The dynamic duo Piper Rayne have struck gold with this the first in their Single Dad’s Club series because if this is anything to go by then what is to follow will be equally as strong.
This book concentrates on Marcus and Cat and having read the previous series (Modern Love) I was quick to realise that the Cat in question in this book has made an original appearance in the previous collection. I do love it when there is a continuity from one collection to another although I would say that the authors didn’t labour the connection.
A summer job at a kiddie’s camp is filling Cat’s time before she takes her final step towards the career she has always wanted…to be an artist. So with New York beckoning, this feisty twenty something has nothing but time of her hands and a head full of future plans. Ones that certainly don’t involve getting involved with anyone, especially not Marcus but unfortunately his little girl is one of the kids on camp so interaction is inevitable…I just knew that this was going to be good!
I liked Cat, namely because she was more than able to hold her own but there was something about Marcus that got under her skin and although she was no pushover, the way this defensive man was with his little girl was enough to melt any heart. His relationship with her was completely joyous, and that only highlighted that his relationship with Cat was going to be far from a done deal.
He played his card very close to his chest but the two of them had history and that meant that there was an element of uncertainty brewing between them that I wasn’t actually sure they were going to be able to work through, I mean Cat wasn’t having any of his domineering ways no matter how hard he tried.
I loved the fact that she gave him a run for his money and didn’t make things easy for him. He had to learn to come out of his comfort zone for her and it was that process that finally woke me to the fact that this was a man that I actually quite liked, because much like with Cat, he didn’t make things easy for me.
A fast paced, witty read about a single dad who finally meets his match. A sound read that is highly enjoyable and leaves just enough of a hint of the wonderful things to come in the rest of the series.

So, first things first. I have loved Piper Rayne since book one. No questions, no doubts, loved. So of course after devouring that entire trilogy, there's no doubt this is an insta-click author for me. Now take that, and factor in a hot single dad aspect? Oh, just write me out and pass the smelling salts, I'm one swoon away from calling in sick just so I can spend the day in bed reading.

I have to say I didn't quite have the intense connection with the characters as quickly as I have in the past, and Marcus' caveman style of attraction to Cat annoyed me at times, yet that wasn't nearly enough to hinder my enjoyment. By the time I got a little further in and fell in love not only with his strength and hotness, but with his compassion and dedication as a father, I was a complete goner.

The Single Dad's Club is going to give these girls a run for their money, let me tell you. Dane is a jerk of the grandest kind, but something tells me he's a gooey marshmallow inside. Garrett is going to be my favorite, I can already tell. Raising a preteen on his own? Gonna bring out all my mommy fears and instincts with his story. This was a strong start to this new series, and the tie ins to my favorite characters from the first were a pleasant surprise but didn't leave you hanging in confusion if you haven't read it.

The drama threw me a little near the end, more of cave man Marcus, but I found it didn't annoy me as much by then. It really is a life lesson for a parent to learn that the happier they allow themselves to be, the happier their children can be. If you don't occasionally put yourself first emotionally, you aren't in any shape to make sure they're getting all they need from life. It's a difficult lesson though, and deserves a little drama to go along with it.

Overall, this was just the read I needed, and it left me with a pressing need to see how it's all going to play out for the Single Dad's Club.

Title: Real Deal
Author: Piper Rayne

4 unexpected stars

If there's one thing that I know I can count on Piper Rayne for, it's for the undeniable laughs as I read their books. I've read their Modern Love series and absolutely fell in love with how they brought their characters to life, adding a humour ours spin to it that I never saw coming. Considering that the storyline for this new series is entirely different from the previous one that I have read, there isn't any way that I can compare the two, which is not what I have planned either. This is a story about Cat and Marcus who have a history, albeit one that didn't end well six years ago, but one that keeps them coming back to each other no matter what. They're older and this time Marcus comes with baggage in the form of his daughter, whom he puts first no mater what, only Cat isn't the girl she once was at the age of 18 and isn't afraid to go for what she wants.

