I got this book through a Susan Mallery e-mail request to join her "Review Crew". This book is Number 15 in the Fool's Gold series, but don't let that scare you. This is the first book in this series that I have gotten the pleasure to read. While I did have a few questions about the book when I first started reading it, I quickly got absorbed in the storyline and with the characters. It's safe to say that this book could be a great "stand alone" book or a person could pick up the series with the next book which is something that I am considering. That's how great I thought this book was. As I read the book, I laughed, got angry, and almost shed a few tears. I thought the book was very well written and would, most sincerely, recommend it to those who like contemporary romance novels. Well written, Ms. Mallery!!

Jack and Larissa's story lets us inside the inner workings of Jack. Everything is well with Jack's world until Larissa's mother tells Jack that Larissa will never marry because Larissa is in love with Jack. Now, Jack's world begins to fall apart. We find out why Jack is the money man behind all of Larissa's causes. We also find out why Larissa feels like she has to save the world. Mayor Marsha is also up to her usual manipulations, which we love.
Jack and Larissa's story is tender and sad in spots, but still filled with the family dynamic of SCORE and the town of Fool's Gold, with a surprise or two.
Another great visit to Fool's Gold. Susan Mallery is a great storyteller. She knows how to touch the heart. More please!!!

I am always happy to be back in Fool's Gold. I love the people, their kinship and all the things that make this a great place to be! This is Jack and Larissa's story. He has a past that has made him afraid to commit to someone. Jack is Larissa's boss and a good friend. Larissa is in love with Jack but was resigned to just go along as they were until her Mom tells Jack the truth. This changes things for Jack. But, can he get past his hurt from the past and accept Larissa's love? Will he be able to work his feelings out or let her go? It's a great read!! I love it!!
Almost Perfect (Fool's Gold, Book 2) :: Meant to Be (Sweetbriar Cove Book 1) :: Best of My Love (Fool's Gold Book 22) :: A Modern Fairy Tale Romance (Happily Inc) - Second Chance Girl :: Just One Kiss (Fool's Gold, Book 11)

Another Fool's Gold book that is as wonderful as the others. Larissa and Jack are friends. She is his masseuse and also of the other guys in Score offices. She is also a girl who rescues animals. Jack has helped her with them also. Enter her mom, who lets Jack know that Larissa cares about him, but she wants him to fire her, Larissa, so she will move back home and find a man to marry so she will get some grandchildren from her. Needless to say that when Larissa finds out things change with Jack. Neither of them want to commit to each other, they want to stay friends,. This is a funny and interesting story. You will surely enjoy it. I cannot wait till another book in this series comes out. Keep up the good work Susan Mallery

Larissas mom tells Jack that Larissa is in love with him and everything starts to come apart? Is that really believable? In this case it really opens up a Pandora's box of events that you have to read to believe and that you don't want to miss. Add in all the other wonderful characters of Fools Gold, California like Taryn and Sam and Kenny and some new ones you will love and rescuing animals and it makes for quite a bit of fun and heartache. You won't want to miss this last book in the Fools Gold series of "When We Met", "Before We Kiss" and now "Until We Touch"...........a great summer read.

I loved some things about this book and disliked some others. With that in mind....I gave it the 3 stars. I loved finally having Larissa and Jack get together but even at the end of the book I never felt like I "KNEW" them like characters in the past. Their past is only briefly touched on and not to the point that I felt anything special from the telling of it. Both back stories felt like they needed more meat to them. Was particularly bothered by Jacks. The "family tragedy" just kind of felt like words on a page. Did he parents leave and never contact him again?
Loved the intro for Percy and can't wait for the building of all the new/newer characters that were in this book.
The chiweenies were awesome!!!

As a part of Susan Mallery’s review crew, I am asked to read the book and give an honest review of it. As much as I love the Fool’s Gold series, Until We Touch was a disappointment to me. I loved the main character, Larissa but did not like Jack at all. I felt the book was quite boring for several chapters leading up to Jack and Larissa’s (short) romance. I also felt the ending was predictable and rushed. As a plus there was a new character introduced in this book that I loved and can’t wait for a book to come out about him. I feel Percy is a great addition to the Fool’s Gold family. If you are a Mallery fan I do encourage you to still read this book but prepare to be a bit disappointed.

Until We Touch finally gives us Jack and Larissa's story. Throughout the previous books of this year's Fool's Gold collection, we have gotten to know Jack -the ex-football star- and Larissa -the good cause gal- and I was looking forward to their story. While I did enjoy Larissa and Jack together, I felt more drawn to Jack than Larissa. Jack has had a tough time in his personal life and you can't help but root for him to finally find happiness. Larissa, eh. It's one thing to want to be part of a good cause, but she takes it to a slightly frightening, fanatical level.
Overall Until We Touch is a good continuation of the Fool's Gold series and I loved seeing the previous friends and how they are doing. I can't wait for Kenny's story!

