The book is good but you really need to remember some words that he talks about cause then you have to keep going back to reread what that word meant. They were latin words. I would much prefer just reading English. The book and content is good but really Richard Carlson is much easier reading.

I used to own a set of these books until I lent some out and never saw them again. I was so happy to find the boxed set. I am trying to practice these agreements so it is handy to be able to reread the material. The seller had these to me quickly.

How can so much wisdom come is such a small box? Do you want to be happy? Do you want to be at peace? Do you want the experience of love? Within the pages of these three inspired books, Don Miguel Ruiz gives us nothing less than the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.

The first book of this 4 book series, "The Four Agreements", is the one to get. Don't bother with the boxed set. Each of the additional books is mere repeat. In one of them the author uses a very unfortunate and non-compassionate example of rape as something that, with his techniques, can basically be buried.

This book is a fast and wonderful read. it only took me three days to read it but the message has stayed with me since. It really makes you step back and look at how you treat people and others treat you. I would recommend this to anyone trying to become a more peaceful person and understanding toward others.

I wish everybody in the world would read this. It would be such a better world. An excellent example of how powerful the spoken word is. More often
heard in a negative damaging way than in a positive and life giving way

I have read The Four Agreements several times and have given it away each time I finish. This time I saw the 3 book boxed set. I have almost finished The Voice of Knowledge and feel it has opened me more to who I am and how we are all one. Looking forward to reading the last of this threesome: The Mastery of Love. Be well and enjoy.

Lots of wonderful and valuable info. In this collection of books some of the info is repeated but that is okay with me. Sometimes you need to read the same info more than once to really get it to sink in... especially if you give it some time between readings.

One can also seek support from friends, family members or even if so inclined ones church. This book helps you create your own support system within yourself and makes it easier on you as an individual. I'll be getting copies for many people in my life...:-)

i so enjoyed the four agreements. it's like that old saying goes "i should've went with my first mind". these are things that we know but we put to the waistside or ignore when we shouldn't. if we just listen to our hearts. we'd all be better people.

I bought this book to send to my son who is in the service. Tom Brady said on radio that it's a favorite book and reads it once a year. Since I do not believe that Tom is otherwise a big reader it seemed like the perfect choice for my own son. It's a good quick read that you can easily go back over and over the parts that call out to you.

The trilogy of writings are so profound! Knowing anyone who is lead to Don Miguel Ruiz's wisdom will be truely blessed. My favorite part is found at the end of his first master piece, The Four Agreements, pg.134, The Prayer for Love. Every time I read it, I find myself in a Holy Moment. Thank you and enjoy your blessing. Also try this book by Gregg Braden Secrets of the Lost Mode of Prayer: The Hidden Power of Beauty, Blessings, Wisdom, and

During my separation with my ex-husband he purchased these books for me. He said they were a good read, and considering he's not a reader I couldn't wait to begin one of them!
There are three in this set, and they are all related to each other. In The Mastery of Love, the author repeats over and over that love is the only thing that can provide happiness. The Toltecs believe everything is made of love. The only way to master love is to practice love. It all revolves around us as an individual.
In the book The Four Agreements there are four rules to live by: Be impeccable with your word, don't take anything personally, don't make assumptions, and finally, always do your best. Each of these is detailed in separate chapters, and he notes that if we make these become habits that we practice on a daily basis, our lives will be richer.
In the book The Voice of Knowledge, he takes us back to when we were little; before we even acquired a language. We were pure before learning to talk and to understand spoken words. However, once we learn how to speak and to put meaning behind words, then we become contaminated with knowledge that is riddled with lies. This book suggests that we go back to the way we were before language poisoned our perceptions of ourself and helps us to find that inner peace that we all strive for but not all are fortunate to find.

The message is conveyed in new-agey/spiritual language which normally would put me off, but in fact the advice is very practical and sensible, and would undoubtedly make the world a better place if everyone followed it. One slightly problematic area is the endorsement of victim-(self)-blaming: the author suggests that we 'allow' abuse to happen to us because when we abuse ourselves, we are willing to accept any abuse that is up to the same level as our self-abuse (if that makes sense!). He suggests that once we eliminate or negative attitudes towards ourselves, we will stop accepting abuse from others. This may be partly true for some people, but fundamentally abuse is always the fault of the abuser! It worries me that men or women reading this might be convinced to blame themselves instead.

I really wanted to like this collection, but it reads like advice for a child. Very repetitive and simplistic. Extremely broad generalizations of human behavior. This approach may be good for people who haven't explored psychotherapy and are just beginning to question their unhappiness. For anyone experienced in introspection and self-improvement, this collection doesn't elevate the conversation.

The book made some good points that I’ll try to remember and incorporate in my everyday life but overall it wasn’t life-changing. Maybe for the time it was published (mid 90’s?) it had some newer concepts that most people who read the self-help genre hadn’t heard before. The book gets really corny at parts but most notably the last chapter. The last chapter is atrocious. Here’s a summary, “Love everyone and everything all the time. This will bring you peace and you’ll be transported to heaven on earth.” Seriously? That’s the chapter you want to summarize your book that had a few decent points? The author didn’t even try to tie all of the rules into a cohesive conclusion. Instead he just drones on about “Love everyone and everything and your life will be perfect”. Sounds pretty great right?
Example of corniness: “Focus on your breathing. The air in your lungs is love. See the trees. The tree you see is love” I understand the man is spiritual but give me a break. Those ‘love comparisons’ don’t help the reader at all.

