Felicia is a socially akward, charming, intelligent female who will make you want to study encyclopedias from A-Z and learn everything you possibly can! Gideon is the handsome, emotionally unavailable man who needs his walls to come tumbling down, and Felicia is the perfect person, with all her logic and knowledge to build them back up. This story has the perfect combination of charm, resistance to love, and acceptance of others; the right ingredients to cook up enough hope and love that ends up with not just a meal, but a dessert you didn't know would be served. Yep, this story has a cherry on top! Susan Mallary also has a way with introducing characters you want to know more about, as well as including past characters you came to care about in previous stories.

I'm going to admit this book took me to chapter five to get into. After that, the story took off for me and I read it quickly.I will give it 4* for that reason. Susan Mallery has done it again in creating a cute, funny and heartwarming novel. Wouldn't we all like to live in a small town community like Fools gold? Its a community surrounded with love and friendships. There are cute, meddling, well meaning friends and family that will have you laughing out loud as you read. I enjoyed the book and looking forward to next novel in this series.

I am a huge fan of the Fool's Gold series. This was another fantastic addition. Felicia is a wonderful character. Definitely not your typical heroine. She's quirky and sweet, smart and vulnerable, witty and insightful. She's awesome. Gideon is sexy and sweet and not quite your typical tortured hero. As always catching up with the other FG residents is so much fun! Kooky mom interference, great friends, and a surprise wedding all add to the pleasure of the H/h story. Another hit for Susan Mallery, cannot wait for the next!

Another great read! Susan Mallery doesn't disappoint with Felicia and Gideon! They both have so many insecurities to overcome and it is not always as easy as we would like it to be for them. Being allowed into their lives and seeing how they work so hard to be together you can't help but cheer them on! I love that these two are so different from the other characters we have gotten to know in Fool's Gold, it makes the heart happy to see how different personalities can meet and mesh so well! Give us all the warm feeling of acceptance we would all like to find in real life!

Two of a Kind is Susan Mallery's latest tale taking place in Fool's Gold, CA, her own fictional town of happy endings. I've loved every book in the series to date and Two of a Kind is no exception. I immediately loved quirky smart girl Felicia Swift when she came onto the scene in Just One Kiss. She's a woman who also happens to be one of the smartest people on the planet who now wants to be normal, find love and live like everyone else. That she grew up without a family and raised surrounded by academics left her with a less than adequate social skill set. I love her wit and the realistic insecurities that chip away at the confidence of such a strong and powerful woman. Love, love, love her.
In Gideon Boylan, Susan has once again come up with the perfect hero for our heroine. He's exactly what she is not looking for, but just the man she needs. Where Felicia wants to settle down, embrace and be a part of the town, Gideon would rather stay on the outskirts where he can appear normal and not have to share the demons he is still fighting with from his time in the service. Much like Felicia, Gideon's flaws only serve to highlight his strengths, but will they be too much and crush what is building between himself and Felicia? You'll need to read the book and discover just how Susan pulls it off. You won't regret it. Just get ready because you'll want to read more about the town and won't stop until you've read every book in the Fool's Gold series. Don't say I didn't warn you.

It seems that since the Big Bang Theory came out authors have been trying their hands at characters who have slightly higher than normal IQs. Some of them can pull this off, some of them cannot. Susan Mallery does a great job of making her heroine seem charmingly sweet and optimistic, annoyingly smart and beautiful, and completely kick butt all at the same time. (It's almost enough to make you hate her, but just keep reminding yourself that she isn't real ^_^)
The hero, Gideon, has some PTSD to work through. Susan does a wonderful job of not just brushing this off in one or two scenes. Gideon's past is a part of him all throughout the book, making his trama seem all the more real and his triumphs all the better.
This is a great addition to the Fool's Gold series and I can't wait to read Three Little Words!

I love this series! I can't wait for the next book. I didn't fall in love with Gideon as much as I would have liked but I completely identified with Felicia. I think that most introverts will identify with her. I know that I have moments when I say the completely wrong thing in social situations wholly by accident. I will say that when I had a really crappy day this was not the book I turned to to give me the distraction/pick-me-up I desperately needed at the time in spite of the fact that I was in the middle of reading the book. I rarely read two books at once but with the awful day I had, switching to a different book was unfortunately necessary. This is the perfect book for summer and I'm very thankful that Ms. Mallery included me in her reading crew but I wish that I had fallen in love with the hero a little bit more and I wish that it had had the extra oomph to raise my spirits. In spite of all that, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys light-hearted romance novels. You will definitely adore the heroine, Felicia. She's awesome!