Until We Touch by Susan Mallery is the third in the latest Fool’s Gold series. This is a fun book starring hunky former football quarterback Jack and a somewhat kooky Larissa who just never met a cause she didn’t want to help. Both work at Score, the new PR firm in Fool’s Gold. Jack is one of the partners with Taryn, Kenny, and Sam. Larissa is their massage therapist and Jack’s personal assistant. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has been waiting for sparks to fly between Jack and Larissa. Jack tries to stay uninvolved with anyone or any cause. He will write the checks but that’s all he wants to do. No emotions or attachments for Jack. Larissa is happy just to be Jack’s friend. Jack is happy being Larissa’s buddy. Until, a comment by Larissa’s mother changes everything. The end of the story seemed a little rushed but I enjoyed it and was glad Jack and Larissa worked through their feelings and dug deep to find where their true hearts belonged. I even like the cover on this book; it almost got the characters right although Larissa should have had on yoga pants.

This addition to the Fool's Gold series is handicapped in my opinion by a ho-hum hero and heroine. Jack has closed himself off from true human connections and it takes too long to find out why- by the time his past was all revealed, I had pretty much written him off. Larissa is a flighty do-gooder who rockets from project to project but then counts on Jack to bail her out when she gets in over her head. I prefer a heroine who is more independent and capable than Larissa proves to be throughout this novel. This is also another Fool's Gold offering replete with parents so nosy and invasive, I cannot imagine any adult would tolerate them. An average romance at best.

Overall, I'd say Until We Touch is pretty good and worth the read if you're a Fool's Gold fan. However, I will admit that it was definitely not my favorite of the series. Nothing particular stands out that made me not enjoy it as much as many of the other books in the series. It just didn't grab my attention as much. I kept thinking, "How is this going to end?" instead of "I wonder what happens next?!? Let me keep reading!" I liked the characters fine, Larissa is very sweet and kind hearted, I loved that she wants to save the world, and Jack is, well he's Jack. He's likable but also a bit detached, but throughout the book you learn that's from painful things that have happened in his past, not because he's an uncaring jerk. He's quite the opposite of that once he allows himself to open up.

"Until we Touch" - part of the Fool's Gold Romance series by Susan Mallery is an instant hit for me. Like all her books, you get hooked from the very beginning. It's just that good! This particular couple is just so cool in that they are so open and upfront with each other because they know each other so well. They both have self blame issues that they have to deal with. They come at life from different perspectives. On the one side, cautious and on the other optimistic. It takes that "aha" moment before things get settled. I love it!

****POSSIBLE SPOILERS*******;
Jack and Larissa's story is a little unusual, but I think that is part of its charm. I'm always going to buy Fool's Gold books as I'm in love with the place, but there have been more symoathetic characters. Jack I understood and looked forward to his redemption; I had a little problem with Larissa although I know what being impossibly in love with someone you thought you couldn't have feels like. (We were married in 1969.) And maybe I too would have blindly chosen Larissa's path to solve her "problem." But I don't think so. Anyway, Ms. Mallery's writing, the funny bits and clever dialogue keep the pages turning. I recommend this one to her fans.

Another fine addition to the Fool's Gold library, Until We Touch could stand alone if necessary. If this is your first Susan Mallery book, it's a great example of her writing; Her books center around the character of a small town populated by the kind of people we would all love to encounter. The quirks and quacks abound, but they are certainly endearing. Each story will connect thru the town and each lead couple is multi layered and unique. Well plotted and beautifully written, I enjoy each installment ans eagerly await the next.

Until We Touch by Susan Mallery An Awesome Book
It is a Fools Gold the last of a set of 3 for the spring summer. I would love to live in Fools Gold with these people, they sound so great..
So I always look forward to my next book. to meet new characters and to remember others met in earlier books.
I really enjoyed watching Jack and Larissa realize that yes her mother was right that they do love each other.
I like the fact that Larissa is always wanting to save something, and that Jack always offers support even when he doesn't really want to.
I had a hard time putting book down. It was a great story.I would recommend it to anyone who likes to read a good romance.
I am part of the review crew and really enjoyed the book can't wait for another book in the series.

Another great installment in the Fool's Gold series by Ms. Mallery. I've read a number of this series and was looking forward to the story of Jack and Larissa. While the story was a tad more serious than some of her other books have been, I really enjoyed the story about the ex-football star and his personal assistant masseuse who wants to save the world - one person or animal at a time.
Ms. Mallery has an excellent hand at writing characters that you can relate to and to like. It makes you reach for the next book. I'm hoping the next in the series will be about Kenny and Bailey but I can see some other pairings beginning to shape up, too.

Another outstanding addition to the Fool's gold community. Jack McGarry is exactly the kind of hero you want to kiss and kick at the same time, and your heart goes out to him when you see what he's missing out on. Susan Mallery uses a very deft touch n developing the relationship between Jack and Larissa and in defining who and what they are. you feel their pain as well as their joy, and certainly root for their happy ending. The scene where Jack finally confronts his fears is one you will reread again and again. You will also meet some other Fool's gold characters you have come to know and love and there is a very funny scene when Zane Nicholson comes to town that made me laugh so hard. Thank you, Susan, for writing fabulous books and showing us what romance is really all about.

