An emotional romance piece: no suspense or mystery unless you consider guessing when Emma and Cooper will finally have meaningful sex as suspense. Emma has to learn to love herself and Cooper has to learn to deal with Emma and family issues.

Definitely heart wrenching, but a perfect conclusion to the story of Homecoming Ranch and its trio of sisters. You get to see the gritty side of Emma. And like with the other two books (and sisters), you see her overcome her beliefs of who she is.

I enjoyed the book but I did think it moved a little slow. Skipped the one chapter of Leo just talking and talking to the reader. I will read the others in the series but compared to other books I have read it is a four star.
A Man With One of Those Faces (The Dublin Trilogy Book 1) :: Broken Homes (Rivers of London) :: Return to Homecoming Ranch (Pine River Book 2) :: Moon Over Soho (Rivers of London) :: Midnight Riot (Rivers of London)

This book was heart warming, and brought family together when they started out as regretting each other. This book hit home with my family as we had similar events in our family as do many other families.

Julia London has a way with words, no doubt about it. Throughout this series, she has developed her characters so well that you can't help but care for them. I particularly enjoyed the wonderful humour expressed by Leo. He is definitely one of a kind!

Loved Emma! Well to be honest I loved to hate her at first but wow does she have her reason for being so closed off ! Leo, fantasticly outspoken and snarky! Cooper, perfect match for Emma! Great conclusion to the Pine River trilogy

The Perfect Homecoming is a book that was amazing. Leo is a wonderfully person. He was a genius as he said in the book. His stories had a special quality and help Emma get back to the safe shore. We all need a Leo in our lives to give some of his strength and courage and heart.

I just finished all three books in this series Pine River. As I read I so looked forward to the chapters of Leo's point of view. Laughter, sorrow, envy, dislike and love is the emotions I felt reading all three stories. Highly recommend, even though we loose Leo in the end he completed what he wanted for his family and it was a joyful ending.

Just a so-so read. A pretty decent study in the psychology of women growing up without a father figure, but characters could have been better defined. This is the first book by this author I have read, so I will try at least one more of her books.

I loved this book because it dealt with the realities of life, it's cruelties, diseases and overwhelming love. Enjoyed all the Homecoming Ranch books but this was my favorite. Leo was my favorite for his wisdom, acceptance and love of all.

From lukewarm to awful to ???
Be forewarned if you buy this book: The first in the series was so-so, not up to Ms London's standards, I thought. The second book was purely awful. I am attempting to finish it because I paid for it and I hate for anything to go to waste. I will NOT buy this third book in the series! I am very disappointed, because Julia London has been a favorite author for years. Perhaps she should have stayed with historical novels.

Overall I liked the series, but this book was just depressing. Emma was a heartbreaking character and Cooper was a mix of hero and cold blooded jerk. My favorite character was Leo. I feel like I am in morning for myself as well as Emma. Hard to recommend a series, good as it was, that I wish I had not read.

Emma has problems. Real serious problems. She has kept it all bottled in for so long she has no idea who she is. Where she starts and where she ends...then along comes Cooper who likes her for her not her body. Who treats her differently. And wants to know what makes Emma tick. Emma is not so sure about all that. She knows she has problems and they will only get in the way.

Strong, relatable, and flawed characters make this novel come together and enhances the main and minor storylines.

While the reader is not left hanging, some questions still are unanswered. While this is the third book in a trilogy, I suspect other readers will have the same feelings that the sisters story is not yet done, nor is that of Homecoming Ranch.

I absolutely loved this book! It was comical, yet bittersweet. I was a bit concerned about getting this book after reading some other reviews. However, I got the audio version and the performer, Tawnia Ebee (sp?), did fantastic job. The audio versions are the way to go, if available. I am definitely going to continue reading/listening to other books by Julia London.

It took me awhile to get into this story, as I loved the two previous stories in this series but once I did...you truly feel sorry for her, as painfully honest as she is, you can tell deep down she is hurting so badly that she needs to find someone to trust and love and who will love her back. She meets Cooper at a previous event in LA that she helped with but now he has been tasked with tracking her down.

Wonderful ending to a series that will keep you engaged throughout the story.