This was another fun read from the Fools Gold series. I started this series only recently and avidly absorbed this title. Gideon is another of the military heroes that struggles with PTSD, and is most comfortable at night, at the radio station. Felicia is one of my favorite characters - she is so intelligent that it gets in teh way of her people skills - and I can easily relate to the problem with saying the wrong thing! I won't give away some of the plot, but as always, family plays a key role in this series.

Two of a Kind is another Fools Gold hit by Susan Mallery! While you can read this book by itself, reading some other Fools Gold books can enhance your enjoyment of this book. If I were going to pick a couple of other Fools Gold books to read about other characters appearing in this book, I would read Just One Kiss, Justice and Patience's story, and Finding Perfect, Pia's story. Whether you read this book alone, or choose to read other Fools Gold books by Susan Mallery, you are in for an enjoyable romance.

I really enjoyed Two of a Kind. It's another great story set in Fool's Gold. I love the female-centric town and the feel good romances that Susan Mallery creates here. I loved the heroine Felicia. I really empathized with her because she is a little like me, very organized and detail-oriented but with a tendency to provide a somewhat socially awkward explanation for things. I loved the fact that she was quirky but in a different way than most of the Fool's Gold characters. It was refreshing to read. I also like Gideon's character, especially the fact that this hardened solider was petrified of a 13-year old boy. I also loved seeing Felicia, Gideon and Carter become a family, it was very sweet. All-in-all another great read from Susan Mallery.

Two of a Kind by Susan Mallery is yet another wonderful addition to the Fool's Gold series. We've caught glimpses of Gideon in previous books, but now we finally have the Sexiest Voice in Fool's Gold's story. Gideon is the perfect mix of strength and softness, I just wish we had more of him in the book. And Felicia...She might be my favorite character in the series. She's the most honest, caring person there is. I loved her connection with Carter.

The main character in this Fool's Gold novel made me laugh out loud at times. I really enjoyed her. And, of course, any visit to Fool's Gold is time well-spent. The Fool's Gold novels just take me to a place where I can leave my own worries behind for the moment. Though I did enjoy reading it, the story itself was a little disappointing, perhaps because I'm just getting weary of romance novels featuring super-macho ex-Special-Forces/Black-Ops heroes. But Fool's Gold still remains a place I want to be.

I absolutely loved this book. Felicia's character is unique and made me laugh out loud more than once. Sometimes in a series, the writing gets stale, but not with this one! I think the stories are getting better. Although it's a little predictable, I'm still a girl who loves a happy ending. It's also fun to be able to revisit some of the characters that were introduced in previous books and catch up with what is happening with them, although you certainly don't have to read the previous ones to enjoy the new ones. Thanks, Susan, for another winner!

I liked this addition to the Fool's Gold series, especially compared to the previous book Just One Kiss which disappointed me. I really bought the chemistry between Felicia & Gideon, two relative newcomers to town who'd connected previously years ago during a one-night stand. Now they've begun a new "temporary" relationship, but we all know how that will end up! My favorite part of the book is realizing just how many characters we've been introduced to who haven't had a book written about them yet. The Fool's Gold series is destined to go on for a long time!

I had read a Susan Mallery book here and there over the last two years, but the well-written, original characters of Felicia and Gideon drove me to read my way through he Fool's Gold series (my summer indulgence).
Felicia's quirks and straightforward dialogue made me laugh out loud, but treasure her spirit an inner struggle. Gideon, while smokin' hot, is wonderfully complex. This story contains great twists and turns while maintaining authenticity in its plot and to its characters.
I would love to have seen her turn up the heat even more in the intimate scenes, which she has done in a few other books. Still, a great read that I will be putting on my "Read Again" bookshelf on my e-reader.

As usual Susan Mallery wrote a great new addition to Fool's Gold Series, Felicia meets Gideon again after a one nighter. They get start getting to know each other. Felicia is an intelligent woman who always looks at things in a text book way. Gideon owns a radio station. Felicia has friends that are special ops in Fool's Gold and they are all making sure she doesn't get hurt by Gideon, Read and see why. Love this book as I have all the others in the Fool's Gold Series. Can't wait to read the next one. Had me laughing and tearing up in parts.

In Two Of A Kind, Susan Mallery stepped it up a couple of hot notches. Being introduced to Felicia brought laughs that rumbled forth like never before. Susan's knack of weaving and intertwining words into a story with the characters we have grown to love and the new that we are being introduced to, really hits the spot like no other book of hers has done before. As a faithful reader, I am appreciating the change in Susan's writing that is showing in her latest Fool's Gold novel. Welcome back to the Land Of Happy Endings!

