I really loved Phoebe and Zane and it's my new favorite Fool's Gold story. Phoebe would talk with anyone: a steer, a goat or a grumpy cowboy named Zane. This was unusual for the series because 95% of it took place on a ranch in the hills above the city and the rest took place in Los Angeles. LOL But this still had the small town feel you've come to expect from Fool's Gold and quite a few of the characters from the town show up on the ranch during a cattle drive.

Kiss Me is number 17 in The Fools Gold series. It was a bit different since most of the story takes place on a cattle drive. I am used to having a town full of quirky characters who has a festival for every occasion. This was a cute way to steer away from that, no pun intended. In fact I adored Manny the steer who Phoebe befriends. The way Susan Mallery described Zane I could see a rugged, sexy cowboy each time his name appeared in the book. A great, easy, fun read.
Finding Perfect (Fool's Gold, Book 3) :: Evening Stars (Blackberry Island) :: Two of a Kind (Fool's Gold, Book 12) :: Marry Me at Christmas (Fool's Gold, Book 21) :: Lip Service (Lone Star Sisters, Book 2)

Another terrific read if you're a fan of the Susan Mallery Fool's Gold books. The beginning of this book made me laugh with Chase's antics getting his older brother Zane roped into a cattle drive on their ranch. It was also good to get to the outskirts of town onto a ranch. I was beginning to wonder how many businesses could fit in the downtown of Fool's Gold. Fun, quirky, and romantic this book is perfect for the beach or a lazy relaxing weekend at home, on vacation or at the pool.

Phoebe a city girl is suspended from her job. Her best friend sends her to her family ranch. Zane who owns the ranch is getting ready for a cattle drive that his brother set up unknown to Zane. Phoebe, who has never been on ranch learns about what all goes into a cattle drive. You will meet a couple who is taking 2 foster kids with them. The people who go on this cattle drive are different from one another. There are funny parts in this book. I love the Fool's Gold series and can't wait till the next book comes out.

No surprise I would love this book. It is after all fools gold. However this one is a bit different then the rest. It doesn't focus on the town so much as just the Nicholson Ranch. I loved how an outing brought prospective to just about all who was on it. It mad me sad to see the demons that Zane was fighting and that Phoebe seemed to reach him when no one else could. Not even his brother and sister. I wanted to cry at the end too. Very touching. 2 Thumbs up

I always enjoy Fools Gold! This one had a few laughs, a little love...okay more than a little love....and some family situations that can be related to by most of us readers. Susan always keeps our past Fools Gold characters "popping up" and that always adds to the fun....adding a new character to the fold is always great to see. And, once again, I can sense a new story line coming ....maybe a Hollywood Actor coming to town???? A must have Summer Read!!

Susan Mallery always tells an excellent story in her books. You can count on her stories having romance, poignant moments and laugh out loud scenes. I always think after reading one of her books that it is my favorite and then I read the next new one and feel the same way. All of her Fool’s Gold books are my favorites. I always eagerly await the new books. So once again have finished reading my favorite book and can’t wait for her new one to come out.

Another visit to Fool's Gold does not disappoint Susan Mallery's readers as they become involved in the lives of Phoebe and Zane. Life has not been easy for either of them and when they end up sharing adventures, life stories, and excitement on a cattle drive on Zane's ranch, the destination is definitely worth the journey. The cattle drive-like life-does not always go smoothly, but Phoebe and Zane both learn lessons about life, love, and awesome kisses along the trail!

Susan Mallery has the magic. Her stories envelop you, make you want to turn pages, make you dream of romance and not once has she ever disappointed. This new series, Fool's Gold, is no exception. Her characters are realistic, no contriving to bring a romance into the scene--except for the characters themselves. No hidden agendas, no tiresome formula writing.
This is a must read for romance devotees!

A Fool's Gold story but not a Fool's Gold story. This story is set on ranch land recently annexed by Fool's Gold and has new characters with brief visits from past characters. It is a story of forgiving yourself and of personal growth of a few characters. Old ladies, Edie and Gladys, were more normal in this story. I recommend this story to followers of Susan Mallery's Fool's Gold series and to new readers as it's not as entrenched in Fool's Gold culture.

Loved this one! I found myself worried after reading the Hold Me I couldn't connect with the characters but I loved Zane and Phoebe. I found myself laughing, crying, and shaking my head throughout the book. I wasn't so sure about CJ at first but Susan turned her around and I found myself liking her as a side character. As soon as I was finished I wanted to start all over and I haven't had that feeling since reading Only You. Susan Mallery is a auto buy for me and I cannot wait for the next book!

