This book is refreshing: the idea of a child architect is novel to both children and parents, yet the life lessons in the book are simple and straightforward. Fun, interesting illustrations. Such a welcomed departure from trucks and princesses. It's currently my favorite gift for boys 2-5, although this book can and should be enjoyed by both sexes and all ages!

Wow - These illustrations are out of this world amazing! As an adult, I could enjoy looking through this book over and over again. The story itself is interesting, but there are some subtleties that are important to the story - but easy to gloss over. And why, of all things, would a story hinge on making things out of dirty diapers? My personal opinion, but that element could have been done better. Even my kids didn't think it was that funny.

Not sure if the author intended this, but it seems to beg to be read in an accent channeling Mark Twain or deeper south gentility. Similar to Violet the Pilot, Iggy Peck empowers child to be his own person despite influences of naysayers. Detailed illustrations and fun rhymes stand out among many favorites.

The cutest, funniest, and most cleaver book ever. Especially great for children of architects, artists, or art lovers. We read it almost every night to our 2.5 year old...it's a constant request! It is one of those books you do not get tired of reading; even once you know it by heart.

An absolutely fabulous book that my two-year old daughter loves listening to and I love reading. It is part of our nightly reading routine and a favorite gift to give others (in fact, it's now my nephew's favorite too). Very creative writing style and I love the illustrations. Can't wait for more from Andrea Beaty or even a sequel!

This book immediately became my 2.5yo son's favorite to have read to him - it arrived 4 days ago and it is the ONLY book he wants to read now! He is already learning some of the words and "reads" along with me. The storyline is delightful, and the book has great pictures, clever rhymes, and a wonderful message. I've already recommended it to my best friend who is a second grade teacher. I hope you and your family enjoy it as much as mine is!

I found this book originally at a Frank Loyd Wright site and I realized it was a good learning adventure. Lots of books about careers-but this is a bit beyond. Not the normal career path most youngstersconsider- but so important- and a fun thing.- Most children love to build"things" and this is a beginning for a great career possibility.