I have read almost every single Susan Mallery book and I have loved them all, but I have to say Two of a Kind is one of my favorites! I love that Ms. Mallery can create a world with so many different characters. She weaves her stories in a way that makes us feel a part of that world and fall in love with all of the characters. Felicia and Gideon are an excellent addition to the Fool's Gold family. I was riveted the whole time and could not wait for them to have their happily ever after!

This book was just wonderful. The characters are so much fun. Felicia is just delightful; watching her learn to talk normal, to be normal, to deal with emotions that she is not used to. I also enjoyed watching Gideon deal with all of his new challenges. It was great seeing all the old characters from previous books, keeping up with their lives as the they interact with Felicia and Gideon. And it's always fun to meet the new characters like Consuelo and Carter. Fool's Gold Is just a fun place to visit. I can't wait for the next book.

Two Of A Kind is another big hit for Susan. I have to say it took me a few chapters to get going but once I got past chapter 3 I was breezing and I realized that this was another hit. The bodyguards are just so delicious and once they get their business up and running wow I know that I will be drooling more. I am so glad that years ago I got addicted to Susan Mallery and the Fools Gold Series.

When Felicia sets her sights on Gideon he warns her that there will be no future for them...but what happens when Gideon gets the surprise of a lifetime? These two will have some choices to make but in the end there's truly only one right path.
Susan had me laughing and crying as I caught up with the trials and antics of the citizens of Fools Gold. Whether this is your first visit to this charming little town, or you're a wannabe local like myself, you won't be disappointed!

This is an excellent story. Felicia is wonderful and Ms. Mallery did an wonderful job of portraying her with all her foibles. She is so open with her difficulties that I couldn't help but love her. Gideon was introduced earlier in the series. We knew there were some things going on but so closed off to talking about it he was a mystery. It was fun to explore these two as they learn more about themselves and each other.
Totally recommend this story and series.

Susan Mallery's latest book Two of Kind is a great summer read. It tells the story of Felicia Swift's quest to be "normal" and to find love. Journey back to Fools Gold California and watch Felicia figure out what home and love really are. I love the Fool's Gold series from Susan Mallery and this entry into the series does not disappoint at all. The story of Felicia and Gideon, is funny, light hearted and a warm story of love and courage. Pick up this book, to read by the pool, beach where ever, you won't be disappointed.

Once again Susan Mallery pulls you in and holds you captive till the end. I was prepared upon opening this book to adore Felicia and I sure wasn't disappointed. Socially clumsy and awkward, but so thoroughly charming and honest. The conversations and the building relationships between Felicia and Gideon of course, but also between them and their friends as well as the town are refreshing and entertaining. Be careful what you are drinking as you may snort it back through your nose.
Settle in and prepare to fall in love. Fools Gold has another hit of a story.

I was very impressed with Two of a Kind. It was one of the best books I've read in a while. The book was very compelling and a heart warmer. Felicia was a great character that really pulled you in. You can't help but like her and want all the best for her and for her to reach all of her goals! Gideon is also a great character that you just want to tell him that it's all right and he can be happy. Susan did a great job of making the story interesting with some really great twists. Like I said before, one of the best Fools Gold books that I have read! I highly suggest reading this one!

Susan Mallery does not disappoint in this addition to the Fool's Gold series. A great beach read and kept my interest from the beginning. Can read as a stand alone but even better if or when you read the rest of the Fool's Gold books and see the interaction between the regular characters. Love to see what's going on in everyones live's as we get to visit every summer with each new trilogy released. Cant' wait for the next story coming the end of July....Ford Hendrix...hot hot hot.

I feel kind of bad posting a negative review, because it is clear that many people loved this book. However, I could not finish this book. The writing was very mechanical (even without Felicia's already wooden dialogue), and I felt that the characters lacked dimension. Granted, I haven't read any other books in the series, so the characters may have been introduced in earlier books. There is a little more sex and more graphic descriptions of it than in your average romance, but nothing that should turn readers off. If you enjoyed this book and, especially, Felicia's character, you would definitely enjoy The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. It is infinitely better written and far more engaging.

Just One Kiss had me enthralled and eager for the next book in the Fool's Gold series. Two of a Kind did not disappoint. I simply loved both Felicia and Gideon, and how two people with challenges and vulnerabilities can overcome them. Felicia is refreshing in her honesty and made me laugh several times, and Gideon is her perfect match. I love the town of Fool's Gold and its residents! I hope this series continues for many books to come!