I really enjoyed Kiss me, I was hooked from page 1, if fact I could NOT put this book down. It’s a feel good book with interesting characters and an equally interesting steer!!!!
I really like how Susan always lets us to get to know all of the characters in her books. I love that Eddie and Gladys are a part of the story and part of the adventure and I really liked learning the background info that was shared about Gladys.
You won’t want to miss this Fool’s Gold Adventure.

Once again Susan has turned out another amazing book!! This one is more than just a romance between the main characters Zane and Phoebe, it shines light on the trials of infertility and the strain it can put on a marriage. it also bring to light the heartache older kids face when it comes to being adopted, This story will have you laughing at the silly things Phoebe does and have you in tears when it comes to the secondary character. I highly recommend this book to everyone!!

I love the Fool's Gold series, but it took me a little longer to get into this one. Of course, being that it was Susan Mallery and Fool's Gold, I also knew to hang on and it was worth it. It was great to be introduced to new characters that will open up new areas of Fool's Gold, yet we still will be keeping up with some of the old characters. This one has a some suspenseful sections which made the plot more exciting. It was well worth the read. Please keep them coming!

Susan Mallery once again delivers with her new book Kiss Me. The characters are very like her usual in that they have flaws and quirks that make them interesting and believable. I really liked Zane - hey, who doesn't like a cowboy? I also enjoyed Eddie and Gladys - those two never fail to amuse and entertain me. If you are looking for a good, light romance, any of the Fools Gold books will deliver, but I really enjoyed this one. Susan Mallery always makes you want to go back for your next visit to Fools Gold, which has me anxiously awaiting Thrill Me.

I'll buy anything Susan Mallery writes -- but I was seriously disappointed in this one. There is almost nothing to tie it to her Fool's Gold continuity! It could be set anywhere, as a stand-alone. If I want to read "Fools' Gold" it needs to be full of prior characters and connected to prior stories. This should have been a "stand alone" story! I just hope "Thrill Me" is really set in "Fool's Gold!

As soon as I read the back cover I knew I would love this book. I grew up in the country so I always enjoy when city folk try roughing it because hilarity always ensues. The best part about this book is that it is a fast read. You pick it up to read for an hour and when your free time is up you have made a decent dent in the book. I hate a slow moving book that drags because it takes away from your overall enjoyment. Kiss me does not have this problem. If you want a good summer read this book is for you.

Susan Mallery takes you to the fictitious town of Fool's Gold where romance is king. Her stories involve reoccurring characters but each book easily stands alone. Here we have the story of Phoebe and Zane. They come together on a greenhorn cattle drive filled with fun, feelings and nature. You will laugh at times and weep at others. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have ordered the others in this trilogy.

Another wonderful trip to Fools Gold.... this time to a ranch on the outskirts of town. I love these books because no matter what happens, love always wins. There are hard choices, happiness, sadness & life lessons in this book but also the fun comic duo of Eddie & Gladys. So glad to have traveled back to Fools Gold once again. Looking forward to my next trip! I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I had a really hard time getting into this book for some reason. It was good, but I usually can't wait to read a Fool's Gold story which wasn't the case with this one. Phoebe was a bit ditzy, which wouldn't necessarily be bad because Susan Mallery usually gives her characters intelligence even if its hidden for part of the story. I didn't feel any chemistry between the couple until at least half way through which was disappointing.

I always enjoy reading Susan Mallery's books about the unique town of Fools Gold. This book was no exception except this time the story takes place on Zane Nicholsons ranch. His brother has caused quite a problem and now to teach him a lesson a cattle drive with greenhorns takes place. Phoebe is Zanes sisters friend and along for the experience. Phoebe and Zane have nothing in common but are drawn to each other. During the cattle drive, relationships between the guests change and grow as the guests face challenges and even danger. A great story, with characters that are very likable. Enjoy!!!

Easy vacation read.
I enjoy being part of the review crew and love reading about those in Fools Gold. This is an easy read that keeps you engaged as you set out on a 'cattle drive' to teach little brother a lesson. Phoebe Kitzke is one of the main characters and she is like ale and has her own share of baggage. Her own history story is why she feels the need to always be helping others heal their heart. She has great insight into people's character and ways to help heal their heart, which gets her into trouble at times. The characters on the cattle drive are interesting and you will enjoy getting to know them. It is a good story and lots of hearts are healed.

