Finally and end to this icy saga. Well plotted, though a bit outlandish, adventure full of twists with old and new characters we've come to know. What will be Preston's future books bring. I for one can't wait.

A very pedestrian sequel to the original. The novel feels like it was written by committee according to a formula outlined in order to achieve a certain sales target. The authors have done much better work in the past.

I love the imagination and research the authors put into all of their writing and especially this novel. What a fantastic adventure filled roller coaster of a ride! Cannot get enough of this new protagonist, Gideon Crew.
The Kraken Project: Wyman Ford, Book 4 :: The Ice Limit :: Reliquary (Pendergast, Book 2) :: Blasphemy: A Novel (Wyman Ford Series Book 2) :: The Cabinet of Curiosities (Agent Pendergast series)

The sequel to The Ice Limit is certainly worth reading. I started it and could not put it down. Once again, the authors take us on an exciting journey by letting us know what the "meteorite" really is.

First half of the book was riveting. Then the plot devolved to a far-fetched, silly ,almost juvenile direction. Far too simplistic and not the caliber of suspense and surprise usually generated by these fabulous authors.

This is another page turner, white knuckle producing Gideon Crew book. If only there were a way for him to be cured of his brain disease then all would be right with the world. However, it is good to know that his adventures can continue.

The prose connects with the reader strongly on every page.
Characters are dynamic and believable, even when strange.
Am thoroughly enjoying the first 11 chapters, which rival the best of Preston and Child adventures.

I enjoyed this book very much. I prefer the Pendergast series, but I NEVER miss and Preston and Child book. Such a creative pair. This book did not disappoint. If you read, The Ice Limit years ago, you will love it. If you didn't, give it a chance anyway. It is a fun science fiction thriller.

The Ice Limit was a fine thriller, but this sequel, while not needed, was an enjoyable follow-up. Preston and Child are fantastic storytellers. Now that we've gotten our sequel, maybe they'll oblige us with a Pendergast-Crew crossover! Wouldn't that be fun!

Great sequel. I still have questions. Or perhaps I simply want more. This is a stand alone novel, but if you get the chance, read the Ice Limit first. Great story the builds up for this one.
Gotta love Preston and Child. Keep writing gentlemen.

I looked forward to reading another book by Preston and Child. Their writing style always grabs my attention, and makes me feel as though I am in the thick of the scenes right along with the characters. Unfortunately, I did not find the "Beyond the Ice Limit" storyline to be original. In fact, I think the alien-life-form-threatening-mankind-and-must-be-destroyed idea has been way overdone. To be frank, I was disappointed. I am giving this latest book by Child and Preston three stars because they are very good writers, and if somebody out there in the reading world has not encountered a book or movie with this storyline, then this will be a very exciting read for them.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