This is the next Fools Gold story, the story of Felicia and Gideon., two people who both believe they don't fit in. They knew each other before, but now they are drawn together by attraction and an understanding of their "damaged" histories. I loved it!!! I just loved Felicity's energy from Just One Kiss and couldn't wait to read her story. Felicity is looking for a place she can feel normal and believes Fools Gold is it. I found Two of a Kind to be a very endearing book. I love all the books in the Fools Gold series and this one was no exception. I really enjoyed how Felicia just wanted to be "normal" but everyone she came in contact loved her just the way she was. Throughout this book, I also really enjoyed how we were able to know the thoughts of the teenagers as well. It was wonderful reading how Felicia was coming into her own in Fools Gold and how it was becoming her home. I cannot wait for more books from this series (really cannot wait to Isabel and Ford's story) as I always look forward to their release.

I bought this book in the grocery store simply for the desire to hold the "book" in my hands. I have an ebook as well.
I have read Susan Mallery in the past and been disappointed by her scattered ideas and far out, unbelievable characters. I'm not going to give a synopsis of the story. You can catch that on other reviews. What I will say is that Ms Mallery has honed her writing abilities to make her 'quirkness' work..."Big Bang Theory" meets romance novel. Absolutely loved this one. Since I didn't read the first 2 installments, I'm downloading to my ebook to read them. Looking forward to the next one...my question is whose story is it going to be? Consuelo/Kent or Isobele/Ford...? Hum? Waiting with bated breath...

Gideon and Felicia shared a brief encounter 4 yrs ago. Now they are living in the same town. Gideon swears he is not a "forever" kind of guy but Felicia wants a husband & family, the whole thing. Susan Mallery once again crafts a wonderful story that will keep your attention from page one. Added to that, Felicia is just plain funny. She is "freakishly smart" and a bit socially awkward, but is trying to learn to fit in. Her journey kept me laughing.
Two of a Kind is the second of this summer's Fool's Gold trilogy. It can be read as a stand alone, but you will learn more about the other characters and be introduced to Felicia if you begin with Just One Kiss. Either way, don't miss reading Two of a Kind. Looking forward to Three Little Words, due out later this month.

Just finished reading Two of a Kind by Susan Mallery. I have read the Fool's Gold series from the beginning when the town was filled with mostly women. This is a story of 2 newcomers to the town. Felicia is so book smart but she has problems with day to day interactions and with spiders. While Gideon has a radio show that brings him into everyone's lives each night, he rather live alone. Getting these two people to realize that it is through connecting with each other and the town, that they will live a complete life. It is a good story and can't wait till it continues in Susan's next book. I wish I could find the town of Fool's Gold!

I'm not going to tell you what this book is about...you can get that from the back cover or online. What I am going to tell you is the delight you get as
you read. At the start I found myself chuckling. Later I laughed out loud, so much so that my husband demanded that I read to him what had me
laughing. Still later I was in tears. Do I recommend this book? You Bet!
It has small town charm plus Ms.Mallerys wonderful in-depth characters & believe me Felicia is a character ! But perhaps she's met her match in
Gideon. You'll just have to read and see. As for me, I'm moving to Fools Gold (I wish).

I have been looking forward to this book; I enjoyed the glimpse of Felicia in the previous book, Just One Kiss, and had high expectations for this book. I have to say, this is easily one of my favorite characters from Fool's Gold. Felicia, self-conscious about her smarts and Gideon, afraid he will never be 'normal', make the perfect pair, they are literally 'Two of a Kind'!
I received an ARC in exchange for my review, but in no way, shape, or form does that weigh on my opinion of the book.

As always Susan Mallery provides an enjoyable read and Two of A Kind was no different. There were many spots in this story that had me laughing; Felicia is an interesting character. I do wish there was more time spent on delving into Gideon's character. He went through a lot and I felt like there should have been more time spent resolving his issues.
As others have said, some of the things mayor Marsha said were a bit on the creepy side as far as knowing things. Where previously it seemed more like information she acquired some secret way, in this story it came off like she was psychic. Overall I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to Ford's story in Three Little Words.

Yet another wonderful book in the Fool's Gold series. I love meeting new residents of Fool's Gold, and Felicia Swift and Gideon Boylan are no exception. Felicia's straightforward, no-nonsense style is refreshing, and her social awkwardness and determination endearing. As upset as I want to be at Gideon for some of his actions, he truly believes he has Felicia's best interests at heart, and who wouldn't fall in love with a guy like that? I can't wait to see how their lives progress as the Fool's Gold series continues.

This has to be one of my favorite books in this series. Felicia is like a female version of Sheldon Cooper or Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock but a little more personable. She's super smart and doesn't have a filter. She'll say whatever she thinks needs to be said no matter how scientific her response is. Gideon is also one of my favorite guys of this series. He has a very interesting back story. Also I so want to hang out at Brew-haha Coffee Shop.

