Quite good. Unusual story for John Sandford. I am used to the detective thrillers, but very good, nonetheless. Only disappointment was realizing that it was only part one of a continuing story. Oh well, something to look forward to.

Sandford is GREAT, partnership starts rocky, ends up engaging, BUT, BUT I HATE multi-parters that take a year+ to devolve. A for execution C for completion, so stay with the boys, that F**** Flowers, and his [aging[ BOSS, Davenport!

Although I like Sandford very much, this seems like a pure money grab, connecting some smaller novellas into what may be several books. I don't enjoy cliff hanger endings unless I have the sequels at hand. I will read the rest of the series when they come out, but only from the free library.
Dead Watch (Night Watch) :: The Devil's Code (Kidd) :: Lincoln Rhyme vs. Lucas Davenport - Rhymes With Prey :: Shock Wave (A Virgil Flowers Novel) :: Dark of the Moon (A Virgil Flowers Novel)

This book kept me reading all night! Thrill after thrill, turn after turn, the plot is amazing and the characters are glorious. If you like thrillers, don't miss this one! Can't wait to read the series!

This book was interesting on many levels, including plot line and characterization. However, I purchased Uncaged because it was a John Sandford book, and I was disappointed. The entertaining sense of humor that John Sandford normally incorporates into his stories was missing. I suspect this book was mostly written by Michele Cook with oversight by John Sandford. So, buyer beware. If you can think passed the John Sandford name, you will enjoy the book more.

I was expecting a John Sandford novel with a beginning, and end, with continuing characters, continuing sub plots.
Not a soap opera with the end of the book leaving everything still up in the air. The end of the book was more like the end of a chapter in a normal John Sandford novel.
It read well but left me unsatisfied. I did go on to read the next in the series and it was just more of the same, a good read but unsatisfying.

Interesting characters and moment to moment suspense doesn't give the reader any place to stop! Caused me to be rude and not go to sleep at same time as husband....he felt quite upset. Our nightly ritual of holding each other, kissing, saying "I love you" and "See you in the morning" was disturbed...I'm 80 and he is 88....oops!

I love John Sandford, Lucas, and that effing Flowers. I enjoyed the novel for the first 100 pages or so - did finish it, and enjoyed the story overall. After the first 100 pages, I felt that I was reading a book written to attract teenagers, maybe especially 15 to 17 year old girls - like my granddaughter! Keep 'em coming John, but please get back to Lucas and Virgil. I won't be reading Singular 2 or 3.

While not as good as the Virgil Flowers series and without the humour of the Davenport series it has a faster paced flavour with an unlikely but interesting protagonist. Altogether a departure from Sandford's police procedurals and other stand alone novels with it's emphasis on social activism and corporate malfeasance. A real page turner.

John Sanford does not write substandard novels. Jon Sanford writes above average to great novels. This is readable but heavy on the canine saga and feel good story of the kids over the bad guys. I don't know if this is due to the additional author but I hope it is not the start of a new trend. Hopefully he will return to plots that make his stories so great.

John Sandford bring us a few new characters with, street smarts, quick minds and tons of trouble. They are up against a corporate menace gone totally rogue. Catch part 1 and hope for a quick release of episode 2.

while the book was intresting, it was long and drawn out, with impossible theresys. i am not over joyed to invest that much time reading a book and at the end finding out that if i am intrested i have to read the next and the next and the next etc. i respect sandford and enjoy all the prey books. i feel let down with this book.

why john Sanford ( I consider myself his biggest fan , have read everthing he wrote twice at least.) allowed his name to be connected to this pile of s*** is beyond me.then I get to the end and find out it's continued. I thing i'll pass on the second installment.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was face paced and kept you guessing as to what was going to happen next. The characters are likable and evil depending on what side you're on. I can't wait for the next book. Great job John Sanford! ( and Michele Cook) I've been following your work for years.