4 breath taking dreams

I did enjoy this book. It was different from their previous novels, it was entertaining, captivating and most of all, it was an adventure I could easily picture in my own mind. The chemistry between Marcus and Cat was something to behold, the relationship between Marcus and his daughter something that makes any woman's heart sing in wonderment... heck, who wouldn't want a man as invested in their child like a Marcus is, wanting to give her everything and even giving up some of his things that he might enjoy just for her. I can't wait to read more from this series as I know it'll only get better as Piper Rayne keeps adding to it!!

In this brand new series from this new author duo, I was introduced to sexy single dad Marcus and his daughter's camp counselor Cat. These two have an awkward history which is making for a tension filled present. Because Marcus is very attracted to Cat. But Cat seems to not remember their past from 6 years ago and when you add in their age difference and his trust issues, it makes for one heck of a bumpy road to romance.

This book had a lot of elements I like. Single dad who's dedication to their kid is obvious, younger leading lady who isn't completely naive and disconnected from the ways of the world, age difference to over come. It was all there plus so much more. And it was so very well written.

I was really impressed by Cat's character especially. Despite her actions of 6 years prior, and despite having some serious life choices to make, she seemed to be a very level headed character. She was smart and talented and stood up for herself. She didn't let anyone walk all over her, including Marcus.

I think one of my favorite aspects of the story and the series as a whole is the single dad's club, it's members and the idea behind it. But I particularly liked the dynamics between Marcus, Garrett and Dane. Marcus was that perfect middle or balance between the other two and I think he was the perfect character to come first in the series. He had so many great qualities and made it easy to be in his corner and hope for his happily ever after.

Overall I know I will certainly be grabbing the following books in the Single Dad's Club series because after this one I can't wait to see what Piper Rayne has in store for the other dad's. I want to see who finally tames Dane and I want to know Garrett's story.

Piper & Rayne have once again established they can write the funny alongside the sexy sweet with Real Deal. Real Deal is the story of a dad trying to figure it all out with his little girl. Independent and focused alley in his daughter, Marcus Kent's world is upended when Caterina, the art camp counselor enters his life.

Piper and Rayne not only gave you two wonderfully endearing characters to love, but a whole slew of side characters you can't help but pray they plan to elaborate on. Whether it was fun loving, big kid Dane or broody Garrett, Piper and Rayne has left me interested and begging for more.

Real Deal is one of those lighthearted love stories that you'll enjoy. I highly recommend you one click this one but also others by these two. They never miss an opportunity to speak to your heart while making you laugh.

Welcome to Climax Cove and the Single Dads’ Club!
Marcus Kent is living a rather hectic life between his business and five year-old daughter Lily, but he likes the small town life and he keeps them protected of anything that would hurt his little girl. The downfall of small town life? Everyone is aware of your business and there’s not a lot of “dating” material. Then, he sees an outsider and all his systems go on alert…until he realizes who she is.
Caterina Santora has taken a job working as a camp counselor for the summer before seriously pursuing her art career. The last thing she needed was to have a mistake from her past coming to her door step in the shape of delicious Marcus Kent. What is a girl to do?
Marcus is a very guarded character, but his attraction to Caterina will make him open up in ways he hasn’t since his daughter was born. The dynamic between the three of them allows him to believe he can have a family, but at the same time, he doesn’t want to stand in the way of what might be a promising future for Caterina.
If you read the Modern Love series, you will definitely remember Cat and her wild child antics. I’m so glad she got her own story and totally loved the woman she becomes by the pen of the authors.
It’s no secret I fell in love once I read the previous stories and I really enjoyed this one as well. The authors make the simplest things hilarious, the relationships between the characters, both main and secondary, are nice and believable and the book has an easy flow that will not disappoint.
I’ll definitely be coming back to Climax Cove for more Single Dads’ Club stories!

