I don't review every book I've read and I'm not big on the fancy words. I am an avid reader and spend more time reading then reviewing. But when in my opinion, I have read a good book or a bad one; I put my 2 cents in.

I guess I am one of the few a little disappointed in this book, but there always has to be one, it seems. Being a devoted reader of Feehan's books (And I have them all); I even bought this in hardback instead of waiting for the paperback.

Although the book wasn't bad, it seems to be just a prelude to upcoming events for her next books. But you can't read the next without this one, but I would suggest you wait for the paperback. I still gave it 4 stars just because she wrote it.

Hi All - I have to say, this was NOT one of my favorite "Dark Series" books. And I certainly could have done without the "desserts" section in the back, why not write more of the storyline instead of doing a recipe section. Also the booked lacked a bit of the normal intensity which typically happens between the main Carpathian and his LifeMate. Now, having mentioned those things, I will say that if you are into this series you need to purchase this book to add to your collection. There are several more "clues" added to the storyline regarding the vampires, mage, etc. Also we find more information regarding how important Mikhail is to the whole Carpathian race. It was nice to visit with the Carpathian couples as well and see how they interact with each other. I eagerly await the next book in the series.

If you have read several of the Dark (Carpathian hunters) series, then this book is a must read for you! It brings us all up to date on the current lives of the Carpathian hunters and their mates. I am sure this must have been a challenging book for Feehan to write as it contains soooo many characters! She did a superb job! I am curious to know more about Skyler and Dimitri - I am trying to find that book currently (not sure if it's been written yet). This is another great book in Feehan's Carpathian series!

I can't believe in like, 3 pages of reviews, I'm the only one who gets frustrated with this series.

Uck. Here's the deal. This author, while her stories have potential, is a one-trick pony. These read like Lifetime Original movies. Which, is such a shame because she has really nice moments. Shea and Jacque's meeting and "courtship" was pretty f-ing awesome. But, she REPEATS herself constantly.
Example. In Celebration, and I kid you not, an exchange just like this happens:

Male: You worked so hard on this. The kids really look like they had a great time.
Female: I know. The kids had such a good time, and they really worked hard on this.

And I swear, if I read someone saying "I am so going to..." one more time...She really dates herself when she includes idiom and coloquiolism.

And all the women are either battered, orphaned, or battered and orphaned and taking care of younger siblings or other battered orphans.

The men always refer to them as "little one" and whenever anyone refers to anyone having an emotional moment, it's either "baby" or "honey". I'm sorry. I cannot reconcile these men (who are from Hungary where English is supposedly their second language) referring to their wives as "baby" in the same breath as "little one". It totally takes me out of the story.

Simply put, Feehan gets in her own way a lot. If she would just let the conversations happen, then, perhaps things would flow more. But I find myself skipping more dialogue because it's all rehashing old storylines and unnecessary exposition.

I'll keep reading though. Because the stories are good enough that with some skimming, they keep me interested.

I am a long time reader of christine feehans dark series, in fact I absolutely love the series with the only exception being dark secret. I felt dark celebration was great because it gave long time readers of the series a chance to see some of there favorite character again and to find out what they are up to. It was also a great way for feehan to progress the entire series. Dark celebration was very erotic, very funny, and it was a hard book to put down, in fact I read it in less than two days. Christine feehan is the best when it comes to parnormal romance and she seems to be getting better with dark celebration and dark demon. s.m.j

I never write reviews on anything, but as my title says Christine Feehan never disappoints. If you haven't read her previous Carpathian series yet then you'll be able to follow but you'll be missing out on the buildup from the previous books to help clue you in on some of the parts. I highly recommend that you purchase her other books. They're all good! She is my favorite author besides Nora Roberts. If you want to read something other than historical romance then this is for you. It is fast paced, never boring and the plot thickens throughout the book. It's very interesting to see how she's created a race of characters out of thin air. You can tell she's very dedicated to her research and that she takes her time on coming up with the story so as not to disappoint her readers. As far as giving a hint about the book all the Carpathians and their lifemates from the previous books come together to celebrate Christmas in the Carpathian mountains and of course there are dark, destructive forces trying to exterminate their race but they have to figure out who: human or vampire. As for the rest well you'll just have to buy the book.

