when there's nothing wrong with it.) What was new for me was the statement that "the person. the physical entity" is generally unaware of the change of souls. The memories of the previous soul have "been absorbed, so you ARE that person." Bargains made by the previous soul are fulfilled by the incoming soul, since if certain obligations were not met, this would affect too many lives. But the new soul does not "carry the records" of the previous soul's other incarnations, only its own. I find it fascinating that the physical entity is not conscious of having acquired another soul (and lost its previous one). In the case presented for us, the subject stated subsequent to the regression that she felt she was the same person, though her parents remarked that she had changed in the year following the soul transfer.

The book contains much that I haven't even touched upon. I strongly advise you to read it. It offers valuable knowledge, though less voluminous than many of Cannon's other books.

Upon becoming a Hypnotherapist in 1995 I did a Past Life Regression on my daughter and wasn't receiving the answers I thought I should be getting. I was at a local Psychic Center telling some friends about this when out of no where off the book shelves flies 3 books into the floor.(no one was even near those shelves). Everyone looked at me and said there's your answers.

When I walked over to the books lying in the floor they were all by Author Dolores Cannon and one of the just happen to be this book, Between Death & Life. I bought all three books, took them home and started reading. I cant's say that at that time I believed everything that I read, but after my own experiences as a Hypnotherpaist over the past 10 years, I can honestly say today that the truth is the truth whether we like to hear it or not. I ahve since becoem a believer and I know for a fact things are not always what they seem to be.

In August of 2004 I was privileged to take a class where Dolores teaches her regression technique. Through this class I learned that I already have my own way of getting the same information Dolores does through her clients, just in a different way. Thanks to Dolores, her books and her teachings I am now in the process of publishing my own book, a CD and a cassette tape of a guided meditation for healing to help everyone access healing, knowledge and to resolve issues from present and past lives.

I can honestly say to anyone who is a non-believer, you must open your mind and heart to receive the truth and you must be ready for it. I know I wasn't at first, but when it happens to you it's a whole different story. Have a regression done for yourself and see what transpires. What do you have to loose?

Thank you Dolores and God Bless You!

Having been on a spiritual quest since a near death experience in 2001, I have read all sorts of books in hopes of finding answers to the many questions I had concerning that experience. Personally, I find those individuals who write about clients that have undergone regressive hypnosis highly credible. I was very impressed with the work Dr. Michael Newton described in his books Journey of Souls, and Destiny of Souls. I had never heard of Dolores Cannon or any of her books until I went into a spiritual store in Lake City, Florida. There on a shelf was a book by her that caught my eye. After reading the outside and a few paragraphs inside of it I was hooked. I always look to compare what different sources have to say about the same subjects. Let me assure you that what is contained in this book is highly credible in my humble opinion and matches up with what many other sources I have researched have said about life after death. In fact I no longer even use the term death. I prefer to say transitioned when referring to someone who is not physically with us on planet earth any longer. Keep an open mind and enjoy the read, for this writer does have a way of clearly describing her sessions in a way that will be easy to understand.

"When the student is ready, the teacher appears" (or something along those lines). Dolores Cannon appeared on my radar exactly when I was ready and I am enjoying all of her books. She tells us what is and what happens, thru her clients. Another teacher will help us mature and prepare for the next step. Ervin Laszlo and Eckhart Tolle, for example.

I really couldn't force myself to read all of this book. The parts I did read, I found poorly written and shallow. To compare it to the books of Michael Newton is like comparing a grade-school composition to a post-graduate thesis. I think Ms. Cannon is on the right track, but she needs a lot more background in the field of psychology and hypnotherapy for starters. I frankly do not feel she is doing her clients any great favors and I think a lot of her interpretations are not logical. I felt disappointed with this book and would not recommend it.

It is not only a very useful book towards the development and expansion of one's conciousness but it is also a fascinating read describing mind-bending concepts.
Fascinating and practical!