Ahhh, a sexy single dad! What fun! Where are those men in real life? Wait, I'm married so it shouldn't matter. I could *look* though ;)

After reading the Modern Love series by this author duo, and loving it, I had high expectations for this. They delivered! This was funny in some parts, most definitely steamy, and quite honestly, Marcus had me a little mad through most of it LOL I didn't find Marcus as swoony as previous heroes from them. He had a bit of an edge to him and could be rather jerky. He was sexy as all get out and I loved his take charge attitude in the bedroom. It was when he was out of the bedroom that aggravated me. He ran hot and cold with Cat because of an ex who he had a kid with.

I loved Cat! When we met her in Tahlia's book, I loved her spunk. She didn't disappoint here. She has grown up and knows her mind. I'm glad she called Marcus out on his inability to commit...that's what it boiled down to for him. I also loved that Cat realized what she wanted from her time in Climax Cove and let me just say, YAY! (I'm trying not to give away too much LOL)

Both Marcus and Cat had interesting friends. I think I know where their books will lead us. Dane needs a strong woman. That's all I have to say on that LOL It was great to see Lucas and Tahlia in the future and to hear about Lennon. Those girls (and Whitney) will always have a special place in my heart for introducing me to Piper Rayne :)

*thanks to Piper Rayne for sharing a copy of this with me*

When Marcus Kent drops his daughter at summer camp, he is greatly surprised who her camp counselor turns out to be. Not only is she someone he wasn't the nicest to in the past, he is now uncomfortably attracted to her...

Caterina Santora remembers Marcus and their shared history, but she isn't going to give him the satisfaction in knowing that. She is older, wiser and not the girl he briefly knew any longer... too bad she is still insanely into him... and with his adorable daughter in the mix, she doesn't stand a chance.

I loved this book! Caterina may be young and headed in a different direction in her life, but she finds herself feeling like she belongs in the small town of Climax Cove (and what's with these names? Ha!) She has formed some great friendships and when Marcus and Lily enter the picture she falls hard, and fast... even if she doesn't particularly think it's a good idea. Marcus is very protective of his daughter (as he should be) and while he doesn't typically let women in so easily, Caterina just fits them all so seamlessly.

With a sweet father/daughter relationship, interesting characters and a second chance for a romantic relationship this book was a fun and entertaining read.

I can't wait for more of this cute series! And if you have read Piper Rayne's Modern Love series, you get some past character mentions and cameos as well!

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review

A fantastic series. Touching, steamy, with characters you won't forget. I began with book three and had to get the first two. Real Deal begins the series. Who wouldn't love a guy who dotes on his little daughter, putting her first?
Marcus is successful, building and repairing boats. His clients come from all over the coast. Cat is the daughter of one of those wealthy clients. When they met years ago, she was too young, he was in a bad place in his life. Now they are both older, he's still ten years her senior and she's his daughter's camp counselor. She's even hotter now.
Their attempt to ignore each other is funny, his loud mouth friend has no filter. Dean says what he sees or thinks he sees no matter how embarrassing it may be. Little Lilly is a sweety with questions demanding answers as heart as big as the ocean they live near.
When they finally admit their attraction can they be more than summer lovers? Can Lilly be put first and they still have a chance?
I loved the emotions, rooted for their futures together, needed a fan for the steam between them and enjoyed their camaraderie with their mutual friends and the community.
Don't miss this fun book or the series. A feel good romance for sure.

