I loved this book. Just what I've come to expect from Christine Feehan, a wonderful mix of action, romance, a good story and great sex. The thing I like the most is that this author keeps the continuity of her stories intact and the flow natural. I would recommend this book and this author to anyone who loves to read, give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

I won't go into the synopses as others already have but what an unfortuanate mess! Since 1999 I've always bought Feehan's books as soon as they hit the shelves. I had that much faith in her. No more. Street Game aside from being too similar to Feehan's last few stories, was way too long and dare I say DULL? The Mack and Jaimie characters felt very much like hero and heroines from Feehan's last 5 novels! The women are attractive, vulnerable, talented but emotionally weak. They offer token resistance to the hero then not only cave in, they are able to overcome all their conflicts and display unconditional almost lap dog devotion. Great except there are still about 300 pages to go.

I forced my self to continue but admit to being really disappointed. Whether it's the Dark series, Ghostwalkers or her other series, these alpha males and their mates all feel and act the same. There is little character development and even the villains are a bore. The dialogue is unimaginative and the stories seem formulated. By the time I got to the end I could have cared less about the characters, their mission etc. I think I'll take a Feehan break now. When she's ready to write like she's interested in more than just meeting a deadline I'll be waiting. In the mean time I'll read the reviews first from now on.

I love this series. It is exciting and romantic. I love how the men try to dominate but usually end up with a woman who knows her own mind and body. The men end up wraped around the womans finger. She is a great author.

Great book. This story shows how strong the female life mates are and how they never let the men walk all over them. On the other hand shows also how the men will do anything to be what their women want and only want to make them happy.

This book is a book to die for. It takes you on vacation of a lifetime.
You get to travel to the rainforest and the romance is supper. Christin Feehan knows how to connect the past with the present that if you are not a fan of her Dark Series, it will make you want to go and collect the rest of her book. I give it a big thumb up.

I'm sure you've all seen the other reviews... so I won't go over the storyline again. This story was not the usual standard for Christine Feehan. Usually she focuses almost exclusively on the couple, but this time she was trying hard to bring in the rest of the team into the story. I found that it annoyed me more than endeared me to the team. Also, I didn't like the hero... Mack just got on my nerves because he simply wouldn't listen and steamrollered over Jamie again, which was why she left him in the first place. Sometimes I don't like main characters at the beginning but grow to like them later as the mature, but this time I didn't like him all the way through. I also think that after so many years alone Jamie should have had the backbone to stand up to him more and throw him out or left when he was being obnoxious. The ongoing banter between the team was distracting and at times annoying because it didn't really seem to fit with the team. Over all, this is not one of Christines best efforts.

I love Christine Feehan's Carpathian series and was looking forward to this one. The story was fairly good but the main male character,Zacarias, is just not likeable. You don't root for the two of them to get together. In fact, sometimes you just cringe at the way he treated Marguarita. I know he's had a hard life, but a lifemate is supposed to soften some of the edges and he basically abused her for a good portion of the book. Sorry, I was a bit dissapointed.

The book was in perfect shape. I enjoy Christine Feehan's writing but would consider it mature audience only, my 22 yr old Granddaughter is reading my collection and enjoying it but I won't let my 14 yr old have them yet.

Crhistine Feehan is super in the art of writing vampire and carpathians dark series books, I wish I had started from book 1. I can hardly put the book down. I was surprised at how she explains the vampires, quite differant from True Blood and a lot of the vampire movies. And boy those Carpathian men.

This is book number 15 of the "Dark Series". I am in the process of reading the entire series. I enjoy the characters, the humor and the danger. If you like strong women, confident men and a good mystery you'll enjoy these books. The are very descriptive, sexy, and sometimes gruesome.

Every book in the Dark series never fails to capture the reader and hold them in the story. I always feel like I'm reading about characters I already know, without feeling like there was no closure to the book. I love the old word settings, where men could be counted on to protect and care for family. They have honor and loyalty, and Christine Feehan works magic with her characters and stories. I will always be a great fan, and purchase any book written by Ms. Feehan because she never, never disappoints.