Really enjoyed this book as I have all of the books in this series. The characters come to life off the printed page. They make you smile, they make you mad, you feel their pain and joy, their fears and triumphs, but mostly you feel their love of life. I suggest you read all the books and get to know their stories.

This was my favorite book by Christine Feehan. It was absolutely wonderful to have all past characters together in one setting. I could not put this book down. I am not a cryer when I read books but at the end I actually had goose bumps and a few tears of joy. Can't say enough good about this book. I did not want it to end. There are even a few hints as to what the future holds for the Carpathians. Anxious to see what new books come from this one. Excellent book to read at Christmas.

Very good. Especially now at Christmas time - it could have been called 'A Carpathian Christmas'! I really enjoyed the gathering of so many of the characters from previous books. A nice bonus of 'Dark' and delicious recipes are included at the end of the book.

I liked it alot. I liked how she went around to several of the couples and had them experiencing their own little bits of stories. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was because after all the individual stories I felt the ending was rushed and not given as much detail as the individual stories. It was almost like reading a collection of shorts on the different couples, which I loved, but again when it came to the ending it all of a sudden felt like she limited herself to only so many pages and could have fleshed it out just a bit more. There was so much build up to Gregori being Santa and then that part seemed rushed and deflated a bit. Otherwise I am a big fan of her Carpathians and anxiously await Demetri & Skylars story in particular.

I have been buying Ms. Feehans books since she started writing. She wrote the first novel I ever read, Dark Prince. Now 20 something book into the dark series later she still is able to deliver scintillating tales of a world that regular people never get to see. This book is almost a compilation in that all the characters are all together for a Carpathian Christmas. You get to see what everyone is doing and how things have progressed since you read about them. It also serves to introduce a few very important couplings that will later become their own amazing stories. Also I believe it's the start of an intricate plot arch that is leading to a climactic point of epic proportions in the books that follow. It is funny, witty, and maybe a little wicked ;)

P.S there is a huge joke played on the infamous Gregorie that had me in tears it was so funny!!

I enjoyed Dark Celebration, but unlike earlier volumes which I read straight though, I actually was able to put this down and read it later.

At times, I was bored reading about Prince Dubrinsky walking from one featured couple's house to the next. It really was like reading a travel log just so that we could visit with ALL the characters.

However, I am thrilled that new lifemates have been identified -- in particular, Skylar and Dimitri (hinted at in Dark Legend too). I hope this is the next book. The chemistry between them is intense. Pretty amazing since they are not featured all the time in Dark Celebration.

Obviously, if you read the series, you'll read this book. The best part, however, is getting excited about future volumes about individual couples.

I agree with other reviewers that this should have been paperback and recipes and language belong on the website.

As always, I cannot help but feel great trepidation for the heroes and heroines of Chrstine Feehan's Carpathian world. A people on the brink of extinction and their struggle to remember, after centuries of fighting, what it is they are striving to protect. Christine Feehan does a great job of reminding us of the strife these people are going through. I often thought, as I read each chapter, that this celebration Raven insisted upon was turning out dark indeed, as there seemed no end to the attacks. But unlike Feehan's last novel, I found her battles much more interesting and less a burden to read because something new came out of every struggle. And as the book proceeds, we slowly see glimmers of hope as Mikhail Dubrinsky walks from one house to another, gathering information on all those who were recently lost to him. His army is growing stronger, and they need to be united against this enemy that appears to be growing more dangerous and intimate.

I knew from the beginning that this book was meant to be a gathering of characters we all, as readers, have cherished throughout the Dark Series. So to a new reader, I recommend not reading this book on its own (as many of her previous Dark Series books CAN stand alone); I fear many of these chapters will seem mundane and emotionless. It is the connection I have made to these Carpathians in previous novels that kept me turning the page.

As reviewers have commented before, the ending was rather abrupt, and the extra tid-bits at the end did not spark my interest. The one time I looked to the appendix to find a translation to some Carpathian words, I could not find them (though, I did not look very hard). Aside from this, I can't help but feel a tinge of disappointment, as I will have to wait for nearly a whole year between her last book (Dark Demon) and the next one. And especially since Dark Demon did not pique my interest so keenly as the one before it (Dark Secret).

I do hope these characters will return in future novels (and more than just a paragraph or to in reference), and that this is not the last we will hear about these couples. Especially with all the new discoveries of how powerful some of these Carpathians really are.