We have heard this story a million times: the girl is in love with her boss and he is clueless. Same old same old - right ??? WRONG-O ... Susan Mallery may have used a recurring theme in this book, but you would never know it. The way Susan Mallery writes it makes the reader feel like they have never read the story before. We are told the story of Larissa and Jack in this book. Oh what a story it is. In typical Fools Gold tradition there is laughter, alpha males, strong women and meddling friends and neighbors. I loved watching Jack fall in love with Larissa. This is just another great book in the series. You have to read it. I give it 4 stars.

I am very much enjoying Susan Mallery’s Fool’s Gold Romance series. These are captivating, character driven, contemporary romance novels with a bit of humor thrown in for good measure. Until We Touch is my third Fool’s Gold romance, and it is no exception to this. Larissa is Jack’s massage therapist, and they have a friendly, easy going, working relationship until Larissa’s mother steps in convinced Larissa is in love with Jack. Both Jack and Larissa start to look at their relationship differently, and some nice romance and crazy antics with Larissa’s pet projects ensues. Until We Touch was a light, touching read, perfect for summer.

“Until We Touch” is the final book in the Fool’s Gold trilogy this summer. I enjoyed Jack and Larissa’s story. Jack hears from Larissa’s mother that Larissa is in love with him which is why she wouldn’t settle down and give her grandbabies! Jack can’t believe that and has never seen Larissa in that light. But once those words were spoken, Jack looks at everything differently. It was fun to see them fighting their attraction to each other. I love Fool’s Gold and Susan’s ability to bring back old characters and to see what is happening in their story. I truly love that because I so like her characters and they live on after the book is completed. Enjoy Fools Gold!

So this one was all about Larissa and Jack. Of the Score guys, Jack seemed to be the least likely one to fall in love….even though I think he was all along (who else would let someone place all sorts of critters in their house, and donate his money to her favorite causes!) Watching Jack come to several realizations, about himself, Larissa, and even his buddies was funny, and at times frustrating. You just wanted Jack to realize what was standing right in front of him!! What a great ending to this summer’s Fool’s Gold installment!

I enjoy the Fool's Gold series and this book was no exception. The guys from Score are all larger than life, and none more than Jake. While I wanted to kick him to the curb before the book was done, he redeemed himself and made a come back. Larissa is just a great character. Her animal rescue exploits have given me a few good laughs though the series and she has a heart of pure gold. I really had fun reading this trilogy within the series. There are sexual scenes, mild violence (by Consuelo during b-ball) and mild profanity.
Heat factor hot.

I loved Jack and Larissa's story. Jack is Larissa's boss and friend. Jack is portrayed as a playboy who doesn't get emotionally involved. Larissa is a caring individual who is always looking for her next "cause." Larissa lives conservatively so that she is more able to help others, and along with Jack's money and support, she is able to help many causes. Not only does Jack financially support her causes, but he also allows her to house various animals at his house. The story starts out with Larissa's mother asking Jack to fire her daughter so that Larissa will move back home and find someone to marry. She tells Jack that Larissa can't do that in Fools Gold because she's in love with Jack. Larissa emphatically states she is not in love with Jack. Jack starts to immediately see Larissa a little differently. I loved the reaction Jack has to a massage (Larissa is his personal assistant and masseuse) - let's just say he's a little embarrassed! I really enjoyed the chemistry between the characters. If you're looking for a great romance, this is the book for you.

Although Until We Touch is a good book I didn't feel Jack and Larissa's chemistry until about 75 percent through the book, and I've never had that issue with a Susan Mallery book before. I also thought Jack was a bit of a horses butt throughout the whole book, even though I've liked him in past books. As always with a Fool's Gold book it is like being with great friends and/or family when you open the pages. As with all of the Fool's Gold books Until We Touch can be read as a stand alone, but it sure is nice knowing everyone in town. I do recommend this book.

Jack and Larissa's story is filled with animals, sports and unseen love. Larissa is always ready to help with a cause and Jack is always ready to write a check to help Larissa. Jack is Larissa's best friend and will always be there for her. When Larissa's mother tells Jack about Larissa's feelings for Jack, everything changes. While Larissa is open to seeing what needs to change in her life, Jack takes the longer and tougher road of not seeing the true until he loses everything. Jack finally sees the light and there is a happy ending. Until we touch has less about other characters and Fool's Gold going ons but is a cute and fun story.

This is probably the last book I will buy authored by Susan Mallery. One word to describe this book BORING! I am so tired of this Fools Gold town that she has written about book after book after book. I mean where is the creativity, where is the imagination. It is the same old story, same old people, same old cute town. There was little romance in this latest one and it is all tied up neatly in the last two paragraphs. I would like to read a romance novel without the characters being interchangeable. Ms Mallery is not the only popular author that continues to write about the same old characters and the same town. Come on write something different.

It’s Jack and Larissa’s turn! Until We Touch demonstrates how even the smartest, wealthiest, sexiest man can completely make a mess of all he holds dear. Larissa has been in Jack’s life for years, and he considered her one of his best friends. That was all he was looking for in life. Until he was told that Larissa was in love with him. Suddenly, everything changes…and he is not ready for it. This installment of the Fool’s Gold series will make you laugh out loud, and then make you wonder how a man can be so dense. This is the best one yet!