I love Feehan books, but this one was probably my least favorite ever. Confusing plot, characters difficult to empathize with, repetitive scenes, lots of innuendo and metaphor that really never materializes into solid, interesting information. Since it's part of a series and these characters/stories are so interwover, I suppose I'd recommend reading it just for continuity. Some of the secondary characters were much more interesting that the main couple, so maybe some of those stories will materialize into better stories later.

I have read almost all of the dark series and must say that I like them. I have a tendency to skip over some of the love scenes at times, but I like the total story line and the idea of one eternal love/lifemate/soulmate. That there are no others but them. This is a typical Feehan Dark Series read. You could change the cover page and get the same principal story, but then you wouldn't get to know each Carpathian.

I have been reading her books for years. She is one of the most interesting
authors. Not only does the book keeps you on your toes but she has a way
of wanting to keep on reading to find out what will happen next.

This is by far one of the best books in this series. I have read the entire series and I recommend this book extremely highly. The characters are full and rich, the plot is more complex than some of the others and I have now read this book 3 times. If you enjoy this series, do not hesitate to purchase this next installment, it is definitely worth the price. My hat is off to Christine Feehan since after so many novels she could make this one so very complex and thoroughly riveting.

This is another great book by Christine Feehan. a must read for paranormal lovers and romance lovers alike. This book along with her other work makes you feel your actually a character taking part in the story and not just a reading it. This book draws you in and keeps you there.

This book was so far gone to me from Feehan's early classics...I would have never continued to read her if this had been one of her firsts.! Zac was way too abusive and belittling for my tastes. He tries to teach Marguarita obedience through pain?! Since when have/do ANY Carpathian males do this? He won't even allow her to use her pad and pen to communicate with others when she wants to. He brutally pushes her away from him at least a couple of times, and he even hurts her when they're intimate (which she supposedly loves...but, would it have mattered if she didn't? I didn't think so.). Plus, we're supposed to believe that he's one of the oldest and most powerful Carpathians, yet he doesn't know that a conversion can cause immense pain? There was no crushing of soothing herbs, no healing chants, etc. He doesn't even try to contact his brothers out of distress for his lifemate - not once? Plus, we never see the brothers again after the beginning, and we get NO word on how any of the babies are doing. I felt so robbed over that! What a waste of what could have been a wonderful epilogue! PLUS, Zac is out for the count for some 2 months, when Marg should have been out-of-her-mind with grief due to the lack of connection, yet she doesn't even feel when he takes his first real breath again? He just kind of sneaks up on her and...after all that time...wants her to take her bath?! Ridiculous. That was terribly anticlimactic. For the times when Zac IS actually coming to terms with Marg being his lifemate, we get to read his incessant, repeating thoughts about her being his life, his world, his everything, his light...over and over again...pages and pages of his repeating thoughts. This was the first Feehan book I ever skipped through! Finally, and this is my biggest critique...the last 10% of the story on Kindle is ALL appendices of the Carpathian language, songs, word pronunciations, etc. If a majority of these things were actually USED in the story, I might be more interested. However, aside from the occasional endearment, warrior greetings, and lifemate bonding words, NONE of the other words, chants, songs, etc. were used in this story! My time and my money are too valuable to waste on an author who so obviously does NOT value her fans anymore (well, other than for their money).

Okay this is the first time I have felt the need to leave a book review. I just want to save everyone some money. Please wait for this book to come out in paperback. I have read all of the Dark series and have been a huge fan for many years. I was not that crazy about the last book Dark Peril but once you get sucked into a series you want to reach an ending. This book was boring and a waste of money. I think it is time to find a new topic. You have a heroine, Marguarita, who surprisingly has had her life saved once already by the hero Zacarias. Unfortunately Zacarias, despite the fact that his four younger brothers all have lifemates, can not figure out that Marguarita is his lifemate. So once again you get the heroine running away and the hero laying chase convinced that Marguarita is trying to control him. I am sorry I did not buy it did not make sense to me. So everything after this point could have been cut and paste from past books just changing locations and the characters names. This is not a book you buy and can not put down. You will put it down and not feel the desire to pick it back up again. I had to force myself to read it and honestly I am moving this series off of my need to have list. I will be waiting for the next book to become a paper back and then I will buy it at a half price store.