For all Carpathian lovers this is a pure joy. I thoroughly enjoyed this book because the writer did not only bring back old characters she filled in alot of questions that as a reader that I eanted know. Like who is Skylers lifemate? What was Barack thinking the whole time he was growing up with Syndil? Are there anymore Dragonseekers or have we meet some in previous books? How is everyone doing? And it was a pure joy to really see the Dark characters interact woth family members with "true emotions". For those who are new to the serious you will still love being introduced to these characters and you will not feel lost because Feehan always explains what happens in past books.

I thought the book was great... It had a bit more humor than usual that had me laughing in several places... The introduction of some new characters is intriguing...

I did feel the story stopped abruptley.. I wanted the story to continue and felt slighted when the last part of the book was recipes and more terminology. The romance was great and the glimmer of hope left me excited about the next book...

I hope Feehan continues to add new elements to the upcoming books. Can't wait !!!

It's a fair story. (My favorites of the series are Dark Demon and Dark Desire).

Since it's a reunion book it was nice to find out what is going on in the lives of the past characters and it had a nearly engaging story.

However I have determined what has been bugging me about the DARK series AND this is why I can only give it at most 3 stars. The Heroes are the same and the Heroines are the same - in everything except for appearance (except possible Natalya and Shea - although she is pretty much blended into the other female characters). It seems like these characters can be used interchangeably.

Even the situations were redundant throughout this novel.

The highlight of the story was Santa.

This book is so good. It was full of humor and excitement kept you reading never wanting to put it down. It had some of the original story line, but then has twist and turns. This is a book that I would highly recommended for anyone to read.

I enjoyed this novel. For the first time you see the characters letting their hair down and having fun doing human things and not so human things. It was also the great read Feehan fans have come to love. I like that she managed to share a bit of all the characters without rushing the story line. It flows and i am sure you will enjoy it as well.

Write on, read on

The book was wonderful, I have read and own all Feehan's Dark Series books and this, IMO, is the best of all the Dark Books she has ever written. I loved the lighter feel to the book, as well as the undertones of dark as we have come to expect from a Feehan Dark novel. I love the fact that she chose Jaques and Shea to have their baby in this novel, as Shea has been so instrumental in helping the continuation of the Carpathian race. Kudos to Feehan for another wonderful addition to the romance shelf.

Although I love C.Feehan's work, this book, left me with a sour after taste. from the beginning of the book, I just couldn't get into it. The characters and plot didn't mesh well with the other books Feehan's published. It seems that when she writes about the brothers her books suck. Dark Secret was also one of her worse written books. I will continue to read Feehan, but I hope that she'll think about her readers reactions before publishing something for the sake of being published

I really enjoyed this book but it stopped a little too soon. The prince going to personally visit all visitors to welcome them was a great way to tie all these families that live in isolation most of the time. Now a days with families living around the world it is hard for us to gather for a family holiday and the books reminded me of what it was like, when family all lived close and could support all. It also reminded me of getting ready for Xmas dinner when some of the family was not into cooking (maybe because of having full time careers). We also sometimes lose sight that holiday's are for the kids and they need kid time. I just wish the book told how the dinner actually went over with all these people trying to cook. It is nice to be reminded what holidays are really about because we seem to forget to leave our everyday problems for a day celebrating family.

Dark Reunion, was indeed a good read on on the continous series of the Carpathians. I can't believe its book 17 or is it 18? I find this series addictive, and wait forever for the next story. This series, for me, is like a soap opera. Each character has his own book and story line. This book centers around some of those characters coming together at Xmas. What I found rather dissmal, is Skylar's behavior, perhaps, its because she is only 15 or 16. But, surely she knows her future lies within the Carpathian's legacy. More new characters were re-introduced and old ones gathered together to celebrate. I was somewhat disappointed in what resulted in Mary Ann and her lifemate's short lived connection. I really, really, really, hope the author will present their story next. I simply can't do without another episode of this series. Please, let's not wait so long between books, it is agonizing.

It was geat to catch up with characters previously met. Gregori's flabbergsted expression when Savannah announces 'yes' they are excpecting a baby...but it's not a son but twins. Twin girls.
The celebration also reveals two new lifemates. Here's to more reunion stories.

