Fun to read, engaging, and I could almost taste the croissants! The story unfolded nicely, it wasn't obvious who the killer was and there were some twists and turns. It left me wanting to more about all of the townspeople and especially Molly and how her gite works out. I look forward to reading more of the series.

I enjoyed reading the book because of the setting (France) and because I identify with the protagonist (she is a woman alone). The plot was a little thin, but plausible. I especially enjoyed the characters who seemed realistic for the most part. I would probably read another book by this author.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book and will definitely be reading the rest in this series. I was transported to a quaint village in France and could imagine the village and its inhabitants by the authors description. I enjoyed the main character and thought it was a good mystery.

Art school, up and coming artist disappears, Speculation. Where it's she, why n message left our a phone call. Heart broken parents, searching, hoping. Accidental finding body, remembrance of a little thing and figuring out almost too late who did it.

I liked this village, quirky characters and all. The dialog was thoughtfully written, adding to the realism of the characters. Plot was well developed and believable. I am looking forward to reading the next volume in this series

This was an interesting and compelling story it held my interest throughout it and was quite nice to read. Now included a lot of details about French culture and how people in different societies interact.

I enjoyed this mystery. The author painted a lovely picture of village life with very interesting characters. She made me long for French pastries and coffee. Will certainly want to follow this series.

I thought the parts about her transition to living in France were interesting, possibly because I have visited France. The rest of the book dragged and unfortunately was boring. I would not recommend.

I would recommend this book to anyone that would enjoy a mystery that keeps you guessing to the very end. You are constantly wondering who the murderer could be in this small village. I found it to hold my interest through its entirety. I look forward to reading more in this series.

A very pleasant change of scenery from the usual American settings. Enjoyed the snippets of French too, reminded me of how much I actually know but have forgotten. Looking forward to reading your next book.

I love mysteries filled with suspense, but every once in a while, I like a. break. This book makes a mystery fun. The characters are interesting and descriptive. My only complaint is the length of time it took to solve the crime.

I enjoyed this book. The narrative was easy to get through. The characters were interesting and I suspect will become more detailed in the next book. Some parts needed more development especially the ending. It was too abrupt, but it was a nice book to read with a hot cup of tea at night.

I have read thousands of 'who dunnits' over the years and invariably I guess 'who did it' way before the end.
The Third Girl deserves 5 stars for being an interesting and engaging read , but also for keeping me in suspense until the murderer was revealed. Well done, Nell Goddin!

I enjoyed this book very much and just purchased book 2. The main character Molly is a fun character and the writer draws you into her life. It is a fairly quick, easy read. I wanted to keep reading to find out who did it and were they responsible for all three girls disappearances.

I really liked the fact that the mystery plot started at the first and It makes you care about the Outcome! The description of the city made me feel like I was walking the streets. The sights, the smells, the food and people made me feel like I had been there before!

The variety of main characters in the town kept me guessing as to who could be a murderer. I did not guess till the very end. I liked the small town setting, the friendships among them. The police department were an interesting mix, very different personalities, yet they worked well together. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries.

I enjoyed this book until the last few pages. There was good description of the French locale, good character development, and a well developed plot. But toward the end, the author let us down. At the most suspenseful point, I felt as though a chapter was deleted. Overall, a good read.