Although Street Game was not as engrossing as some of the previous Ghost Walker books, I still had a hard time putting the book down. I liked the new team, the hero/heroine, the action, and the loving. The "you left me" was a little over done but I look forward to reading this team members' stories as much as any of the other teams memebers' that have to be written yet.

In line with the rest of this series, a great read. I enjoyed this Carpathian series very much, really could escape into this fantasy world of demons and heroes. I find the subject very entertaining and Ms. Feehan's books add that adult edge so even on my most boring days, reading these books, can make it a bit more interesting.

This is the first time I've ever written a review so I'm sure I appear as a novice. Unlike some of the other reviews, I found this to be a really good read. My heart broke for Zacarias and his past explained much of his personality. I would have given it 5 stars except for two reasons - 1.) I DID NOT like the somewhat brutal/cruel treatment of Marguerita at times although she wound up being the true "boss" after all is said and done. 2.) The ending was just a little flat for me. I thought there's be some additional epilogue. Ms. Feehan is still one of my favorites and I can't wait for the next dark book.

I won't go into the story line, as plenty of people have done that.
I've read all of Christine Feehan's books, with the exception of some of her "sisters" series. I enjoyed the ghostwalker series, but this new team is just not hitting the mark. Kane and Rose do not seem to have the chemistry of some of her earlier books, and some of the phrases used to describe the women in general are starting to drive me crazy... such as tiny, small, petite, she says it so many times that I want to yell "I get it! she's small!". The whole thing about trying to make [...] milk erotic was distracting as well, it just seemed weird and took me out of the story when it happened. I have a hard time completing the book because it kind of dragged along and after about halfway through they really have decided to be together and there isn't a lot of tension between the two. I really didn't like Mack in the first book, and after this one I'm starting to realize that with this series Feehan may not be an automatic buy for me anymore. Rose is a good character, strong when she needs to be, but Kane tends to beat his chest to much and it becomes annoying after a while. I don't think that as much time is spent developing her characters as she used to, and that's probably why I don't like her books as much as before.

Shadow Game (GhostWalkers, Book 1)A fast paced story of science fiction mystery with what you would expect from a romance novel. The "romance" aspect is very detailed.

This is the ninth book in the GhostWalker series and focuses again (as with the eighth book) on members of GhostWalker Team Three. In this book, the team is deployed to Mexico to rescue two hostages (relatives of el presidente) from a drug cartel. In the process, the team discovers Rose, one of the women who escaped from Dr. Whitney's breeding program with the help of the GhostWalkers. Kane, one of the team members, has been searching for Rose for months, ever since Dr. Whitney paired them as part of the breeding program. He helped her to escape but then lost touch with her. Rose is eight months pregnant with Kane's child and desperately afraid to trust anyone with the safety of her unborn child....anyone except Kane. Overall, this book is solid. It continues the development of the overall plot arch of the series, with more information on Dr. Whitney and his nefarious experiments. That said, Kane and Rose are both somewhat more flat than characters from previous books, without much character development of either of them beyond their basic characters. They are both strong, likeable members of the team. However, because they were paired (and mated) before the book even starts, the book lacks the "courtship" phase of the relationship. Also, the expressions of both Kane and Rose's feelings for each other is both overly repetitive and overly melodramatic. Finally, Kane's almost slavish devotion to Rose in the wake of the birth of their son and his attraction to her post-birth body borders on a little creepy at times. In my opinion, this is the weakest of the series although I continue to like the overall plot and the cast of characters and will look forward to reading further books in the series.