I always love C.F's books and this one was great, I could have done without the receips in the back but Hey! it didn't hurt. I really loved how we visited each couple and how she left me wanting and wondering about the two new couples! You can bet when her new book comes out in Sept. I will be right there to scoop it up!

I had only read Dark Symphony before reading this book, so I found it difficult to keep track of all the characters. Byron and his lifemate Antonietta, featured in Dark Symphony, had a relatively minor role in this book. But reading Dark Celebration made me want to learn more about this fascinating Carpathian world that Christine Feehan created. I'm now "hooked" and plan to read many more from the Dark Series. Since reading Dark Celebration I devoured Dark Destiny and Dark Demon, and now everything in Dark Celebration is much clearer to me and I plan to re-read this book to enjoy it from this more clued-in perspective. I am also looking forward to future books to feature the two developing romances begun in Dark Celebration.

The Carpathians are vampire hunters, paranormal themselves as they are immortals. A war between the Carpathians and the evil vampires have been brewing for sometime.

Now, with so many of the Carpathian families together in one place, the vampires devise a way to wipe out the entire race!

If you were expecting a sweet and romantic reunion book, well, there's some of that. But, this is as action-filled as any of Mrs. Feehan's books, with twists and turns and heart-wrenching, heart-stopping scenes that keep you turning the page well past your bedtime!

If you like it hot, Feehan delivers there as well. Most of the popular couples from past books are here for the reunion and believe me, the passion's still there!

This was fun, emotional, exciting and best of all...satisfying!

Bueno, bueno, bueno.

Carpathianos 100%. Auténticos, encantadores y increíbles.

It really was wonderful to see the characters in a more upbeat setting, but it was still too dark for me. It would have been more fun had the author keep the sinister plots and enemies at bay. I guess she just couldn't help herself. I do agree with other reviewers who thought the book was overpriced. Don't buy this unless you're an avid fan or you might feel short changed! It was very short and mostly a kick off to two new Carpathian couples. One nice twist, one of the lifemates is Black. Ha! Frankly, I didn't think the author had it in her. Perhaps ethnic characters don't sell books. I don't know. We make up 1/8 of this society, and now 1/30 of the Carpathian world. We sho is movin up!

After the disappointment of Dark Demon, Dark Celebration was a wonderful, wonderful read. It kept my rapt attention all the way through. It was delightful that Ms. Feehan gave us little inside stories involving all of the wonderful characters we have come to love in her books, and an insight into many more books that she can write in the future involving many of the characters. The pregnancies of several of the couples and their happines brought tears to my eyes, and the soon to be brought together couples such as Skyler and Dimitri, MaryAnn and Manolito, gives us something wonderful to look forward to. Kudos on this writing, and it leaves me hope for many, many more wonderful books from Ms. Feehan.

1/5.. maybe even less -_- Not much for me to say about this book. Happy I purchased it at the Dollar Store. This book was insanely cheesy for me, completely unrealistic in a BAD way. For anyone who has read any of Christine Feehan's Dark Series books this book is sort of like a recap on all of the previous books she's written by re-introducing the characters during a Christmas celebration in the Carpathian Mountains. It also hints at future plots for her other books that haven't come out yet. I would really recommend that you read the other books before this one to understand the full effect of the story line but you should be able to make it through if you want to read just this one.

I adore Feehan's whole Dark series and was excited to get this new book as it came out. It was great to catch up on all the couples, and gives a way to segue into the South American family. Definitely should read series in order before you read this book, though, or you won't really understand it.

Dark Celebration was a great book. I really laughed at every character as they attempted to make dishes and the reactions to how The Dark One would be playing Santa. I was happy with the development of Skyler and how Natalya did have something more powerful of a role against the mage attacking them. I also enjoyed how all of them were there, and the interactions with each other and their lifemates.
I can't wait to read Manolito and MaryAnn's story as well as Skyler and Dimitri's.

I enjoyed the book very much although I found the ending too abrupt. I would rather have more news about the Carpathians than the recipe pages... I wanted, no, needed more news of my favourite characters i.e, Darius and Tempest. My only regret is I won't be able to get news about them until another celebration occurs.

