This was a perfect escape read, I turned my brain off and enjoyed the heck out of it. I loved the humor, liked the characters and didn't put it down until I finished it (it was a really fast read but I like that it wasn't overly wordy and "stuffed"). I've never read about dragon shifters and that was a cool touch!

The story had you waiting to see what would happen next. There was just enough characters to make the story well rounded, but not enough to confuse you. The characters stayed true to themshelves yet surprised you at times.

Angie Weldon was startled by the piercing blast of a fire siren which caused her to spill her coffee down her clean work clothes, shattering the mug on the floor! Smoke poured out of her second-hand toaster (whose timer and eject spring were broken), and her charcoal flaming toast dropped on last week’s newspaper. Of course the newspaper immediately burst into flames and she smashed the toast with a wet dishtowel – oops, not a dishtowel, but her yoga pants! She grabbed her ringing cell phone to find that her 8:00 appointment was waiting for her and she was 20 minutes from work! Putting on a dirty t-shirt, she ran out the door.
Eoin was getting coffee when he read an article about his art work. The art critic said it lacked emotion and depth. He stormed out the door to the gallery and accosted Lorenzo, the gallery manager and art dealer who had his art on display. Lorenzo finally admitted that when he looked at the art, he felt nothing. Art should make you feel some level of something! Disgusted, he left and strode across the street. He had given an angry glare to a woman running down the sidewalk and he deliberately stepped in front of her. She ran into him, after her flip-flops bent under and her toes were scraped and bloody. He then held her there despite her protests. She pulled out pepper spray and sprayed his face, then ran so fast her feet barely touched the ground.
Angie’s business was a back-scratching service for shifters. Her client was not pleased at being kept waiting. She didn’t even have the time to wipe the soot off her face and clean the ketchup off her shirt. She was sweating and had not put on deodorant – and all her clients were shifters who would get the full scent. Oh boy.
Eoin in the meantime was trying to heal his burning eyes. He hated to be delayed in pursuing the woman, but he had her scent and she couldn’t hide from him. After all, it had been over 100 years since he had last seen a female of his kind!
When Eoin followed her scent into her workplace, he had her assistant call her out to talk to him. Ryota, the wolf shifter alpha whom she had once dated, followed her out. He told her Eoin was a dragon. Eoin said she was trespassing on his territory and he would escort Angie and her mate elsewhere. Mate? There was no mate? Ryota spoke up to point out that humans did not have to follow the supernaturals’ laws. But Eoin wanted to speak to her in private, and Ryota would not protect her. She would need to find a way to apologize to the dragon and still keep some part of her dignity. What was Eoin’s next step? Angie was unmated, and a she-dragon, although she still didn’t realize it! Could he stay away from her? Or could they have a future together?
This is one of those amazing books you immediately know you’re going to love! From the first page, I was laughing continuously at the crazy events of her morning – all too familiar when you’re having a bad day! Her day continues to get worse, but the reader will love how Angie handles things. She’s perky, sassy, and a very strong woman! Eoin is likewise a powerful character. He’s crabby and gruff, yet is quickly “subdued” by the energetic Angie! I definitely recommend this book (and the series, actually) for pure enjoyment! You won’t be sorry! And if you want even more enjoyment, the audiobook is absolutely fantastic! The narrator is excellent with giving each character a voice that fits them perfectly, and the pace and tone of the story is captured exactly right in her narration! You will definitely enjoy this one!

A dragon who scares everyone, except a woman running a back scratching business for itchy shifters. Yep, this book was funny! And it had a wonderful little mystery. And I hope we hear more about the vampire in the dungeon. There has got to be a heck of a story associated with him. Also I loved the young omega shifter, Beth. I hope she gets a story too.

Love the main characters and the story grabs you from the beginning. The book is
open to more titles. I wished some parts of the story had been explained a little more like how dragon society works. Other than that this book is a great fantasy read!

An interesting story about a dragon and his fate. It did feel like lots of the world building or context was missing i.e. the city comfortable with a dragon and werewolves but no explanation of how it got to this point. Questions left to pursue such as the vampire who regularity kills people locked in the basement.

I'll definitely be reading more by Annie Nicholas after reading Not His Dragon. I enjoyed the relationship progression of this novel, Angie was a heroine I can admire for her spirit and bravery and now she has a man to match her!

Somewhat original and mostly enjoyable. I like that it kind of hedges Romance cliches. His fame due more to being a dragon rather than his acutal work. Even though he is rich his house is neglected and other things along those lines. I don't want to spoil the story.