A very well written story. Keeps up the suspense throughout, something that I have come to expect from C. Feehan. I did like the large print aspect of this book. Easy reading, enjoyable escape, which is what I require in a book.

I actually read Dark Storm before I realized I had missed a book with Zacarias! I had to have it, thank goodness my Mom shares my love of reading, she bought it for me on the store. This one really hit my heart. I thought i would never find my other half, but I finally did in my early 40s. Christine always seems to hit our hearts with her characters.

Very well written and picks right up after the ending to Dark Celebration. First book in a while that I've had to read twice back to back. Not all is as it would seem and the war between Carpathian and undead takes a new turn. Cant wait for book 16 later this year.

I found this book to be as good as all Christine's books. I'm getting a little tired of all the sexual scenes...we really have our own imagination and can do without such graphics, some are ok but each chapter is more than I want.

A new twist in the ever growing Carpathian family. This book is a fine addition to the series and the best since Gabriel and Lucian's stories. The series had become a bit tedious and predictable, but this book infuses it with new blood in more ways than one. Although the beginning is a bit tedious to read and the plot is lost a few times along the way, Feehan brings it home in a way that leaves the reader waiting for the next installment.

We loved this book.I think Zacarias has been one of the rudest, most demanding carpathians thus far.Marguarita is a beautiful loving lifemate and shows how hard it is to be with a carpathian.and make him happy. We kept hoping she would get her voice back after Zacarias turned her.(of course she didn't)I really hated to get to the end of this book.Ms. Feehan is the BEST writer of this type novel. We have the complete set of her Carpathian novels! Please keep them comming!!!

I have been slowly making my way through the series, and this one is very hot and enticing, I would have to say that the lack of presence of Zacarias's brothers is a shame, but over all it is a great book, cant wait to dig into the next one.

I agree with previous reviews which state that this book is a step backward for Feehan. The last few Carpathian novels were absolutely brilliant with touching and powerful love stories between truly matched lifemates. This novel read more like Dark Magic or Dark Desire. It was very one-dimensional as it focused exclusively on the main couple without advancing the larger story line at all. The central plot was weak (Zacarias can only feel and see in color when actually connected to Marguarita which causes unnecessary confusion and greatly delays the progression of their relationship), and the heroine's inability to speak frustratingly limits the dialogue with side characters and ends up being just as frustrating for the reader as it is for the character. Dark Predator is also in sore need of a proof-reader -- something I would not have expected from Feehan. There are numerous double words and missing words that interrupt the easy flow of the book and which are really unacceptable in a hard-cover priced Kindle book. It is clear that the author really put very little thought into this novel and most likely was focused on other projects while slapping this together at the last hour. Overall it was a severe disappointment from an author I have followed for years and who's Carpathian books I look forward to each year.

Once one accepts the basic formula and Feehan prose style for almost all the "Dark" novels, the issue becomes how well the material is read. Juanita Parker, who does both "Magic" and "Gold" is horrendous. I'm unfamiliar with the word "accross't", and she consistently adds a "t", as well as contributing so many erroneous pronunciations that one's attention is drawn to her multitudinous mistakes, and waiting for the next one to happen. Which it invariably does. I have a very large collection of cd books, and the 2 read by Ms. Parker are going straight to the Salvation Army. I have 3 other Feehans, with a different narrater on the shelf which I'm going to try once I've gotten the dreadfulness of the Parker experience solidly in the rear view mirror. As these were the first 2 "Dark" novels I read, the Parker experience was particularly distracting and disappointing.

Was looking forward to this one, and totally disappointed, took me all day to get through. The South American/Latin/Hispanic culture of the male superiority/machismo BS has always irked me, but this book drove it home in spades. I've pushed through the others with the other 4 brothers, and was actually looking forward to Zacarias's story, but the heroine was a disappointment, and Zac was just an ass extraordinaire. The highlights for me were the descriptions of the Peruvian Paso's, and her ability to communicate with animals and horses, but I didn't feel anything for the two of them except intense irritation. The book could have been shortened by a good 150 pages, too! Mental rape bordering on physical rape in not okay!