I was really disappointed in Until We Touch, especially since I liked the characters of Jack & Larissa in prior Fool's Gold books. For me, there just didn't seem to be much chemistry between the two, and their story just limped along. Frankly, Jack was pretty unlikable and the ending seemed too contrived and pat considering how he hurt & betrayed Larissa, Taryn, & Percy. I've loved everything by Susan Mallery that I've read until this one. I dislike giving negative reviews, but Until We Touch missed the mark for me on so many levels.

I love all the Fool’s Gold books as I am sure all of you do, but I had a hard time getting into this story. Maybe in my mind I expected it to go a different way after reading the first two in this “mini-series” within the series?
The first half of this story was very, very slow moving for me. I finally got into it, but then felt like the ending was rushed.
I was glad to finally read Larissa and Jack’s story and will continue to read the Fool’s Gold series, but this one was kind of “blah” for me and it seems like the last few books in the series have all had a predictable ending…Yes, I want the happy ending, but it needs to be mixed up a bit and not be predictably resolved in the last two pages.

Despite her mother’s accusation, Larissa, the SCORE masseuse, claims she’s not in love with ex-pro quarterback and boss Jack McGarry. They have the perfect platonic relationship. She launches into rescue mode and he writes the checks. Besides as his personal assistant-she knows Jack doesn’t make romantic commitments. Her mother-and all their friends-have to be mistaken, don’t they? The accusation awakens desires in both Jack and Larissa but acting on them could destroy their friendship. Susan Mallery delivers a sexy friends to lovers story. I received a promotional copy in exchange for reviewing this novel.

Another winner for Susan Mallery.
I loved these characters. Larissa is such a sweetheart, so giving & generous. Jack is the no involvement type that is really hiding a very vulnerable heart. He pretty much lives his life through her. And they are perfect for each other. It is so much fun, and at times heart breaking, to watch them figure it out. When things change for Larissa, it’s great to see the whole town behind her. I love how old characters always show up, like Taryn who is trying to plan her wedding, & new characters are gradually introduced, which reminds you there is another book down the road. Fool’s Gold would be a great place to spend your next vacation.

Larissa and Jack's story was just perfect-- all your favorite friends from Fool's Gold showed up, there was foreshadowing into the next book(s) and Larissa and Jack fell in love, just like you wanted them to.
It's a complicated relationship, falling for your boss. It's even more complicated when you don't realize it until you're way over your head. Reading through as Larissa realizes she loves Jack (and vice versa), you fall in love with them, too. And their family is off to a perfect start with their new additions!!

I received this book I exchange for a honest review. I love Larissa and Jack, they are a great couple. Leave it to Mom to point out the truth ad be right. I love the fact that everyone knew but let but them come to the conclusion them selves. I know that Jack had to self destruct first to really try and protect his heart but in the end true love prevails. I laugh a lot with this book I found that Jack's situation and his freak out was great. Congrats to Jack and Larissa. Again I love Fool's Gold and all the people and I am always excited to read more about them and the town. Susan Mallery does it again! Until we Touch is the latest installment to the Fool’s Gold Romance Series. There is no disappointment here! This is about former football hero Jack McGarry and Larissa Owen’s story. Its two friends that come to realize that they have feeling for each once it’s been pointed out to each other! Not only was this another great love story but I really enjoyed these two characters doing a little growing up along the way. Great read for the summer. You will find it hard to put down. Plus, we got a sneak peak in what I am hoping is some new folks for upcoming books. If you haven’t already read When we Met & Before we Kiss I would defiantly read them also to enjoy all the folks from the Score PR Firm.

This is another Fools Gold treasure. This is the story of Jack and Larissa. Jack is a former football quarterback who is now partners in the Score PR firm. Jack's history is one of abandonment and so he says he will never let anyone close again. Larissa is Jack's personal assistant and the firms private masseuse. She feels guilty because her parents had to get married due to an unplanned pregnancy, her. She constantly rescues animals, people and she draws Jack into her causes. They are the best of friends but they don't realize they are in love with each other. This is a quirky, fun story.

Susan's storytelling had me engrossed as usual and wishing I could so live in Fool's Gold! As anticipated, Jack and Larissa's story did not disappoint. Two kindred souls both giving individuals but holding back behind their fears; Larissa deeply involved and hands on in her causes and Jack providing support (financial and otherwise) for those causes. They have a unique friendship that suddenly takes a spin when Larissa's Mom lays it out there. You will experience a gamut of emotions...everything you love and expect from a Fool's Gold story. Enjoy!

I liked the book for the most part. However, the theory about Jack being non-committal didn't make sense since he was in committed relationships with his business partners and Larissa as his assistant. I enjoyed reading the book until the part where Jack and Larissa decide an affair is the best way for her to get over him. He knew is was a mistake yet agreed and then went on to make their first night together extra special. If he wanted her to see him as he was with other woman, why would he treat her like a princess and go out of his way? The rest of the book was a bit of a let down for the way Jack treated Larissa. The ending was a bit rushed. Of course, it all worked out in the end and they each found their way and their perfect niche in life. If only life worked that way.

