Piper and Zane love each other but there are many obstacles in their path with death hallows coming to keep them apart. Piper finds out more secrets her mother and grandmother kept from her but she and Zane are strongest together and hope they can reign in the rogue reapers with a bigger war on the horizon.

More of the first book. No surprises just the continuation of the story line. It is harder to get into the second book because it is made for a much younger audience but I managed to finish it skimming a few parts.

Following my review of the White Raven - I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline, but again - what is it with the horrible language? I still don't understand. My kids aren't teenagers yet, but if they ever talked like this I would die. The insults could have been toned down quite a bit, in my opinion, without damaging the storyline in any way. I'm still anxiously awaiting the third book - a great story!

Piper is adjusting to being White Raven, after losing Rose. She is adjusting to needing to marry Zander, not Zane. She is learning to fight. Zane is teaching her. Piper will have to send T.J., her brother, back to Chicago.
Excellent plotting & characterization.

Sadly, she slipped up a little this time, whether in rushing publication or in using a leader copyeditor. Her normally strong prose is this time beset by many of the errors that bedevil the YA genre, but her strong storytelling still makes this well worth the read.