There is a prequel called Jailbait to this story and I suggest you read that first (it’s free). Marcus meet Cat six years ago, the same night his life was turned upside down. He refused her then. But, now she is older and his daughter’s counselor at summer camp. Boy has she changed. He was attracted to back then but she was too young for him. Now she is still might be too young for him but she is old enough to make her own decisions. Marcus tries to fight his feelings for her until he just can’t anymore. It bugs him that she seems not to remember him at all. Marcus hasn’t been with anyone since Lily’s mom. Lily is his whole life. Is Cat the person to help him begin living for himself not just for Lily? I liked this book. It is steamy, funny, and so much more. Both Marcus and Cat have changed a lot in the last six years. They have grown and maybe they weren’t meant to be together back then. Maybe they had to do that growing to be able to be together now. Lily is a great little girl. She is all over the place but is beginning to ask questions about her mother and express that she wants a mother. I am eager to read the next book in this series and I already have it. Can’t wait to see which dad falls next.

Piper Rayne knows how to deliver! This book was sexy as sin, hilariously awkward, and featured a hot single dad who put his daughter first. Swoon. Ladies, get ready to book your trip to Climax Cove!

Caterina wasn't the young and naive girl she was 6 years ago. She had big things happening in her career, but she needed to make a trip and volunteer at a camp before committing to a life she wasn't sure she truly wanted. Cat became a camp counselor and connected with a young girl Lily. Lily happened to remind her of her past. That past meaning Marcus Kent.

Marcus Kent was a single dad who had one thing on his mind; protecting his daughter Lily. He was yummy to look at, but no woman would hold his attention long enough to even say the word "relationship". Walking with his daughter to the first day of camp, had his groin cleavage begging for action ;) As soon as he saw the girl who threw herself at him, he knew he couldn't pass up this opportunity once again.

Cat and Marcus had a 10 year age difference, but was age just a number? Could he finally treat and respect Cat as the grown woman she was or still see her at the young girl he briefly knew? Was Cat going to pretend like nothing happened and move on?

So many questions that will be answered in time. You are guaranteed a laugh and cry after reading Real Deal. It will leave you searching for a Single Dad'said Club near you haha but seriously. These two were magical..like a UNICORN! And when Lily wants a mommy, she better get a mommy.

Caterina and Marcus have a bumpy history, or rather one that she is embarrassed by and one that he wishes he had handled differently. I think we have all been there in life, with a situation we felt we didn't think through or one that we realized we could have handled in a much better way.

This is the basis of their relationship, and one of the things they have to work past. I thought this was an interesting beginning to a relationship, and it felt different than other books I have read, which was nice.

I am a fan of these authors as I have thoroughly enjoyed everything that I have read by them, which is rare as I am picky. So, when I saw that there was a new book out by them, I must admit I was excited to read it.

And, I was not disappointed. The plot and pacing were both strong and well developed. I thought the part about how much of a priority his daughter was to him was a bit over done...not that it was not reality, but I really didn't ever think that this was in doubt, from either side, so I thought that this was addressed maybe a little more than necessary. But, it was not enough of an issue for me to be unable to enjoy the rest of the book.

I am looking forward to the other books in the series, and I recommend this title.

Single Dad's Club series starts off with 5 stars!! Piper Rayne grabs you right from the start and consumes you until it's done. Mason been taking care of his daughter, Lily from the beginning. A group of single guys meet at a bar and call themselves the single dad's club. It's been 6 years since he last saw Catrina aka Cat. Well she is now helping out at the camp he takes Lily. Mason is torn with what to do about his feelings toward Cat. The resistance between those two at some points just made me want to be able to go into the pages and tell them to just go for it already! Cat can't get what happened 6 years ago out of her mind. Can the two of them start over?
Real Deal has it all- characters are well detailed and could be realistic maybe someone can relate, caring family/wanting to be family, hot scenes.

I really enjoyed how Mason took care of his daughter, she always came first.
I also liked how Cat got attached to Lily.

Favorite quotes:

"From the moment they placed you in my arms, you snuggled right into my heart."