I think the story line is good; great humour and provides news of all the couples we know. So why do I feel this emptiness, like a Carpathian who has lost his other-half... I guess this state will continue until the next book comes along... . I congratulate Feehan on her success, in that, people like me can't get enough of her Dark series. She got us hooked on to her Dark Characters and her providing merely 2 books a year does not shed enough light for our dark souls. A plea, if not a demand, that she writes more or let other good authors also pick-up this story-line, for a price, to keep us going until her two books per year comes along. Privately, I think her other storey-lines don't hold a candle to the Dark series and I have stopped reading them as I find them rather boring.

My favourite dark books are Dark Desire, Dark Fire and Dark Secret. I love Jacques, Darius (hope their sons will inherit the 'mantel of power' from Mikhail and Gregori) and Rafael and looking forward to other De La Cruz brothers' stories.

I know. It was the rest of the story. I actually thought this book should have been paperback and not hardcover. Especially, as a big part of the book was recipes. And, as I'm currently dieting, desserts just don't appeal to me.

I felt kind of cheated. Unless you're a die-hard Christine Feehan fan, the book is really not worth the $23.95 purchase price. Get it at the library, or just wait until the paperback comes out.

Try, Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward. A much better read for a fraction of the price of Christine's overpriced novel.

I loved this book. Ms. Feehan can write the best material that pulls you right into the story. It was great to see and hear from all the old characters again. The book is pretty much a quick reunion for all the characters and storylines developed in previous books. It also sets up a few new storylines that will hopefully play out in books to come. If you're looking for an in-depth story about a single couple, this isn't it. If you just want to catch up with all your favorite couples from previous books and get excited about new developments, this is a must-have.

I loved the early dark series books and hate the newer ones; so I have a love/hate feeling for this book. I skipped over parts, because I was unable to finish the later books and so half of these couples I don't know, and based on what I have read of their stories, don't care if I ever do. The whole wizard/mage/leopard line of the book seems contrived (I mean even Gary, whom I really dug is now a leopard and Skyler apparently is some kind of mage or something). Whereas the love scenes in earlier books were special; these just seem like repeats and could have been left out. Ms. Feehan has the right to write her books any way she wants, but the special thing about the earlier books was that the females were basically humans with psychic talents and their own strengths and foibles and did not have to rely on being a cat or magician (being human made them human). I think the recipes were stupid and should have been put into a separate book - how about "Dark Recipes" or something - a waste of pages. If I want a cookbook, I'll buy one.

I think I'm finished with the Dark Series. I'll keep rereading the first few and keep the dream alive that way.

I've been reading reviews of this book on how it's lacking. It's not. If you read Christine's book to get the same story line and plots everytime, then she's not for you. This book is a great blend of many charters. And yes, the book leaves you wanting the next in the series. Which proves that the stroy had you hooked. If you collect Christine's book then this is a must to fill in all those litte gaps of past Lifemate's, and leaves you with plenty of dreams of the book yet to come.

Dark Celebration succeeds at bringing together most of our favorite Carpathian characters and their cohorts, but I kept finding myself wishing for more. This felt like the epilogues of several books brought together to create the reunion. I really wish the scene between Mikhail and Gregory (I will not give this away too much for those who have not read the book) could have been a little longer and more detailed.

Definitely a keeper, but left me wanting more from all characters!

I would say it was not my favorite Christine Feehan novel. I love the dark hunters series more...

The carpathian series is very romantic in general and always have happy endings.

So, its a very good book, just not up to her normal par in my opinion.

This is my favorite Carpathian Book to date. I love how the story brings in all the characters from the first books. As with all of feehan's books this is a keeper. I wasn't sure how she was going to pull if off, bring back old characters and a holiday that you might not normally associate with said characters. it was great. funny, sad but also hopeful. i think that is what i like about her books the best, the underlining sense of hope.

I loved Dark Prince, Dark Desire, Dark Fire, and Dark Guardian. I have read them so much, that the bindings are worn out. I wanted to love Dark Symphony, Dark Melody etc. I have not found the recent offerings to be as compelling as the earlier books. When I saw that Ms. Feehan had gone the route of hardback, I reluctantly carried the book to the cashier with a dark doubt that this book would come through.

A reunion makes for a challenge in terms of cohesion and plot continuity. Feehan's plot consists of spending most of the book following Mikhail as he makes the rounds of party planning, checking in with Dark couples from past books being caught in various stages of feed and seed, which loses it's appeal without the emotional development. But the blatant cliff hanging, particularly when the timeliness of new release on this series is getting slower and slower is what makes this book a dark disappointment. There are romances left dangling, and several plot threads and character issues abruptly abandoned.