I always love returning to Fool's Gold to catch up with all my favorite characters. While there weren't as many updates as in some books-no festivals this trip-I enjoyed meeting the new characters, and getting to do something brand new. Loved the idea of a cattle drive, and the motley group who were a part of it. The story moved easily, and the characters were real, flawed but honest in it. Would definitely recommend.

Susan Mallery always writes a story that you just can't put down. And when the story is in Fool's Gold, it doesn't get much better than that! Phoebe is a city girl. But is she? The more time she spends in Fool's Gold, the more she thinks maybe she is a country girl. Zane thinks Phoebe is one to stay away from. But can he? A great story that I highly recommend!

I love "visiting" Fool's Gold. The strong community is a life everyone should experience at some point. This beautiful story focused on many different groups, but all came down to one person, Phoebe, helping all the people she met while in Fool's Gold realize that love can heal in so many wonderful ways, and finding the happiness she deserved too.

Before I even opened up this book to begin reading, I had my mind made up that it was gonna be the same ole thing. I am glad to say I was wrong! It was another love story don't get me wrong, but it was refreshingly different. I enjoyed that Zane and Phoebe just went for it. They followed their hearts and just went for it. Sure they each had doubts, but they didn't get into the usual head games, which was nice! I enjoyed the cattle drive and all that went with it. I enjoyed the little side-story of the Lucy and Tommy, too. All in all, I enjoyed this episode in the Fools Gold series!!

Again, another solid entry in The Fool's Gold Series. Susan Mallery is becoming one of my favorite authors. I really loved the character of Phoebe; anyone who is so tender hearted deserves her "happy ever after" - but will she find it with Zane? As usual, the journey to find the answer has some twists and obstacles. Zane was not one of my favorite heroes; I wish his character was a little lighter and flexible. However, this is just my personal preference. Solid storyline and believable character development. If you are already a Fool's Gold devotee, be prepared to discover another favorite. If not - why? Try it - you'll like it!

Another great book by Susan Mallery. This book is different from other Fool's Gold books as none of the main characters have been introduced in previous Fool's Gold books. Susan Mallery takes us back to Fool's Gold...the greatest fictional location that we all would like to be real! This time around we get a cowboy story too. I loved Phoebe. She is sweet, a little naïve and was matter-of-fact about her dilemma. No whining, just working through her issues (with a little help from Manny the steer). I liked the new faces of Eddie and Gladys – they showed they are a bit more than man ogling seniors. Zane is a man of few words, but a lot of heart. A sexy cowboy who can kiss - a great combo.

Phoebe travels to Fool's Gold to help her friend Maya. She meets Maya's stepbrother Zane, a quiet man raising his brother Chase. Zane has had responsibility from a young age and treats Chase as he learned from his unloving father. He is afraid of love and feels unworthy, but Phoebe shows him that he is not only capable of love, but can forgive his father as well.

Going on a cattle drive is a good way to learn lessons. The cattle drive is started so Zane can teach his brother a lesson. Zane learns a lot how to love his brother and Phobee. I always look forward to Fool's Gold stories and this one was no exception. Phoebe is the nice girl who is always doing someone a favor and when her latest gets her in trouble she is at lose ends. Then a friend asks her to head to Fool's Gold. Why can't Phoebe ever say no. This time she is helping Zane, the rancher that all the women in Fool's Gold sigh over. His brother has created a problem in the form of a cattle drive that Zane just found out about. I love the conflict between Zane and his brother and step sister. Their interactions remind me of the interactions between my kids even though the characters are older. And the love that develops between Phoebe and Zane makes me sigh. Susan Mallery has again written a story that I couldn't wait to read.

Kiss Me by Susan Mallery was a delight full summer read. It has great characters and a lovely flow to it and it's situated in the fictional town called Fool's Gold. I have read a couple of books by Susan Mallery now and two situated in Fool's Gold and I'm starting to fall in love with the town and it's folks. It's a nice very well written romance story.

It's always a joy to re-visit Fools Gold. I love reading about characters who are fish out of water so to speak. In regards to this book, it's a city girl on a cattle drive, not everyone's cup of tea. Heroines who adapt ad then fit in but still are themselves are intriguing and Susan Mallery does just that. Also, it doesn't hurt to have a few cowboys around. Once again Susan has hit pay dirt. I can't wait for the next one. You wait for one of her books, like this one, but then can't put it down when reading and you finish it just too fast. Good thing there's another one around the corner!