Sometimes you don't even realize that you are in love with someone until it is brought to your attention by an outsider. That is what happens with Jack and Larissa. They are buddies, coworkers, and rescuers together. Someone says something and then Susan Mallery has another great book. It is great visiting with old friends from Fool's Gold in past books. It is also interesting to try and figure out who she will put together next. Susan has such a wonderful imagination that I feel Fool's Gold will continue on for some time, at least I hope. Great read and I am already looking forward to next summer's installment. If you've never read a book from Fool's Gold, you are missing out!

Here is another cute Fools Gold's romance story. This is Larrissa's and Jacks story, about their friendship turning to true love. Its entertaining, heartwarming and funny ,which will keep you either laughing or crying. A light summer romance read for the beach and you will keep reading unitil its finished, its that good! Once again we meet up with Mayor Marsha and I hope we learn more about her secrets. It also sets us up for maybe future romances in Fools Gold - Bailey and Kenny , a possibilty/ I love the animal rescue's. Read and enjoy --I recieved this book to give my honest review.

This is book number 15 in the Fool's Gold series for Susan Mallery. I was very excited for this book as Susan has been building up to this story since they first introduced them when Score came to town. However, I wasn't as happy with this story as I was with other previous ones that I have read. I found this one lacked the excitement and adventure that were in previous ones that I have read in this series.
Susan did a great job of developing the characters in this book and setting the scene. I real felt like that I knew the characters and understood their backgrounds. However, what I felt lacked was the development of the story. It felt like you were reading the lead up to their story but that it never really came. It kind of lacked the main love story that Susan has in all her books.
However, what I did enjoy about this book was how Susan had both of the characters develop. You got to see both of them really find out who they were and what they were meant to do. If anything that is what kept me reading. This book really did show you as a reader though that Susan has a gift of really developing characters.
All in all Until we Touch was a good but not great book. I would have liked to see Jack and Larissa's love story have a little more adventure and mystery then what she had. It may sound bad but their romance was kind of boring and not interesting. I am interested to see what stories Susan has in store for the future books.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good love story with just the right amount of bumps to make the relationship stronger. You feel like you are right there with them, enjoying every minute of all of the relationships. it's amazing how you can be friends with someone & not realize how much they mean to you until someone or something will make you look at that someone with different eyes. It made me laugh & at times it made me sad. I just love every single one of Susan Mallery's books I read. The Fool's Gold series is so great I plan to go back & try to read every single one that I haven't read yet. Just think about the many animals Larissa rescue & how Jack let her leave them at his home it makes me laugh. An owl, Just think. Highly recommend the book.

I love the way Susan Mallery starts this book out with, Larissa's mother having a talk with Jack about Larissa's feelings toward him.
This sets thing in motion. (Thanks Mom)
Until we Touch is a great read. With Larissa and her do good deeds. (What will she bring into Jacks house next.) and with Jack not wanting to commit his feelings. (Typical guy)
Once again this book had many laugh out loud moments and times you wanted to hit Jack for making Larissa cry.
I'm so looking forward to Kenny and Bailey's story. Too bad we have to wait till Christmas.

I have read quite a few number of the Foo's Gold books by Susan Mallery. They are usually satisfying beach reads. This one was a bit of a let down. The characters lacked any depth and it all just seemed silly. I just didn't find that there was much chemistry.

Until We Touch is the best of the summer! Jack and Larissa are fabulous characters. The book brought be back to the fun of Fool’s Gold. I’ve felt the other recent Fool’s Gold books have been lacking but Until We Touch made up for them tenfold. Together and apart Larissa and Jack are intriguing characters with families, pasts, and humor. Seeing into Score and the relationships between the Score players was great, we got to see more of players and got to know them on a deeper level. Now, that’s not to say the rest of the town was neglected, that was not the case. We saw some of our favorite Fool’s Gold characters throughout the story. Until We Touch was everything expected and more!

It wasn’t very long into Until We Touch, that I was ready to choke Jack. How could he not see what was right in front of him? Well, it’s a testament to Susan Mallery’s writing that I was so frustrated with Jack’s emotional handicap. He has his reasons, but he’s hidden from commitment for so long, it’s become an engrained habit and he has developed it to an art form. It was, as it always is in Fool’s Gold, a fun, romantic ride. Larissa is a very likeable heroine. When Jack makes his final and monumentally epic screw-up, you just ache for her. Fortunately, Fool’s Gold is the Land of Happy Endings!

WHAT a good book! The interactions between the characters were too interesting to skip so much as a sentence. The love story, between Jack and Larissa, was heart-melting and the enormous, painful, heartbreaking rift was riveting.
Although I knew there would be a happy ending in the final chapter, the story's conclusion was as unexpected as it was heart-warming.
Susan Mallery is the Queen of Fool's Gold!
I can't wait for the next story.

Best of the summer! Susan Mallery has yet again delivered a great trilogy. Until We Touch is the last visit to Fool's Gold for the summer of 2014. I loved reading the story of Jack and Larissa finally finding love and true meaning in their lives. I enjoyed them learning their lessons along the way. I would have liked to see Jack confront his parents in some way and bury the emotions he never dealt with from his past a bit more clearly. I loved the addition of Percy and cant wait to see what is in the future for the young man. This is a wonderful story and I think the best of the summer.