This book was adorable. Its unlike the other series that Piper Rayne has written, where its not hilarious. Its more emotional than funny and while the other books they have written are emotion filled they have a lot more humor to kind of balance them out. I'd say this was just a romance book not a romantic comedy. It was lighthearted but filled with love. That being said it was an amazing book and I absolutely loved it. As a parent myself (Not single so no camp for me xP) it was amazing to see the love Marcus had for Lily. To read about a parent putting their child first before everything just made me swoon, I mean a caring man with groin clevage and a sex pack, sign me up please! The connections in this book were also unexpected (I'm sure anyone who actually has a brain while reading this would find them right away but it took me a long time to be like OH WAIT NO WAY lmfao.) It was cute and fun and just an all around happy nice read. I loved all the characters I've met in this series and I just have to say I'm guessing Dane and his love interest will be my favorite in the series ( I just want to predict it in writing because I can say oh I Knew it or oh man I was so wrong.) If I had to pick a man for me though it would for sure be Marcus, broody, secretive, loving, sexy, swoon worthy Marcus.

Single dads are my biggest weakness. I mean, come on, who doesn't love seeing a guy with his kid? And if he's hot, yep, so weak.

Marcus is a great dad, he puts his daughter, Lily first and that is how it should be. Talk about swoon worthy.

Cat is a blast from the past. The two have a rocky history, but they're older now, more mature, they can deal with their present. Right?

Piper Rayne is not a duo I've read before. But I know after laughing, swooning, and feeling, I will be reading more of them. The dad's are great, all of them love their kids and appreciate a well, or not so well joke. This mismatched group will have you wishing you were the woman they fell in love with. The feels for Marcus and Cat, as they try to navigate a relationship despite the circumstances Marcus finds himself in, it's touching. I really felt for Marcus and his struggles. I understood his reservations as a person, and loved how he did the best he could do.

I cannot wait for the rest of the single dad's club books. I have a feeling they're going to be the perfect combination of heart, heat, and humor

Marcus and Cat have a history that Cat is not proud of. So when she runs into Marcus when he drops off his daughter at Summer camp, she pretends that she doesn't know him.
Marcus can't believe how much Cat has grown up but also he is sort of hesitant to approach her as the last time they spoke he was kind of a a***hole to her.

But Marcus and Cat can't deny the attraction between them. So he starts pursuing her and Cat can't deny that even though it didn't go so well the last time between them she still wants Marcus. But how did he become a single dad. And Marcus doesn't know if this thing between him and Cat is just a summer fling as she has to go back to her life in New York.

All in all I felt it was a good story, I just felt that seeing as they knew each other from before the getting together part should have happened a bit sooner.

And man did I love the other characters. Seriously Dane, WTH he was hilarious. But it's Garreth's book that I can't wait to read.

I will read the rest of the books in this series

I really enjoyed this book about Marcus and Catarina. Marcus is a single, protective dad of 5 yr old Lily. He's such a great father that he even learned how to braid Lily's hair! Catarina is one of the summer camp counselors where Lily is going. Cat recognizes Marcus from 6 years earlier when they met and she threw herself at him but now she acts like she doesn't recognize him. Marcus recognizes her and tries to get her to recognize him. He always puts Lily first which is wonderful, but it sometimes leads to interruptions. They have some problems to overcome - he's 10 years older than Cat, he has an ex who is Lily's mother, he takes care of Cat's father's yachts, plus friends with differing opinions about their relationship. This book made me laugh and get upset with Marcus' friends and their advise. It's a little different than the previous books by Piper Rayne but it's still wonderful! I think Dane and Garrett will be in the Single Dads Club and I can't wait for their books. I also can't wait to see how Dane gets his and if he matures :) I was given this book in exchange for my honest review.

Real Deal by Piper Rayne is the first installment in the Single Dads Club series.
I Loved the Modern Love series by Piper and Rayne so much, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. And it is a great read.
Meet Marcus Kent, 34 year old single dad of an adorable 5 year old daughter. He's a successful business owner and memeber of the single dads club in a smalltown.
And there is Caterina - Cat- Santora, she's 24 and works at the summer camp Marcus' daughter attends. But they are old acquaintances.
Read about secrets, insecurities, horny single men, drama and love.
I read it in one sitting and was well entertained!
I love this story and can't wait'll the next book releases.
5 Stars and thank you Piper and Rayne !!