So Angie runs a back scratcher business yeah a little silly. She a dragon cursed to stay in Hunan form has no clue she was from who knows where by who knows and for some odd reason adopted by humans then eoin comes along frees her by saying I love you and two other dragons want her affection. Where is her family are they missing her did they not care

I read “Not His Dragon” perhaps picking the perfect moment to do so and this has allowed me to fully enjoy this story.
After reading a dark romance with a really dark atmosphere, I found myself in front of Annie Nicholas’ lightness and irony, which often you can find in her books: a real ray of sunshine!
I love these things about her and her vivid imagination.
From the very beginning I realized Angie, the female protagonist was fantastic and after she met Eoin, the lonely dragon, things got only better and better.
Angie is human, or so she says, she grew up in an orphanage after the death of her parents in a crash, and among a thousand financial difficulties she managed to start her own business, her name well-known among the shapeshifters, because:she’s really good on back-scratching them in her spa, and giving them necessary treatments to keep healthy their fur.
Let me say that if only for this idea we should give her a medal! I literally go crazy for the back-scratching card and I am not even a werewolf … but let’s move on …
Angie has close contact with supernatural creatures, she has even more personal relationships, friendship and also a torrid affair with Ryota the alpha of the wolves pack in the city, but things between them have never moved toward a mating bond, since her human nature and Angie wants to avoid such complications.
Everything changes when Angie clashes-meets Eoin, a dragon feared by everyone, he isn’t convinced Angie is just a normal human.
Eoin is very special, he is a solitary creature, an artist in a time of crisis, as his works lack that inspiration able to convey emotions.
Angie seems to ignite something inside him, the fighting spirit of the woman and the attraction he feels for her and how she’s intriguing led him to try to find out who she really is and Angie’s work creates an opportunity to do so.
Eoin offers Angie a lot of money to the girl, and she can’t refuse, if she’ll take care of a bad infection of the dragon’s scales. His money could solve many problems for Angie, but creates a perhaps even a bigger one, given the attraction she feels for him, which could undermine her good intentions to not attend more men “different humans”.
As I said I loved Angie from the beginning, she’s fun, sassy and irreverent when she speaks her mind, even though deep down she is a very sensitive and vulnerable, she feels a strong need to belong, because of the loneliness in which has grown.
Eoin is just amazing as a character. I love dragons, in the paranormal books they are the oldest and most powerful creatures and they shows these characteristics in every way they interact with others: they are threatening and aware of their power, possessive, curious, but apart from all this, what I liked most in Eoin is instead his respect for Angie, his way of flirting with her openly, without forcing her too much.
He’s hot, he knows it and tries to tease her, but also always tries to help her and respect her need to be free and independent.
It is a very very nice story, light and enjoyable, a must-read if you love the paranormal romance with dragons!

Really like the story. But it needs more. And there was way to many cuss words. Some pages (on my iPhone no less) had over six F words!! That's way too many. It degrades the author for sure. Made it really trashy. I wont be reading anymore. Hardly could finish this one.
And needs someone to proofread. Several contradictions in story. Like how old he was when he just said the cheaper before... like author forgot he said 300. Werid. And when he brought her home from a date on his bike. Next thing you know, in his point of view, it says he left her on top of the roof! When it had just said they kissed at the front door. it made me laugh!! There was more mistakes.
Needs more world building. Like why humans know about them. Why Cedric didn't let him die so he could finish stealing her. Because she'd be mateless again. If they mate for life and only one time. That sort of thing. I also hate that they can force mate. Sick!

Enjoyed this story very much. Dragon shifter finds his mate, who he wasn’t even looking for, only she doesn’t know she’s a dragon. She’s convinced she is human. Was a little slow explaining some things, like her aversion to eating anything prepared or touched by a man. Was convinced the fact that she could eat pre-packaged foods was a plot inconsistency, as this wasn’t explained until well into the story.
Why can’t the author keep the story straight between rooms 1 and 3? Client is in room 3, but comes out and tells her the sink is clogged in room 1. How did he know that if he was in room 3? Later there is a discussion in room 3, yet the receptionist overheard their conversation in room 1. Get it straight already.
Other than the confusion over the treatment rooms, editing was pretty good until the last couple of chapters. Seemed like was rushed to publish and just gave up on the editing at the end. Such a shame to spoil a good story this way. Ex. He flew over her head, landing to block the away, instead of block the WAY. And she had to revert her gaze instead of AVERT her gaze. A TOC would have been nice too.

I am not the typical fan of paranormal romances, but I found this story to be well written and entertaining. I like the way the author uses Eoin's dragon sense of smell to detect and fall for Angie. The attraction is beyond his logic and starts affecting him like a super strong pheromone. I love romances that have that strong attraction that borders obsession and activates a protective instinct between the Hero and Heroine.
The romance between Eoin and Angie grows and its cute the way he is always sniffing her and holding himself back. Lots of sexy scenes ensue with Eoin being very possessive of Angie. Romantic situations with Eoin's love finally breaking all the barriers between them.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Not His Dragon is an interesting and amusing shifter romance. Eoin, our hero, is an artist. He is also a dragon. Angie operates a “back scratching” salon for the area shifters. She is also a dragon, but thinks she’s human. They spend time together when Eoin hires Angie to tend to a problem with his scales. There is definitely an attraction. All Eoin has to do is persuade Angie she is a dragon, teach her the fundamentals, convince her that they are mates, and fight off the competition (females dragons are in short supply). Easy - not.
With a cast of quirky characters and a storyline somewhat different from the usual shifter romance, Not His Dragon was truly entertaining. Eoin and Angie are the perfect fit. The secondary characters are great. I really like Viktor, the Vampire tattoo artist.
The book was a gift. The review all mine.