Jack McGarry became an emotional recluse through a series of events years ago. Afraid to test his heart, he has been running away from commitment. Larissa Owens has been working for Jack and it took her mother's visit to point out that she is love in Jack. In addition to work, Jack has always been there for Larissa taking in stray animals and financing the transplant patients that Larissa finds who need help. Larissa decides to test the waters with Jack thinking she will get over him. A bit of sadness, lots of sweetness and a heartwarming romantic story which I loved.

This was not one of my favorite fool's gold story. I could not get into the story because the main hero did not ring true. He claims to be emotionally uninvolved yet he has several great friendships including one with Larissa. If a person is getting together with another often to eat or hang out there is a relationship be it romantic or platonic. I can see a friendship that turns in to more very easily but for the guy to meltdown because of it, I have issues with. The great thing about this series though is that I don't have to love every story-it's the totality of the series that makes it a great read.

I never get tired of going back to Fools Gold. I love this town and admire that Susan just keeps them coming. Jack and Larissa are trying to decide about their feelings for each other. Jack worries about getting to close and being hurt like he was so long ago. Larissa thinks she can fix her feelings for Jack. Oh what a wicked web we weave, trying to deceive and deny true feelings. Also in this book, I really enjoy the addition of new characters and knowing there will be more Fools Gold stories to come.

The main characters in the final installment of this summer's Fool's Gold trilogy are Jack and Larissa. When Larissa's mom tells Jack he has to fire her so she will move back home and get married and have babies, he is amused but when she claims Larissa is in love with him, he is shocked. It can't be! They have known each other for years and she works for him, but is it true?
Larissa is appalled but then wonders if her mother's words have any truth to them. Larissa is ready to save the world, with Jack's help but can she save him and would he even allow her to?
I loved their story and all the ways they complement each other. Fool's Gold is my favorite place to go and this one does not disappoint!

The Fool’s Gold series keeps getting better! This latest instalment is the love story between Jack, a former NFL player, and Larissa, his assistant and massage therapist. Since the characters’ had a relationship that started well before the book began the romantic tension started right away with Larissa’s mother telling Jack that her daughter loves him. Larissa’s mother provides the little push needed for Larissa and Jack to acknowledge that their deep friendship is also love. Rather than speeding through a meet cute to marriage proposal, Until We Touch tells the story of an established relationship as it transforms into a partnership. Larissa and Jack were a team from the moment they met and following them as fall in love is touching. I think some of Mallery’s wrap up too quickly, but I think Until We Touch wrapped up at a better pace and I am satisfied with the ending (I will even admit to a few tears).
Even if you haven’t read the other books in the series Mallery does a great job of filling in the backstory of both characters. If you have read other books in the series Mallery does a great job of connecting characters in past books (and characters I assume will be in future books) and letting you know how the other couples are getting on. Until We Touch is another great instalment of the Fool’s Gold series. I’m looking forward to reading about Kenny falling in love.

Susan Mallery has once again invited us into the lives of the people and animals of Fool's Gold with Jack and Larissa's very own love story. I was routing for both characters in this book (although I would have liked to smack Jack upside the head once or twice) and enjoyed the growth of both their personalities and life views. We were also able to briefly visit and check in on the other people of Fool's Gold from previous stories (and hopefully a preview of more to come). The only disappointment for me was the quick ending. It seemed to wrap up in the last 10-15 pages and I was hoping for a little more depth when they finally decided they were right for each other.

This is the final book in this latest Fool's Gold Series. It is about Jack McGarry, one of the owners of Score and Larissa Owens, his personal assistant. Jack is rather standoffish and does not want to get close to anyone. Larissa is his exact opposite. She is involved with a variety of causes that always end up involving him. They begin to realize that they have feelings for one another. I will have to say that I am not a fan of Jack. Larissa is very kind and caring and he ends up being very cruel to her. I read early and often. I'd rather Han than eat, and I rarely miss a meal. I like a good story, in romance that the ales some doing. I mean what can you do with the 'guy meets girl, gets her to fall for him, they work through this differences and get a happily ever after' plot line that hasn't been done already? Mallery worked it-overworked it in my opinion. She crafts memorable characters- a whole town full.
Still, this was the longest 376 pages I've ever read. I've read Tolstoy (sue me, I was an English major). I've read Gabaldon. Lost 3 lbs and several nights of sleep. This book, Until We Touch, was easy to.put down. It was fought to finish, in fact. The characters could have walked right out of you high school yearbook. Each had a hint of back story but you had to take on faith their current behavior was because of or in spite of their heavy past. Except of course with the hero and heroine. Their backstroke are trotted out several times. And though you know it, few others do. Or they keep what they know to themselves.
That and the endless drama that spins out the will they or won't they ever get it together until you decide enough already!Just finish the story! These traits of this story make me uninterested in the inevitable sequels about Kenny and his problems or how Sam and Tatum solve their problems, or Percy overcomes his challenges. If you're a fast rear, and you enjoy soap opera style romance, this book may just the ticket for you. Me, not so much.

