Phillips is clearly a talented descriptive writer. He paints vivid pictures of the world and the actions his characters are taking. In a battle scene, he rivals some of the best fantasy and sci-fi writers out there. Unfortunately, his characters are simple and poorly developed and the story just isn't terribly compelling.

I love this author’s work. I have read with delight everything he’s written, over and over. I was disappointed in the Endarian Prophecy series. The characters don’t feel fully fleshed out. It’s like the series was one book chopped into 3 segments, and still incomplete.

414 YOR, Lord Kragan (Kaleal) & CO Charna’s Army would march from Tar-Endar Pass.
High Priest Jorthain (protectors) Army would follow close behind.
They might have to deal with Queen Elan’s army.
Legend has it the Scroll of Landrel foretells the destruction of the kingdom of Tal.
Lorness Carol Rafel (witch) the High Lord Rafel’s (warlord) daughter who had escaped captivity would also 1-day rule.
The Endarian elite time-mist warriors await their arrival.
414 YOR, Misty Hollow, Glacier Mountains. Arn was the only wielder of the Slaken (knife, elementals: Vatra fire, Voda water, Zemlja earth, Zrak air).
King Rodan (Tal) had died & King Gilbert (son) now ruled.
Blade (assassin) & Lorness Carol Rafel had become quite fond of each other but nothing prevailed.
Blalock (magic wielder) became King Gilbert’s primary advisor instead of Blade.
Lorness Carol Rafel studied magic under Hawthorne (mentor/BMF) & Blalock was sent to kill her.
414 YOR, Areana Vale (beautiful cliff-lined valley). Princess Kimber “Kim” (Endarian life-shifter) was having a very bad dream.
John (husband) did his best to comfort her.
High Lord Rafel (human father), Battle Master Gaar, & Captain Hanibal were discussing their next battle plans.
414 YOR, Endless Valley. George Dalton (killed) led a Ranger scout patrol that consisted of: Harry Budka (killed), Jim Clemens (wounded, killed), Sam Jacobson (outrider, killed), Bill Harrison (outrider, wounded), & Lord Alan (20, son/Carol’s brother).
It was nightfall & they had followed the enemy’s encampment.
Lord Alan attending to the horses had spotted the vorgs.
Arrow’s flew & axes & swords were wielded.
Those that attacked were killed. But there were 100’s more at their campsite.
415 YOR, High Lord Jared Rafel, & Earl Coldain gazed out at the Areana’s Vale.
Vorg carcasses omitted thick greasy plumes that stunk to high heaven.
The army of Tal had done well in this battle.
Queen Elan welcomed home 1,000’s of Endarian warriors.
R&R was much deserved/needed.
Kingdom of Endar. Queen Elan had assigned Galad his next mission.
Very impressive resume. Hooah to you & thank you for serving your country.
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written fantasy book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great fantasy movie, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini TV series. Not my normal read but I will still rate it at 5 stars.

This third installment of this previously-entertaining series is a significant letdown from the first two entrees. This book is little more than a drawn-out description three separate battles occuring simultaneously, all part of a single war engaged on three fronts. It is tedious and predictable. Further, there is almost no plot. The main character of the first two books is nearly forgotten, with little (possibly no) dialogue. The entire book feels rushed to publish. It is a shame - the first two entrees in this series showed promise, and I was hoping to see the writing quality improve as the series did. Sadly, it declined.

The battle between the forces of good and evil continues in the third volume of this engrossing and addictive series and Lorness Carol learns to accept her magical powers and use them to their full, awesome potential. Supported by her lover, Arn, and their small group of loyal friends, they continue their fight against the evil Kragan and his massed forces, but not without the loss of some valued allies in the process.
A thoroughly entertaining and skillfully crafted fantasy saga and I look forward to the next volume.

As with the previous two books in this series, "Curse of the Chosen" reading it did not last very long. Not because it was a short book but because I could hardly put it down until it was suddenly finished. I have completely enjoyed the three book that I have read of "The Edarian Prophecy". I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

This was the best book so far. A great commander just need to organize a war. A great author has to make you see , feel , hear , smell and experience it though the characters . I have never been drawn towards battles but this was so well choreographed I couldn’t help but be fully drawn in.

Another spellbinding book in the series....
The plot has your heart racing as you follow the various story lines... While you would never do it, each chapter leaves you begging for more and tempting you to read ahead to put your anticipation of the answers you seek to bed !! You cannot read this without being impressed by the mind and imagination of Richard Philips...his books just seem to get better and better....