Felicia is a completely different character than most of the women in Fool's Gold, she is smart, beautiful, and someone who has a hard time to make friends. Gideon has suffered as a prisoner of war and has seen how love (his other pow's in his group), has hurt their survival and has shut himself out of ever being loved. Their story is unique because of their different lives. Felicia from the first time she saw him was attracted to him where he was just out for a quick sexual encounter. Bringing their story in Just one Kiss has made this book interesting to read.

So great to be back in Fools Gold!! Being a bit of a nerd myself, I instantly found myself wrapped up in the world of Felicia and Gideon. From her blossoming out of her social awkwardness to him learning it's okay to love, that it takes strength to do so, it was a great love story with two more unique characters to add to the Fool's Gold world. On top of that, the foreshadowing is great- I can't wait to hear everyone else's stories!!

Susan Mallery has done it again! I loved this book. The main characters in this book Felicia and Gideon are not your average, everyday people. Felicia has awkward moments which Im pretty sure most of us have had and I think thats what makes her so lovable. Gideon has his issues with PTSD, so he has the moment where he's emotionally unavailable. We get to see both of them grow through out the book and see how love can really help you work through your problems. Another reason I liked this book was the fact that it has its funny moments where you cant help but laugh. I would definitely recommend this book to friends and family.

I enjoy this whole Fools Gold Series. There's a formula to them, but that's OK. You like the characters and want them to work out their issues. Good people. A great town, the kind we all wish we lived in at some point in our lives. There are recurring characters who pop up for continuity in all these books.

Not only is Felicia my favorite character from Just One Kiss.. but she has managed to be one of my all time favorite characters in a book EVER! I can not express how great this book was!! I can truly say I can't wait for the next installment! Susan Mallery manages to make me feel so involved in her books.. it's seriously crazy! I also love the pure honesty that Felicia speaks! It's awesome to have a character that I feel like I can relate to!

I have been intrigued by Gideon since meeting him in A Fool's Gold Christmas and I was not disappointed by his story. He and Felicia are both emotionally guarded because of past experiences. Felicia is open to change while Gideon will not let himself care. How they work together with their shared past experience as well as their current situation makes for a wonderful story.

Really enjoyed this story from Fools Gold. Felecia is so book smart that she feels she scares people off. Gideon is truly battle scarred and afraid to let anyone get close. How they come together is something I really enjoyed. Susan Mallery did a great job with developing these characters and bringing old friends back together again in Fools Gold. This is actually one of my favorite stories from Fools Gold and I would highly recommend it

I couldn't wait to read Felicia's story. I loved everything about her, especially her formal speech. She was so likable. I like the reoccurring characters. Nice to know what is going on in their lives. Not my most favorite of the series. I thought the ending was a little too abrupt and I have a hard time reading about men sitting around talking about their feelings. Still an enjoyable read.
I can't wait to see what happens with Ford, Isabel, Angel, Kent, and Consuelo.

I have only recently discovered Susan Mallery and her wonderful town of Fool's Gold and I am so thrilled that I have. It's such a pleasure to read a well-written story and a happy, romantic, adventurous one! Each book in the Fool's Gold series has introduced me town folk who make me smile, who I want to know and visit with.
Felicia and Gideon's romance is special, and I enjoyed the ride it took me on. I can't wait to see what happens next!

I am a new fan of Susan Mallory, having only read one of her previous books which I loved. I am new to the Fools Gold trilogy as well so I was happy to find I could read this book without having to read the previous ones first. Having said this I found Two of a Kind to be just ok. I did enjoy reading Felicia and Gideon's love story but it just didn't leave me with the feeling that I couldn't put it down.

I am a huge Susan Mallery fan and an even bigger fan of the Fool's Gold series but I did not enjoy reading Two of a Kind. I could not connect with the main character, Felicia and the story line was too predictable. There was a cool twist in the middle of the book that I did enjoy but I was still bored during most of the book. I would still recommend reading this book and this particular series but I personally have enjoyed other books by Mallery.

Two of a kind is truly one of a kind in my book... Corny I know but when you read it you will see my words are true. I really love the Fool's Gold Series and after reading this book I love it even more. Most of the love stories became ver predictable but this one was a little more interesting to me mainly because of Felicia's personality and the fact that the normal human emotions that the average person goes through it was all new to her, which make this a great read just to she how she handled these new ideas and concepts. Gideon's character was really refreshing to me too, he enjoyed being alone but accepted Felicia and was willing to have her in his life. I laughed a lot out loud with this book, Carter and Reese were so funny and Susan Mallery truly captured how teenage boys would react in the situation. I highly recommend the Fool's Gold Series, each story is wonderful in their own right but Susan Mallery does a great job interlock each story which makes it easy to follow and get hooked. Happy Reading, looking forward to the next installment.