Another great book by Susan Mallery. This book is different from other Fool's Gold books as none of the main characters have been introduced in previous Fool's Gold books. It was a very enjoyable books with a lot of new characters that will probably be developed further in future books. One weird thing that bothers me was the cover. I don't know what the bicycle has to do with the story. Other than that it was an enjoyable read!

Susan Mallery takes us back to Fool's Gold...the greatest fictional location that we all would like to be real! This time around we get a cowboy story too. Phoebe and Zane's story is one of a strong, city dwelling leading lady who meets the man of her dreams on a "City Slickers" style cattle drive. I eagerly await the next in the series, Thrill Me!

The characters in the town Fool's Gold are so real it seems like I really know them. And it's not only the main characters of the story but all the characters. Eddie and Gladys are so memorable I want their story! Zane & Phoebe are not looking for love but find each other during a tourist cattle drive. Can't wait to read the next Fool's Gold book.

Phobee learns how to stand up for herself. One of the other couples learn a lot about loving after a loss. This one will make you laugh and sometimes feel like cheering

Not like the others in the series. It took a long time to figure out why Phoebe fell for Zane. Zane's character was not a pleasure throughout the book, took a lot more understanding, at a slow pace to figure out why she fell for him.

Another trip to the wonderful and enchanting fictional Fool's Gold, California. I always love catching up with our friends there and making new ones. This book is by far my favorite. Mallery touches on the saying "what makes a family." Touching, funny, and with real life characterization. I never tire of this town and its' people.

Take one withdrawn cowboy, one cute girl and a mischievous super intelligent brother who causes havoc and you have the basis for a great story. I love Susan Mallery's Fool's Gold series and the story of Zane and Phoebe rates as one of my favorites. The story flows well and has hints of humor, humility, and passion. I was cheering for Phoebe in hopes she won Zane's heart, but if not, I would have wished for her to run off with Manny her true "rescuer" and leave Zane behind! It was nice to get back to a good story from Fool's Gold. I did not care for the first book in the series. This one was a big improvement. Yes, there were some things that were a little unreasonable but it's a romance novel. I think the story was good. I liked the characters and the setting. Different from those in the past. However, I did think the ending was rushed.

First, I love this series. I love Fool’s Gold, the crazy cast of characters and the Pollyanna type do-good vibe the town stands for. I crave these stories so I can catch up with the people and get wrapped up in new people.
Second, I was just not into this one. I didn’t care for the last one, either. I was hoping the last one was a fluke but 30 or so pages into this one and I was inwardly aching for the series I love so much. This book is better than the last, but still far from my favorite. I didn’t like Zane and could not for the life of me figure out how he was supposed to appeal to me as a hero when he said things like “She was an animal-loving ditz who would bond with a rock if given the chance.” And then proceeds to say she’s “sincere, a patsy.” Gee, be still my beating heart!
I liked Phoebe, she was quirky and sweet…. But both of their stories were odd to me. They didn’t mesh well and there happily ever after was way too fast and not at all believable. I never warmed up to Zane – didn’t get why she was so enamored with a man who grunted his responses and seemed in a terrible mood all the time.
Like the story before this one, it was wrapped up too fast and I’m left with unanswered questions.
The thing that saved this book for me was the side characters and the animals. The steer and Phoebe’s horse had more personality than the hero.
I’m hoping Thrill me will be better than the first two, because so far this threesome is mediocre at best.

Enjoyed it once I got into it but I picked it up and put it down several times before it grabbed me. This is the first Fools Gold book that I started and couldn't remember who the characters were. Love this story about Zane, a rancher & Phoebe, a friend of Zane's ex-stepsister's. Both have deferent views on love. They come together when
Zane's brother comes up with a crazy idea for a cattle drive. Not a lot of the Fools Gold people in this one like previous books but still a wonderful book.

KISS ME - Susan Mallery always delivers a great romance & I really loved this story. Quiet rancher Zane & talkative Phoebe with a teenage brother all on a cattle drive. The thing is – it is listed as a Fool’s Gold novel. Zane’s ranch is in the Fool’s Gold area with of Eddie & Gladys as secondary characters & Major Marsha with a brief appearance. As much as I love Susan Mallory’s writing, this is not a typical Fool’s Gold novel.

This book did not hold my attention. time to flip the page? "Oh look, a squirrel!". I almost didn't even start it, because in the first few chapters, Phoebe takes the fall for something she didn't do--and had no gumption to stand up for herself. She used to write such strong heroines, but this year, both are "poor me, rescue me from myself".
I'll buy "Thrill Me" to complete this year's trilogy. But I hope next year I can read about a new and exciting place--and kiss Fools Gold goodbye.