I still love every book that Susan writes and this one is no exception. I enjoyed the overall story and always love the interaction that the main characters have with previous characters. I also like looking for the hints of things to come with characters and those were present in this one as well. I was a little disappointed in the ending this time though. It just seemed so rushed. I'm hoping that is somehow related for what is to come next. Overall, it was still a great read and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a book and series. Already looking forward to the next one!

Really enjoyed Jack & Larissa's story. I did however want to beat him up. Several times. She kept bringing all kinds of critters to him to foster and any other project she felt was worth it. He put up with dogs, cats, kids, an owl because it made him feel like he was making a difference in peoples lives. He tries to keep his distance from people, but Larissa gets under his skin. As usual, loved Mayor Marsha - she is a crafty lady. Never know what she is up to. Hope we get Kenny's story next. I know who I want him to end up with.

Another good romance in the Fool's Gold series. This was Jack and Larissa's story and I enjoyed it. I liked the exploration of their feelings as they both discovered that the familiarity and friendship was actually something more. The ending of this book was a little different in that there's a happy ending, but a big change for one of the characters. That was unexpected.
Susan knows how to write a great story and again she didn't disappoint.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.

Jack & Larissa are givers, one of money & the other time. Jack a former football player, keeps people at arms lengths
because of his past. Larissa likes to rescue anything she can, but can Larissa save herself & Jack? Larissa's mom
drops a bomb that has them both thinking & reacting funny.
This book is both funny & tear jerker. Can't wait for next "Fool's Gold" !!!!

My rating is really 2.5. My problem with this story was there was a lot of repetitive dialogue no romance until the end and it dragged on and on. Jack and Larissa were loveable in the previous books but in this, they were washed out versions of themselves. I loved the introduction of Percy the young Black male, as up until now Fool's Gold series has been weak on diversity. However, even that was glossed over to the point that out of the blue Percy has a girlfriend and there is a misplaced/ timed scene with Jack about condoms (totally random). The last scenes were romantic but then it just abruptly ended.

Surprisingly hot along with funny and sad. Susan Mallery weaves another winning tale of warmth and compassion with Jack and Larissa at center stage. All the Fool's Gold characters we have come to know and love have a role in this one, as they should.
i really enjoyed it and found myself carried away to the charm and simplicity that is Fool's Gold. Like taking a vacation!

I'm not sure what happened to this series, but this was one of the most difficult books I've ever read. I've read Mallery's books before and enjoyed them, but this one was slow and not interesting at all. It seems that the author may have become tired of the series, but fan expectations has keep her going. Either that or someone else is ghostwriting her books now. Anyway, I won't be reading any more of this series.

I like Susan Mallery, but I think she needs to let Fool's Gold go. I've ready all of the Fool's Gold books, and I liked the first few, but it seems that she has run out of story lines. Until We Touch was just a rehash of all the rest of the books.
Of all the Fool's Gold books, I think this one was the most lacking in chemistry. SPOILER - Jack didn't even like Larissa until he took her to San Francisco to have sex. There was no build-up, no tension, just lots of mentions of chiweenies and Larissa's "causes." I didn't care for either of these main characters. Larissa was whiney and too idealistic. Plus, the "personal massage therapist" thing was creepy. Jack was arrogant and condescending to Larissa.
My other thought is how an entire town is populated by thirty-something good looking singles and 3 old ladies. Where is the diversity? Apparently every woman in town is a thin, gorgeous, wealthy white entrepreneur. Every man is a (white) war hero or professional athlete. Consuelo, the lone female "diversity" in town (she's Hispanic, but also a war hero), and Kent, the lone male "diversity" (he was a school teacher) didn't even warrant their own book, just a secondary storyline. Take a look at Susan Mallery's website re: Fool's Gold. She has stock model photos for every character. It's pretty creepy. It's all too Stepford for me.
How many times can Susan Mallery describe the town, the shops in the town (i.e. Jo's Bar has mauve [really?] walls and fashion TV), Mayor Marsha, the festivals, etc.? Every story has the man doing something stupid and the women in town throwing a man-bashing margarita party. Really? These women can't think of anything else to do??
These are fine books if you're looking for a quick mindless read. If you're looking for substantial romance novels, you'll want to look elsewhere.

I enjoy Mallery's writing and this book set in Fool's Gold,CA was no exception. I've been reading her books about the residents of Fool's Gold for some time thus I was delighted to see one of the minor character's in Mallery's other books finally be the protagonist. It was fun to see her romance begin, then bloom with minor setbacks along the way. If you're a fan of the Fool's Gold series, you won't want to miss this book.

The novel's storyline was not as captivating as the other Fool's Gold stories. These two characters, Jack and Larissa, lacked the sparks needed for a romance novel. Their initially relationship founded on boss/ employee/masseuse took this 180° turn into a one-side love tryst which, to me , didn't materialize. Even though this was below Susan's storytelling standards, I can't wait to read Bailey's saga.