Another winner from Susan Mallery, this is a great read for the beach. A flawed hero who is afraid to love, a heroine who is afraid to fail, and a town that believes in them both make this a terrific read for the summer. The town of Fool's Gold and the townspeople make this book all the more fun. If you're a fan of Susan's works or of Fool's Gold, this book will be a great escape to enhance your day...no matter where you are.

Is it hot in here or is it sparks flying off the pages from Gideon and Felicia? The first two chapters will get you hooked if you ar not already with Fools Gold characters! It was great to see these two come together and find out that they are not so broken after all. Not only do they heat up the pages but they find that sometimes life can throw you curve balls. Two of a Kind is a great follow up from Just One Kiss and Susan doesnt miss with the humor, love and those curve balls!

This is the first Fool's Gold book that I had a hard time getting into. The first 1/3 of the book seemed a little slower to me than her others in the series and it took me a few days to read that far in. I was greatly disappointed until just after that first 1/3. From there it really picked up and I finished the book in a few hours. By the end of the book, I actually even had some tears in my eyes. Still gave it 4 stars because I loved the last part of the story so much.

Just when you thought you had the rest of the plot figured out, Susan Mallery throws a few spanners into the works and turns everything upside down. A few excellent plot twists, great title characters, and some hilarious moments that had me chuckling as I read. A must read full of energy, endearing returning Fool's Gold characters and a few new ones that have great potential.

Wow! Finally we get to hear Gideon's story and it is a doosey. I fell in love with Carter. Susan does a great job with depicting a teenage personality. Felicia - well no words can really describe her, she is an awesome person. How many degrees does she have again? There are a few surprises in this story, you can't help but feel sorry for Ford. The Hendrix family is a hoot. I think that everyone will fall in love with Felicia too.
Anyway - I highly recommend reading this book - lots of humor, sensitivity, sad scenes, and goofy romance that only Susan can write. She has done it again.

I am a big fan of Susan Mallery's writing. I have followed this series since the beginning. This book brings to life a character named Gildeon who has been a mystery to us. Just a voice in the radio. We see his pain and understand his suffering and am so happy we have gotten to witness some joy and love for him. Cant wait to start the next book Three Little Words..

I love having a visit back to Fool's Gold. I really loved this book!! You can jump right into the storyline and you feel as though you are visiting old friends. Felicia, the main character, is new to town and wants to fit in. Due to a different childhood and her over the top brilliance, she has a hard time trying to fit in. Because the town is made up of such nice people, she is taken in right away. Her biggest problem is with love. She has a history with Gideon and needs to see if they can start over. With lots of town events and a few surprises, this is an amazing visit back to Fool's Gold. I just can't wait for Three Little Words next!!!!

I'm not going to sugarcoat it, I didn't begin to enjoy "Two of a Kind" until halfway through. The first half seemed static. However, with the extremely random appearance of Carter came new life for the book. The story seemed to have purpose with the appearance of Gideon's unknown teenage son (whom you'll adore within 5 minutes of his introduction).
At the end of the day, it wasn't my favorite Mallery book, but I'll continue to read the series because Susan Mallery is the fantastic author of mounds of easy-hearted, funny and meaningful reads (most of which are great beach reads).

Felicia and Gideon's story really tugged at my heartstrings and I was drawn in from page one. Susan did an excellent job portraying Felicia's emotions as a woman who just wanted to be considered "normal". You can always count on Susan Mallery's Fools Gold series. Her characters are extremely believable because they are just like people we all know - they have faults and problems and aren't perfect. I loved Felicia; she was such an intelligent lady that just wanted to be "normal." Her way of reaching that goal was funny and heartfelt. The very first sentence of the very first chapter was enough to let me know that I was gonna love this book!! (Read the first sentence and tell me that it doesn't make you chuckle!) Felicia and Gideon's story was so much fun for me. Felicia is a very literal person but she seems like she would be so much fun......which is just what Gideon needs. He's been through hell and back and is afraid to love anyone because he feels it's a sign of weakness. Poor Gideon! He has no clue what just hit him! This book was one of my favorites so far in this series. Put this one on your "to be read" list - you won't be sorry!

I really enjoyed Ms. Mallery's latest book. I thought it was an interesting change of pace, having such a quirky heroine as Felicity. It was a nice change from the normal cookie-cutter heroine from many romance novels. And I especially liked that Gideon appreciated Felicity for who & what she was, without trying to change her.
Another winning entry in the Fool's Gold series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but since many of the characters were in prior books, it makes for a much richer read if read as part of a series.