Recipes? Please, that is what your website is for. Language? Maybe for die hard fans who don't have a life - again - website fodder. How about finishing the book? Editor - what were you thinking? Ms. Feehan - If you are so stretched with your other series that this is the best you can do for your fans (and at hardback and overpriced paper back prices) then do us a favor and wrap it up. It would be better than blatantly taking advantage of those of us who have truly loved your Carpathians. I find myself wishing that somehow, someone else would pick up the stories and return this series to its former glory.

I liked this novel. Although I didn't think it necessarily should have been in hardcover. It was nice to see some old friends from previous novels. But I would have been happier had it advanced the story of the Carpathians a little more. Would like to see more of the South Americans. Which seems to be coming from the setup in the book. I would recommend reading it, but not particularly buying it. Borrow it from a friend or library.

I liked this book but it ended to soon. It was great to see the characters from all the other books but time with each was so brief. I am waiting for the books on the two new couples she introduced in this book. I am sure she will do a great book on each couple! I did find it a bit coincidental that all of a sudden all the "humans" are finding they are Jaguar or others to tie them into the group, i.e. Gary Jansen.

Keep writing...these are my favorites and I reread them a lot.

Totally great read & is definately on my list of favorites from Christine Feehan! I admit I was disappointed with Dark Demon, but Feehan has won me back with Dark Celebration! I loved revisting with all of the previous characters & getting to see how their lives were going and, for me, it also answered several questions that I still had from previous storylines & also gave those storylines some closure. I can't wait until her next book comes out! My only complaint is that it wasn't longer, but it's still a keeper!

I love reading Feehan's books and have them all, including this one, unfortunately. There is one particularly amusing and well-wrought scene; however, this so-called novel is one of those "to be continued" episodes that I wish I'd been warned about before buying. I was disappointed that this is mainly an introduction to the next two Dark Series couples instead of a complete novel about them. I especially look forward to reading Marianne and Manolito's story, so I'm not quitting Feehan over this. Still, I advise avid romance readers to save their money for the next two books in the series. Caveat emptor.

Loved it...loved seeing all the different characters interact despite my not having read all of the books. Unfortunately, I found out some had mates before I read the book but I still enjoyed it. Now I only have to find the missing books.

Love these books. Eagerly await the next. This one however, left me wanting....a real story. The players were all there but, it seemed hurried and not fleshed out.It seemed the story suffered in an effort to bind all the players into it. The ultimate cast of players not supported by a strong enough platform. None the less when's the next one due?

For anyone who is a fan of this series this is a must have. It was nice to have all the characters we've come to know in one place and interacting and at the same time made me anxious for the next one in the Dark series. Ms. Feehan does not disappoint with this one.

This was a huge disappointment to me.

I can sum it up in one word - filler.

This is nothing but many of her stories told over again with a small sub story and filler filler filler.

Unless you buy her books to make sure you have the entire collection, you can leave this one off of your list.

Anyone who is a fan of the Carpathians must read this book. To truly get the most out of it--read it last so that you can relate and remember all of the wonderful "dark series" books Christine Feehan has written.

I think this book was awesome. The story as allways was original. It was funny, sad, exciting, it had a little bit of everything. I am saving this book and putting it on my collection because I think this book is one of a kind.

I have read all of Mrs Feehans books in this series and with this book I felt a little let down. I really didnot care for the recipies @ the end. I felt she could have written a chapter for her next book in the series. I did like how she is setting the story line for new romances. I also like that she has finally added a black woman as a future life mate.

This book was perfect. Feehan delivers again. The plot is moving strong now...Mary Ann's story is next. Skyler and dimitri hopefully after. I have 2 chapters left, but it's been good to revisit old friends.

I absolutely loved this book. I have read all of her dark series and look forward to the next one. This book has so many of the characters that we've read about. I couldn't put this book down. The only dissapointment was, now I have to wait for her next one.

It was a great book as always she is obviously leaving things open for more books. I hope there is a continuation of Skyler and Demitri. And of coarse something on Dominque. The book is great she has most couples in it and it is funny and a great read.