A female Dragon who grows up thinking she is human because her parents died when she was a child. Until a male Dragon sees and scents her she grew up thinking that she had some sort of shifter ancestor in her past as she could not shift. This is a world where everyone knows about shifters and other supernatural brings and they all live openly among humans. Only Dragons and Vampires keep to themselves because of their natures. This is a bit different from most shifter stories where they are happy to mate with humans. Although Eoin is happy to be with Angie even if she can never shift they cannot mate because only her Dragon side knows how to complete the mating dance. I voluntarily agreed to read a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review about it.

I loved this book.
Eoin Grant hasn’t encountered a female of his race in decades, and this crazy person’s scent declares her unmated. Fate set her in his path, and he won’t let this opportunity slip through his claws. No matter how wary she is of him. After all, how many chances does a dragon have at finding love? But fate can be a crueler mistress than his perfect mate. Of all things, she thinks she’s human.
Business is taking off for Angie Weldon. She put her freakishly sharp nails to good use when she opened her back-scratching spa in downtown New Port. The local shifter community pounced on her skills and she’s knee-deep in shed fur. By the end of the year, if lucky, she could afford to move out of her crappy apartment.

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems for an honest review. Annie Nicholas is another new to me author courtesy of Hidden Gems! I'm about to start the 2nd book in this series! If you love paranormal romance with mystery/suspense/humor and some delicious steam?? This series is free on Kindle Unlimited!! I couldn't put it down once I started reading. Eoin is the kind of hero that grows on you as the story progresses because he's all alpha but at times so adorable when he's clueless and shows his vulnerability. Angie is a firecracker but she's had to be to make it so far in life. No spoilers!! Get the book!! You won't be sorry!!! ??

Angie owns her own business and is constantly dealing with issues needing repair such as clogged sinks and more. They seem never-ending and are costing her. Eoin is a dragon shifter. They crash into each other and so it begins. Eoin is an artist having issues with his creativity. While his talent clearly shows, the emotion is missing.
I loved how feisty Angie is and how it delighted Eoin to see. How he reveled in every feisty reaction from her, loving it, never put off by it and adjusting his approach accordingly. It was fun, hot and emotional.

A dragon shifter. That's the 64 dollar question. Eoin is furious to smell a new she dragon in his territory and accost Angie. Thinking she's human she defends her self with ald fashioned pepper spray and runs. Eoin tracks her down and aftet talking finds out that Angie can't shift. Then two other male dragons enter Eoin's territory because of the lure of an unmated she dragon. Oh and throw an possessive Alpha werewolf ex boyfriend into the mix and you have some really interesting drama.
Will they find the root of Angie's shifting prroblem/curse? Wiil Angie ever shift? Will Eoin and Angie mate, or will one of the other dragons win her hand? And what about the ex?
HUM, im not telling on so I highly recommend reading this book to gind out the answers.

** spoiler alert ** Eoin Grant is a dragon who left his family determined to make it on his own. Angie grew up never quite fitting in with the humans or the shifters. One sniff and he knows what she is. Will Angie be able to break free of the curse put on her? Will Eoin be able to keep her safe?
Loved how despite trying to resist, neither character could deny their attraction. I loved how strong Angie was and how she was determined to not just lay down and take everything. Loved how once Eoin accepted everything, he was willing to do whatever it took to help her. Great read!

Before I begin, let me give you some information about me and how I like to read. I'm a binge reader. If a book is part of a series, I prefer to read the series in one sitting while the storylines and characters are fresh in my mind from one book to the next. That being said, I usually don't read a book that is part of a series without have others in that series to read. But I made an exception with this book, and I'm glad I did. There are only a handful of authors that can craft a book, that would encourage me to read straight through without stopping. This one did. This story is about a young lady, who has opened a business specializing in a unique talent....back scratching. She has some sharp nails, and knows how to use them. But she has run afoul of the dragon of the city, who orders her to leave. Of course, she declines and there begins the story of the dragon and the not dragon.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a free advanced reader copy of this book. Dragons, woo-wee! So here’s the story...a she-dragon who doesn’t know she’s a dragon but knows she’s not 100% human because she has abnormally sharp nails. What does she choose to do with the unusually sharp nails? She opens a back scratching business to help all the shifters in the area! Why didn’t I think of that? As you can probably guess, this story has some wild and hilarious moments. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy the dragon race and humor!