A wonderful love story that will have you laughing and crying. A story of Gideon, the POW who struggles with his military past and to keep it from his current life. He is smart, strong and very sexy. I am a Susan Mallery reader but the connection wasn't felt in this book. Felicia was kind of unbelieveable the way she was smart at something but too naive at some. I found her to be somewhat pathetic and always the one to initiate and Gideon accepting what she tossed. Gideon did not put any effort at expressing himself and found it hard to feel the connection. Felicia and Carter had a very good connection and was a pleasure to read.

I have loved the Fool's Gold series ever since the first book in the series. I love how each story is special all by itself as well as adding to the overall story by drawing you in and loving the Town and the characters. Gideon is a mysterious man and you get to get inside his head and heart. I love how his feelings are raw and you can only imagine what soldiers go through every day. For Felicia you can't help but love her. She is blunt, honest, and completely real. Her extreme intelligence only makes you want to be her friend. I can't wait to see how her story expands as the series continues.

The attraction and sexual tension between Felicia and Gideon is high. After a quick sex encounter, the story went back to the beginning where they officially date and learn about each other again. The development of the characters is superficial but that doesn't distract the reader too much as one looks forward to a happy ending.

I am a HUGE fan of this author. She can write beautiful stories and the flow of each one is perfect. I admit to being behind a little bit in this series, but what I like about her books is that you don't have to be caught up! Each book can be a stand alone even if it is part of a series. Oh Gideon, you couldn't have be more wrong and the "misfit" Felicia is the perfect person to show you that. The fact that they couldn't have been more different from each other made them see that they were only damaged in only their own eyes. Once again, revisiting Fool's Gold was so much fun; to catch up with previous characters and follow the journey of Felicia and Gideon. In Two of a Kind you won't be able to help falling in love with the unbelievably smart Felicia - she has no idea how her straightforward statements affect people. The unconditional love Felicia offers to Gideon and a surprise character is so heartwarming. In Fool's Gold the town comes together for its own and welcomes anyone new - what could be better than that? This is another great Fool's Gold series book by Susan. Thanks Susan!

Next up in the wonderful Fool's Gold series Two of a Kind. Moving on from Just One Kiss which I felt it was more of a set up to the rest of the summer stories meeting Felicia was the most exciting thing and I couldn't wait to see her fall in love. I was not disappointed in Two of A Kind with all the twists it was one to remember. I loved this story of two outsiders realizing that all they needed to belong was each other... with a little help from the wonderful characters of Fool's Gold. Seeing these two reconnect is becoming a theme through the books and I can't wait for Three Little Words and the final re-connection summer book.

I'm not going to lie, I wasn't really looking forward to reading about Felicia but I was excited to finally read about Gideon. Wow, was I surprised. I loved reading how Felicia evolved and I found myself laughing put loud at some of the things she said. I was surprised at Felicia's job offfer and even more pleasently surprised at how well if actually fit her. The child that arrived in the middle of the book really threw me off. I was NOT expecting that! Susan Mallery did a nice job incorporating him into the story without making it seem rushed and odd. I ended up liking this one better than the first and can't wait to read the next book!

This is another great addition to the Fools Gold series from Susan Mallery. In the beginning I wasn't sure I could warm up to Felicia's character, but it didn't take long for Susan's magic to take hold and from then on I couldn't put the book down. Gideon's son was a surprise, but certainly added more depth and emotions for all to work through. I'm ready for the next great book in this series. Please keep it coming our way Susan!

Mallery's books are romance with great humor and touching storytelling. Her female characters are strong, insightful, and endearing. Felicia is an intellectual learning to cope with everyday situations and feelings. I can't wait to read the next installment in the Fool's Gold series! I absolutely loved it!

I am a huge fan of Susan Mallery. I do enjoy the Fool's Gold Series. It is definitely time to out it to rest. The series gotten far away from the original books, to a point I think that they are plain silly and unbelievable. This one was just too much for me. A woman who is so smart her parents sent her away where she was raised at college and with strangers? She has no social interactions so her conversations are very methodical and text book. due to no social interactions except for professors. Too far fetched. Gideon's character is more believable, but to the other end of the spectrum where he didn't want to interact with people. I agree with some other reviews. If you area die hard reader of the Fools Gold series, read it. But if not, truly pass on this one.

Keeps on getting better and better. Starting originally with the Hendrix family, it is slowly coming full circle filling in the dots of who Ford Hendrix has become based on his friend's experiences within similar companies. Your heart can't help but fall in love with these "wounded" soldiers. Gideon and Felicia aren't your run of the mill people, Gideon dealing with PTSD and Felicia learning how to become a part of society, makes these two lovable and only wanting them to finally say "I love you". Thanks for another great read and looking forward to the next!!