I love this series, but I was disappointed with Dark Possession. She devoted very little to the back ground of the characters, gave up more than 200 pages in the beginning to Manolito in the shadow world; which just droned on and on.

I have read just about every feehan novel she's put out.
So I am a fan. The book wasn't bad it just wasn't good.
I usually devour her books in a day. Not this time, this book
is interesting, but boring. I felt like I was taking a computers 101 class.
We all know she writes great sex scenes and yes I mean sex not love,
because I was not feeling the love with the h/h. Put that aside and this
book is all about chatter. Way too much talking and not enough action.
I threw my kindle on the bed a few times in frustration.
Sorry I have to give this one 2 stars. It bored me to tears.
By the way what ever happened to Joe? I cared more for his story,
then I did Mack's. He was hot, would have made the story better if there
was a love triangle. Having said all that I won't be giving up on one of my favorite authors.

I read some of the reviews and marveled at how we all are looking for something different when we read.
Feehan for me is an ok read. Her books have become very formulaic. Greatest, most powerful Carpathian 'insert name' has lost ability to see color and feel emotion; meets 'insert name' his lifemate. Said amazingly powerful Carpathian gets the bejeezes beat out of him by 'insert name' Vampire. Said Carpathian turns his lifemate, usually without asking or explaining. He is horrified at how awful the transition is and she, despite said surprising awfulness forgives him. Rinse and repeat. Nice to read when nothing else is available. Which is why I picked up this book. And surprise- while most of the above is still there- there is a twist. He tries to kill himself, he doesn't know how to deal with a lifemate (come on guys- he has isolated himself his whole life), is not miraculously cured by her (cool change- as he found her too late)...and generally fumbles his way through things as he learns how to be around people. It was refreshing to read something a bit different from her usual for a change so I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I aplaud her for stretching out a bit and trying something new. It had gotten to the point that only the names and appearance and location seemed to change! My complaint was more with his lifemate- she sure caves quickly. Why do the woman always have to cave so quickly to the 'alpha' in so many books. I like these styles more in my teens and now that I am older and married it is hard for me to relate - in fact I am turned off. The more someone would be bossing me around the more I would be giving them a get real look and telling them to back off :) Being told what to do and overriden "for my own good- gahhh" is just not something I can connect with. Anyway, this book was a refreshing change for me.

I am stumped at how to begin.........I can't even list all the ways this book is bad. Maybe I'll just highlight the top 3 reasons not to buy this book:

1. I never had a reason to care about the characters
2. I never had reason to believe the plot (what plot?)
3. There was no connections to the previous characters in the series

Although this one droned on and there was not really any chemistry between Zacarius and Marguerite, at least it was not in a cave with parasites again as the last books were. I gave it 3 stars because the last "Dark" book was so bad I could only give it 1.
Where are the beloved characters of the first few books?
In my last review, I said it was time for Ms. Feehan to retire this series since it was not going anywhere...I still stand by that

I was thrilled to see that the author had written a new book (as I would have bought anything by her) only to learn AFTER I purchased the book that it's actually a RE-print of a previously published story. To make matters worse, this re-print is not even the entire story but merely some left out chapters and back story. The last time I was disappointed in the author was when her publisher released $25 hardbook copies only forcing loyal readers to wait 4+ months for a paperback. At this point, I doubt I'll read anything else from her despite her story telling. A reader's loyalty shouldn't be abused.

I am a huge fan of these books...my niece got me into these years ago...the only thing that is annoying when it comes to these books are the heroines...after a while their ungrateful attitudes is a major turn off...it goes on and on and constantly puts them in danger...or it makes it seem they don't appreciate that their lives are saved...etc etc...but other than that...I would recommend anyone to read them.