"Until We Touch" is the latest in the Fool's Gold story line and does not disappoint. Susan Mallery tells a great story.
This is Larissa and Jack's love story and if you like the other books in the Fool's Gold series, you will love this. Larissa is very lovable and funny. Jack is a closed up kind of guy but with Larissa, he gradually realizes his mistakes. I loved this one and am looking forward to the next in the series.

Of this batch of three book, because they all come in three’s, this was my favorite. Jack and Larissa’s story starts off with humor – delivered by Larissa’s mother – and continues somewhat throughout. This is your typical Susan Mallery fare with the reluctant, scared guy and the understanding woman who helps him find happiness but that makes it a good beach read. And it’s spark of humor vice the gut-wrenching thrills of threatening drama make it an easy read while watching your kids in the surf or at the pool.

I love reading the Fool's Gold series. They are full of emotions, humor and a great storyline. This story of Jack & Larissa has both love and the fear of being hurt or losing a great friendship in it. It really had me wondering if there would be a happy ending. Looking forward to the next one in the series.

There are many things I like about the Fool’s Gold series; for me reading this series is like coming home to a town filled with family and friends. There is many things extra special about Fool’s Gold... the distinctive town history and what is up with the all knowing Mayor Marcia? The ever growing cast of characters which become one very large extended family, and the extraordinary strong sense of community.
Until We Touch is another great addition to the Fool’s Gold series; I am a contemporary romance fan and enjoy how Susan Mallery’s style and can always count on the happily ever after ending!

Until we touch is a great addition to the fools gold series. The main characters for this romance are both trying to recover from a lifetime of experiences that have hindered their ability to fall in love. Susan has added events for several of the other fools gold residence which enhances the story line. This is yet another of Susan's superb storytelling.

I loved this book, but initially found Jack hard to like. I had liked Larissa and her causes from the first time they were introduced in other books. I thought I liked Jack, but Susan created a more complex character in Jack. By the end, he had redeemed himself but it was a long road. I must say that it made for a different reading experience to not like the main characters from the start, but it made them more human, and made for a great read.

The third and final book in this summer's Fools Gold series is a nice summertime romance. The dialog isn't as witty as other Susan Mallery books, but it's still a good read. Larissa has a big heart and is an animal lover so I especially enjoyed the pet references in the story. Mayor Marsha works her magic on Jack, former NFL quarterback and he ends up finding a meaningful mission for his post NFL career. As always, it's great to catch up to characters from previous Fools Gold stories.

Well, that's the first Fools Gold book I really didn't like. It was meandering and kinda depressing. Larissa was just too perky and Jack went from being a decent guy to being a raging ass. But it wrapped up perfect in just a few pages of course, which just seemed a little to easy for how derailed it got.
I did enjoy the bridesmaid dress.

If you have ever tried Susan Mallery's Fools's Gold books, you will understand that nobody writes better than she does. "Until We Touch" is just another example of her talent, making you fall in love with her characters. I can hardly wait to start reading a new one and hate when I get to the end.

Until We touch By Susan Mallery is the next installment in the Fool's Gold series. I enjoyed the book . This Fool's Gold book was better than some others in that there wasn't a million small storylines going on at the same time taking away from the building of the main story. I enjoyed the last third of the book the most, feeling it had the most meat and emotion.

Until We Touch” another great book from Susan Mallery. Jack and Larissa are sweet, funny, entertaining and believable. I love that Jack thinks he’s such a hard case, except where Larissa is concerned. I‘ve enjoyed all of the “Fools Gold” books, the charters carry over into the next book, and you really get to know the community. Each time I pick up a new book is like coming home. I want to live in Fools Gold!

I enjoyed the story of Larissa & Jack.... it was sort of an interesting twist on a relationship. I always find the real emotions & real life situations the best parts of the series while the crazy town throws in some fantastic comic relief.

I love Jack and Larissa's relationship--it unfolded in a way that is so different from the other stories. Larissa's causes create some funny situations! This is perfect for reading at the beach or by the pool.

I really like all the Fool's Gold stories - while I liked this book, I found the heroine, Larissa, a bit much, but I loved the banter between her and Jack. One of the things I like most about these stories, is they keep going, new characters are introduced and we get to visit with older characters we have already met. I look forward to the next stage in this great series.

I just finished "Until We Touch" last night and found I was actually sad that the story was over!! The two main characters, Jack and Larissa and their story was one I could absolutely identify with! She is a giver - to animals, both wild and domesticated as well as to her friends. And he.....well he finances all of her "projects", no matter what they might be. Together, it seems to work.....but does it really? What happens if one figures out they are in love with the other but all signs show it might be unrequited love? What if both of them are harboring guilt or pain from their childhoods? How might that affect their relationship behind the scene? Do they stand a chance to find true love and happiness? Susan will weave their storyline in ways that will take them to the pinnacle of ecstacy, only to then dump them into the depth of self hate, anger and misery. Are you intrigued? I hope so. Time to take out that card and buy this book! You will not be sorry......seriously!

I have never read a book that Susan Mallery has written that I didn't love and this one isn't any different. The only problem is that I read them too quickly and then have to wait for another. I love Fools Gold and all of the characters that live there. Thanks to Susan I think it is a place we would all like to live.