Single dad Marcus has been bringing up his young daughter Lily by himself and he has his priorities right. He's always put her first but when he bumps into a face from his past in the form of sexy camp counsellor Caterina, he starts letting his barriers down and doing something for him. Caterina is a sweet woman. Working at the camp before she decides whether to move to further her career, she has a natural instinct when it comes to kids. Her and Lily's super sweet relationship made me like her even more.

This book is an easy, light hearted read. It's low drama, got plenty of sexual chemistry and introduces us to some of the other members of the single dads club, ready for their stories.

I have loved everything written by Piper Rayne and Real Deal is no different. Marcus lives in the tiny town of Climax Cove with his five year old. Cat is spending her summer in Climax Cove teaching art to kids at summer camp before she goes back to New York to start her career. Cat is hoping to avoid seeing Marcus again after an embarassing encounter six years ago. Unfortunately for Cat, Marcus' daughter Lily is in her group. Unable to avoid each other and ignore their chemistry, Marcus and Cat hook up. Will their summer fling become something more? Real deal is a hilarious, sweet, and sexy book that I could not put down. The writing is wonderful and full of witty banter.

I love reading about a father who loves their child so much and are willing to do anything for them, they always come first. There's nothing sexier than that.

This is the continued story of Marcus and Caterina and what happens after Cat's humiliating rejection (from Jailbait: Single Dads Club #0.5).

I loved these two as a couple.

Marcus is a great single dad who's all about his daughter and Cat is an unselfish person who willing to be there for Marcus and knows his daughter comes first always.

Great chemistry, great attraction, a really great story

A very funny, sweet sexy story. Marcus is a single dad to a cute little girl named Lily. Dropping Lily off at camp he notices Caterina a girl he was a jerk to when she was younger. Caterina is all grown up a camp counselor and painter and still thinks Marcus is hot but a jerk at the same time. Marcus can't get Caterina out of his mind and wants her but how far will he go? Can Marcus trust Caterina? Will Caterina fall for Marcus? Loved the little girl Lily her spunk and sweetness. A great single dad romance that ends perfectly. 4/5 stars ****Reviewed for Sweet & Spicy Read provided for a voluntarily Advanced Reader Copy of this book ****

Marcus is a devoted single dad to his adorable little girl Lily. Caterina is the daughter of one of Marcus’s clients, and is in town for the summer as a camp counsellor. When Marcus humiliated Caterina 6 years previously, he did not think they would ever cross paths again. The attraction between these two is explosive. No spoilers, you really need to read this awesome book for yourself!!
This is a well written story, and the plot flows seamlessly. This story is humorous and sexy. I highly recommend this authors work for all readers, and cannot wait to read more from her.

Who knew single dads can be sexy? Because if this series starter is an indication of their hotness, then it's pretty clear that there are a lot of untapped single dads out there!

We met Cat at Tahlia's story as the bratty sister. But this time, she's all grown up and responsible. But is she ready for the responsibility that is Marcus, a single dad of the precocious five-year old Lily? Or will theirs be just a summer fling that will run its course? Whatever the end is, you will definitely fall in love with the adorable tandem that is Cat and Lily.

In a short time period, Piper Rayne has become possibly my favorite authors. This book starts a new series, but with some familiar faces from the previous series. First, Marcus is one sexy, quiet, brooding daddy. Lily is Marcus' cute, adorable five year old daughter. Then, there is Cat, a beautiful, sassy young woman, that is also Lily's camp counselor. Piper Rayne then spins a beautiful love story about these three people, with some naughtiness and laughter thrown in. I absolutely loved this book. I voluntarily reviewed this advance copy, and it is a must read.