I enjoyed this book and I wasn't expecting to after the last book in this series. I was very pleased that she developed the relationship between Kane and Rose and kept the sex as a secondary component to the plot. I also really liked how she brought in the other characters in the unit and mentioned the other units. I like how rounded the story line was and I couldn't put it down, I was up till 3am reading it after trying to put it down and get some sleep, that obviously didn't happen. As usual I am super excited to read anything by this author. The story line was not as well thought out as usual. It took a good 100 pages to really get going. I never lose interest in her storylines and it was close on the novel. Once it did get going, it held my attention. Just not her usual flare for excitement from page one.

Dark Predator was another hit in the Carpathian story. The only drawback was the lack of interaction from the other Carpathians. They are a close knit family and it made since that the family should have met his mate.As the head of a very powerful family he should have made it known to them he had found his lifemate and would carry on with his dutys. This was another one of those books I did not want to put down.

Definitely not for me. I just do not like to read about heroines who are very insecured about their looks, especially when you get the feeling she might be right about feeling that way, even when the hero likes all her minor imperfections, I just want her to be beautiful period. In the story there are truly beautiful women, (for example, the villianess is physically perfect) but the heroine's good looks come with qualifiers, all of them negative, such as the subtle suggestion that she might be a little over-weight, etc., etc.. The hero is of course completely gorgeous. Also , possible SPOILER TO FOLLOW: her back is eventually severely scarred. I know the points I am making are trivial, but I am not reading a literature masterpiece like "Vanity Fair", I am reading pulp fiction, and for one single reason: to escape the harsh reality of life and emerge myself in a fantasy, and all these facts, spoil the fantasy for me. My aim is no to think that what happened to the heroine can happen to me too, I am not that self delusional. I just want to read a story where the woman has the advantage of beauty and charm, trumping the man's. and any other woman around, I know very unlikely in real life, but for me that is the whole point.

I love the early Dark series , but this book I did not care for. I did not like the main character Manolito. MaryAnn was not in the least interesting. The storyline was not exciting enough. Ok Christine we need something new and different. I am not so sure that I am going to read another of the dark series

This book was better than I thought it would be. I wasn't too crazy about the other DeLaCruz brother's story. So I was kind of leery about this one, but I've been waiting for Zacarias story for a while, hoping he'd find his mate soon. And this book was better than expected, I liked it. Hopefully Feehan continues to hold our attention with the carpathian series because her first 4 books in the series is what got me hooked.

Compared to her other writings very predicable. The one "difference" is not expounded and broadened. I know, by heart, the laws and history. Every book dwells onit rather than focusing on the current "mates for Life"
I see Gary Jensen is a new book coming out in 2016. I will not buy it buy if library may read it

Throughout the Dark series there have been a lot of hits and a few misses, yet the misses haven't been bad enough to turn me off the series. I was hesitant to read Dark Predator after seeing all the negative reviews, but I couldn't help myself; I had to read it, regardless. And I'm so glad I did! I didn't mind Zacarias's introspection...he had a lot to contemplate, and I thought the author handled this nicely. The heroine lost her vocal chords a year earlier in a vampire attack, andI liked the way Zacarias took away her pencil and paper and insisted she communicate with him telepathically. Both Zacarias and Marguarita stayed in character throughout the book, and I really liked that. The author brilliantly handled the reasons Zacarias didn't immediately recognize his life mate; the reasons for his determination to remain distant; and the reasons for his retaining his darkness after finding his life mate. And while there wasn't a reunion with all Zacarias's brothers, the end didn't seem rushed, and I wasn't left feeling like something was missing.

I took away one star for the author's continued seeming determination to have her readers learn the Carpathian language. (Although I do want to applaud her for apparently listening to her readers and refraining from her tendency in the last few books to include page after page ad nauseum of Carpathian chants!!! I don't mind a small glossary explaining the terms used in the book, although she explained those in the context, so there was little need even for that much. However, I do mind 10% (going by my Kindle's percentage read) of the book being dedicated to a glossary that could be added to her website for those readers who enjoy it.

I love Christine Feehan. I have read every Dark book (some of them 3 or 4 times) from the Dark Prince right up to this latest, Dark Possession. It started to go wrong when the brothers from South America were brought in to the series. They may be Carpathians, but they are certainly not like those up to and including Dayan.