I enjoyed reading Susan Malley's most recent addition to the Fool's Gold series. She took two interesting but flawed characters and made them work together as a couple. I really cared about whether Felicia and Gideon would overcome their personal challenges in order to be together in the end. Plus, Ms. Mallery doesn't forget to include updates on characters from her earlier books in the series. It makes me wish I could live there, too. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Alright, I admit I am a HEA addict and I'm glad to report that Ms. Mallery keeps me amply supplied with my my fixes. I loved, loved, loved Felicia and Gabriel--two people who never quite fit in with the "normal" people but were made for each other. I never think that I can like the next hero any better than the last one in the Fool's Gold series, but once again I am proven wrong--something about Gabriel takes a hold of your heartstrings and pulls tight. Felicia is so adorably socially awkward that you can't help but love her. Grab this book--you want be sorry.

Once again the town of Fools Gold comes to life. This is a fantastic book. Felisha is the most unique character I can remember from all time. You have to live her as she tries to make herself normal and fit into what she thinks of as a normal life. I am so in love with the idea of her. Thanks again to Mallery for a fantastic book and please keep bringing them to us.

I am a huge fan of the Fool's Gold series, but I have to say this was my favorite story so far. Felicia is an extremely likeable character who says what's on her mind and in her heart. She's not playing head games, just being herself, faults and all. Gideon was a terrific leading man, all strong and sexy. As always, it was fun catching up with characters from previous Fool's Gold novels.

The Fool's Series is my favorite and Two of a Kind did not disappoint. Susan Mallery has woven together the characters from the first book into all her stories. I haven't read all the Fool's Gold books, but I just might go back and do that after reading this one. It was so much fun! Despite the main and subsidiary characters all having been through a lot, the people in Fool's Gold always find a way to bring humor, healing and caring together in an enjoyable way without being sappy.
In Two of a Kind particularly, I found the heroine to be one of the most relatable to me, as she was somewhat--ha! Of an OCD nerd, perfectionist, like me, and I just loved her!

I have read or listened to every book in the series. Generally, I like the stories about the people, and the town, and the romances make me feel all warm and fuzzy. This one... didn't do it for me.
The characters, I think, were too complex for a story in this genre, and as such, they were at times very cliche, and at times nothing short of ridiculous.
Also it felt like there was a larger-than-usual amount of time spent on character development for future stories, and so this mediocre book, which could have been much deeper and more compelling, given how deep the characters could have been, but weren't, felt like little more than a pass-through to the next one.
And WHAT THE HECK is up with Denise Hendricks? Her character was one of the more stable ones in this rich community, and now she has become a joke. Sad.
So why am I even giving this book three stars? Because I can't give up on the series just yet... and I don't want you to, either. Sigh.

I'm always so excited for the next Fool's Gold novel to come out and Susan never fails to disappoint. Each novel can be read on it's own or as part of the continuing story of Fools Gold and Two of a Kind is no exception. Felicia is a character anyone can sympathize with and feel for because we've all been that girl that hasn't quite fit in at one point or another and Gideon is that bad boy we all fell for and tried to forget but never could really do so. Fabulous story for anyone looking for a new author or those who are anxious to get back to Fool's Gold to see what our friends are all up to.

Another great read from Susan Mallery!! "Two of Kind" tells the story of Felicia and Gideon. They met one 'hot' night in Thailand, and were split apart the following morning by two of Felicia's 'brotherly' black ops co-workers! Reunited in Fool's Gold, the two resume their relationship, although Gideon states he does not do serious! Felicia is bold, beautiful, brainy, and brave, the right combination to entice Gideon. Susan Mallery's dialogue for Felicia is outstanding, the technical and clinical conversations she has with other characters is hilarious!! Fool's Gold is my favorite series!

If you like Susan Mallery you will love this book!!! I was excited to read Felicia's story and see how her relationship would develop with Gideon as well as the rest of the Fool's Gold characters. I loved reading Felicia's journey and felt like she is the Fool's Gold character that I have related to the most, being socially awkward and trying to fit in but not always knowing what the best way to do that. This book is part of The Fool's Gold series but you don't need to have read the series to enjoy the book. It's fine as a stand-alone. I loved Felicia and enjoyed watching her character grown and go after what she wanted in life. Two of A Kind was a quick, but truly enjoyable read. I laughed, cried and fell in love with Fool's Gold all over again. You had a pretty good idea of the outcome based on the previous book, but you fell in love with awkwardly social Felicia and emotionally lost Gideon. Two of a Kind has a different twist to it. Felicia Swift is not the usual heroine -- she reminds me a bit of Sheldon Cooper on "Bing Bang Theory" -- but much warmer. It's fun to watch her as she learns the way of the world -- and falls in love.