I've been enjoying books from Mr. Phillips since getting my first Kindle, and this one is no different. The third in this series, the plot is interesting, the setting unique, and the characters engaging. Of course it's best to read the other two books first, but I highly recommend this book and series.

Another major winner from Mr. Phillips!!!
He has already written some of my favorite "Just get away from the real world for a while"! It may not be the Hobbit, But this series has me on the edge of the seat waiting for the next one!

I loved the first book but this one was a chore to finish for me. It was basically just one really long battle and I just couldn't connect with it. I felt obligated to read it because I started it and hoped it would improve. It didn't. If you like vivid descriptions of battle, this book is definitely for you. It's not my thing, though. I was just kind of bored the whole time.

I still find myself skimming through the battle scenes which seem overly long but the pace of this book was faster than the pre ious ones and the author does some intriguing things with the characters. While we know what is coming to some extent as
The plot is classic. There are enough surprises to recommend it to others

This fantasy series keeps getting better and better. I don't do flowery critiques or autopsies on what I read. I would recommend this series to anyone into sci fi. Typically I enjoy military but this is a really well done story. I will support this author.

A lot moved forward in this book, but it set the nicely stage for another installment. Relationships and legends were built, characters lost and battles galore in the end. But these battles had time-shiftng, demons and monsters. So, very interesting!

With the third book in this series, you find yourself engulfed in the war between good and bad. You see groups who had never seen war step up to the task. We never know ourselves until desperation takes us.

I love this fantasy series. Relentless action with great characters both good and evil. Tons of magic flying about with epic battles by soldiers and creatures of the darkness. I look forward to reading the next book in this series!

Very good story line that kept my interest to the end. An epic battle between good and evil. The characters sacrifice so much in their fight, some even their lives! I would read more if there is another book.

Another great book in the series by Richard Phillips. I love how Carol has come into her own and how she's using good to defeat evil.
The writing gets better with each book.

I really liked this series. Each book was better than the last. I noticed the audio version for Curse of the Chosen skipped a sentence here and there but you wouldn’t notice if you don’t follow along. Still worth the audio if you like to listen because the story is real good.

I don't usually write reviews - but this is an incredible series! It is a must read for LOTR and GOT fans (like me)! This story just has to continue. Please Mr. Phillips, you must complete the prophecy!

It is great reading books with strong women. Loved the women of Val'dep. I couldn't put it down once the great battles started. I do recomend books 1 and 2 to really understand the relationships of the main characters and how they have grown.

It's a gripping and exciting tale, but the relationships felt very one-dimensional and predictable and there was something about the names of the people and places that seemed very forced and awkward.

"Curse of the Chosen" has proved a satisfying sequel even though the story is not over, many of the loose strings from the first book in "The Endarian Prophecy" come to a most satisfying conclusion. I heartily enjoyed it.

My recommendation? Anything Richard Phillips writes is a must-read. The Endarian Prophecy is a departure for Phillips, one in which he's created everything and married fantasy, magic and science fiction. "Curse of the Chosen" is the third in the series that pits Carol, a young woman with promising magical abilities, against a demon-possessed antagonist determined to take over the world and kill anybody and everybody who stands in his way. Carol learned in the previous novel how to control her abilities and now she understands that the voices really are in her head, she just had to pay attention and tune out what she didn't want to hear. Her husband, an assassin known as Blade, remains a deadly ally. But the armies of Kragan are nearly upon the quickly built fortress her father and his small army have fashioned as a last stand. Her brother, the well-meaning but somewhat bloodthirsty Alan, has been relegated to what he thinks is a supporting role at the mountain village of their father's key allies. But they will all need every bit of luck and every sword and sorcerer if they are to survive. The book builds to a magnificent climax and battle, and that's where Phillips really shines. His descriptions are epic and worthy of the Song of Roland with a little Two Towers mixed in. I had trouble not reading this constantly after starting.

I loved this set of books! The world created seemed to be a patchwork of familiar and original. The characters also familiar and original. The plot twists and characters involvement was very well done. Altogether a very enjoyable journey! Thank you.

I’ve enjoyed reading and listening to all three of these books in the series but I’m still waiting and wanting more. I have actually played them more than once on audible and have read them more than once… Just one more book?