How could such a great series get so far off track?

this is the latest in the ghostwalker series and although i really enjoyed books 2 - 5 this book was disappointing.
the lead female character has a victim personality, always giving in. the male characters are cold and aggressive, but switch to having goofy fun personalities for a few minutes once in a while. the author has also resorted to informing us through other characters in the book how intelligent and thoughtful etc a character is. this was done repeatedly and is a cheap way of writing. i make up my own mind about character and personality based on plot and character development.
ms feehan obviously intends to extend her ghostwalker series through new teams, but some interesting original character's stories have not yet been told and neither have significant characters from team 2. this series may begin to feel a little over stretched if this trend continues.
although i don't enjoy the sisters or leopard series, i have read all of the dark series, which has continued to have excellent characters and plot (with the very odd exception). i hope this is a blot on an otherwise enjoyable series.

I read the reviews for this book before purchasing it. I was on the fence about purchasing the book considering some of the reviews were horrendous. I also was not too happy about the price of the book. But I've loved most of the books and liked the rest, so I bit the bullet. My verdict is as above: the BEST Carpathian novel in the series!
For all who complained about Zacarias: what did you think a Carpathian Hunter as old as him and filled with as much darkness as him, would be like? For Pete's sake, he has hunted for a thousand years, watched his father get his mother killed, killed his own father to protect his brothers, buried every horrible memory too stay sane, been without color or emotions forever, fought a horrendous battle against an vampire army led by his best friend and, after defeating the army of the enemy, taking leave of his family to go and surrender to the dawn rather that go vampire himself and cause his brothers to have to hunt him down and destroy him! Sheesh!
As he is preparing to meet the dawn at one of his properties, a loyal servant decideds to save him, in spite of him telling her that he will kill her for it. He WAMTS to die to keep his honor intact! Of course they will have relationship issues!! Hell, they have subscriptions!! Get over it!
I think that if Zacarias had behaved any differently than the way he did, it would have been completely unbelieveable. Hello, remember they're Carpathian males who give new meaning to the term control freak and the issues they had? Zacarias' character stayed true throughout, or at least until he realized how much he had hurt his lifemate and that he had not truly understood what the Binding Vows meant! Then he fixed it!
Great story, great couple, great problems and fantastic ending! Love, love, love it! My highest recommendation!

I have to say that I really, REALLY enjoyed this book. Why? I love the interaction between the hero and heroine, but I think that I enjoyed it more because I listed to it on audible.

I listened to all of Christine's books, and others writers on audible and I must say this was the best. It had two readers, which made it better from the beginning to end. They had different special effect which took the book over the top.

I loved it.

I liked her other books also, even the ones who did not enjoy them. Maybe if you do audible, it would make it better. Just a suggestion.

Hope I don't have to wait too long for the next one.

There just seems to be something missing from Ms. Feehan's last few offerings. She may well be spreading herself too thin with all the different series. In this latest book, there seemed to be little plot and a lot of sex to make up for it.

Sorry, girls, but I thought the mumbo-jumbo of Manilito's situation was too dragged out, boring and confusing. I love Ms. Feehan's books and waited for this to come out, but what a disappointment!!! The intensity just wasn't there. Too bad.

Not the best, but it's still a pretty decent story. I hope the next Carpat. novel will be stronger, though. I loved Safe Harbor -that was great. Anyway, I like Feehan style of writing. In comparison to other writers, Feehan writes soo much better...

As always, Feehan is fantastic! I feel like a "Feehanoholic" waiting for her next book to come out. Then I gobble it up like a kid with a candy bar. The only bad part is finishing, and then having to wait for the next "Fix" :) Becarefull... Feehan is addictive!

I was bored by chapter 3-4 but tormented myself by reading the whole thing hoping it would get better. It doesn't! There is little written that makes either of the main characters memorable and I found myself puzzled as to why Marguerita even developed an emotional attachment to Zacharias. I have been progressively more disappointed by Christine Feehan's writing from her last few books and this one cements the deal. This will be the last book that I buy from this author. I'll content myself with re-reading her older works, which were far superior in terms of plot and substance.

Hey there is a new concept Sexual assault and Romance!!! Usually when I go for a romance book I never think to think violent Rape first. Now there's a new one! Where do you go from there??? What the H#LL could this author have been thinking????
5 stars for depravity. Also for the author to have Gregori consistently call Savannah- enfante, mon pete, bebe... is even more SICK! Now let me just say that deep down in some dark place after a hard day of work when I've had to fire someone due to budget cuts and not job performance I would like to be "cradled" and be cared for by my mate/husband. But NOT after I grew up intimidated my whole life by him and having him brutally take my "innocence" last night with the bruises and cuts for proof of the lack of affection or control on his side and consent on mine! It then defies logic for her to allow Gregori to seduce her the next while still in pain and battered. No worries Gregori licks her wounds... He controls her mind, body..
I understand the thought the author had in writing this book. Gregori was so far gone that he lost control and it was Savannah's capacity for love, giving, forgiveness, and compassion (like her mom) that brings him back to the light. That is what is hidden between the lines. Unfortunately, those of you that will read this and prepare to defend the book are precisely who can read it and find the meaning. It's those who romantize the actions of Gregori's and believe that in anyway Savannah is thoughtless or holds blame that shouldn't read this book.
This book really could have went some place wonderful but it didn't. The author reduces women to weaklings and men to macho, battering and in this case a dark rapist. Yes he was sorry but that doesn't change the crime. If it did we wouldn't have jail. There are some lines we just don't cross and this is one. I'm out of this series and I hope you read and judge for yourself.

I really did like this book, but I did have one thang I did not like. It was how Mack treated Jamie. I think he was a little to macho for my taste. I like macho men, but I think Mack was just to macho. I would still recommend this book to a friend.

So practically every person who has written a review for Mrs. Feehan's book and gave it three or less stars has began their review the way i am about to, but I have to, so here goes: Christine Feehan is one of my favorite authors, but I have to say this book was just like the others. Not so much the formula and plot (even though it kinda was), but her characters. It always seems like when she doesn't have a book dedicated to them, and there are just glimpses of a character in someone else's story, their personality shines through perfectly, but once they get their own book, they fall into this mold that she cant seem to get them out of. And I am not only speaking about this series, its for ALL of her books. In the beginning of this series, there was a lot of variation, especially when it came to Gator, he was the biggest mold breaker for her, but since him, she has been repeating this same dream man that she thinks her readers want to see when in actuality, we would like some variation. What did I like about this book? Well for one, the sex. Always a winner for this series. Two, I liked the fact that Kane was grossed out by the pregnancy. That was pretty funny, and I'm glad she didn't try and make him out to be this man that loves anything that she does and any excrement that escapes her body, cause let's be honest, men are freaked out by pregnancy and Kane certainly was. I also like that he made comments about her being out of shape, i know it's mean, but men aren't perfect! They can be insensitive and it gave Kane kind of a human touch with those little idiosyncrasies.

That being said, I think I am getting to a point where I only buy Ms. Feehan's books because I am hopeful that she will go back to her former way of writing. Her previous two books in this series were sub par. Ms. Feehan, PLEASE!! WHOEVER OR WHATEVER YOUR MUSE WAS WHEN YOU WROTE SHADOW GAME AND NIGHT GAME AND MIND GAME AND CONSPIRACY GAME YOU NEED TO GET IT BACK...

I am very disappointed in this book after the long wait. I thought I was getting a new book, but instead got an expanded version of two previous books. Very dissatisfying. Hopefully she will expand her list of characters in the Dark Series. I don't care for the leopard people series.

what was the point of buying a kindle if i can just go to the store and get the book for the exact same price? i mean come on its wirelessly delivered and you dont even have to waste paper on printing the book. i would just think the publisher would be a little more fair on the price.