Principles of this book are nothing ground breaking and the writing is ok. However, the writer says he is keeping these culturally secret wisdoms and publishing them, which I think is horrible marketing. And the way he blames society for its ills through all of his "dream" examples is too easy a way to try to hit a broad target identify with what he is saying. If you want something simplistic to try to explain basic concepts, this might be for you. If you already feel you are an educated thinking and looking to expand your mind and be more tolerant while still analyzing your own reactions, this is way below your reading level. I will be giving these books away to my 9yo niece.

The Four Agreements Toltec Wisdom Trilogy Collection is truly profound and offers insights to the first steps to transform our lives. Toltec wisdom illuminates a new perspective on conduct, love and knowledge.
There are three books in the set: The Four Agreements is the first book and reveal concepts and beliefs feed to us as children. These beliefs become an inner voice that limits our power, robs us of our innate joy and induces needless suffering. Here are the Four Agreements offered as ancient Toltec wisdom on conduct: 1. Be impeccable with your word, 2. Don't take anything personally, 3. Don't make assumptions, and 4. Always do your best. Each code of conduct is detailed in separate chapters and easy reading.
Book two "The Mastery of Love" presents insight on love, joy and happiness that is already inside us. Our innate source is Love. Miguel Ruiz provides stories and messages on life to show how one can heal emotional wounds, recover a joyful heart, resume a playful spirit and let go of control of others. This is vital in loving relationships.
Book three "The Voice of Knowledge" introduces us to our lying mind. The ego mind speaks from learned contaminated knowledge poisoned with beliefs that are not our own. Once we stop believing in lies that lead to constant "assumptions" that cause conflict, suffering and drama we can realize personal freedom. These subconscious lies undermine our own innate truth and relationships. Ruiz reminds us that we can access our truth within, find our inner peace and recover our faith through the practice of listening to our own innate inner wisdom and using common sense.
I had purchased all three of these books and the collection was given to me as a gift. These are amazing books by a widely acclaimed author who inspired me on my journey to transformation and change. All three are short books and a must for anyone's inspirational tool box. The collection comes in a hard case and has a durable cover. I makes a great gift. Pass it on...

Wish I had these books 40 years ago to de-program my head from all the virus that were implanted there by good intention society and family. I now understand why I could be feeling good one moment and be tormented with gut wrenching feeling of doom. I picked up the CD's as well so I could listen to them every evening for past two years as I re-program my inner values and rid myself of foolish judgement to a standard that was impossible to ever live up too. Toltec knowledge for me was like showing me that the world is not flat like everyone has been telling me all my life. Nobody can unburden you from all the negative thinking we heap onto our self but you. The sooner we take responsibility for our thoughts the sooner we can enjoy life as it was meant to be. What would it take if all our life we had been told 2+2 is 38 just to find out twenty years later the truth that 2+2 is 4? It would be hard if not impossible to accept. The books do a wonderful job of providing real life examples through out the book to make the point of the truth that we can see in our own life. If you are sick and tired of being on a roller coaster and ready to really enjoy your life to the fullest by doing honest assessment of your core beliefs then you are ready for a life worth living. What is great about these books is that you only need take from them what you see value in and pass over what you see no value in. It is impossible not to find something in these books that do not enhance your joy for life. The author did an outstanding job through his examples in the book that connected with my life giving it deep meaning for me to put into practice. Highly recommend the book set.

Powerful books. I own them separately and will now buy the set and give my other ones to others who can enjoy and benefit from them.
The knowledge in these 3 books changed my life. It came to me at a time of grate pain and sorrow after the passing of my oldest son, what I learned from these books has helped me achieve peace, love and regain the balance that my life needed. I definitely recommend it to absolutely everyone

I read this over and over again. The lessons in this book are amazing, and simple to understand, although slightly more difficult to implement on a daily basis. This book has honestly made me a better and happier person.

I think everyone should read this book, when they are ready. It is fantastically written, simple and very much to the point. Ruiz writes the stuff that I think all of us know is true, but we've never had it written out in a way that is so easy to understand and internalize. I've grown from reading this book. I've been giving it as gifts to all the people closest to me. The transformations in self awareness are palpable.

this book is fantastic for anyone who is interested in improving their spiritual and/or emotional health and growth, these important areas of life! it is an easy read and potentially life-changing. i made a refrigerator magnet of the four agreements (written in a positive voice, e.g., "i take nothing personally" instead of "i don't take things personally") and i frequently read one. often it is the very agreement that i have recently been violating and no longer want to rule my life. i just bought ruiz's new book "the fifth agreement" and expect to enjoy it immensely.

If you are curious about this book, forget the positive reviews. Read the one star reviews. Especially the long ones. They are completely accurate. I should have read those first. This was not AT ALL what I expected it to be. I couldn't even get past the first half of the book. What was this man thinking writing such crap?

I was introduced to The Four Agreements by my daughter last year and have tried to live as close as i can to those agreements. Being able to purchase these books on line through the store.com saved me lots of walking, parking fees, rifling through books on stands, and going on line every time i wanted to get the exact quotes for someone. I didn't know about the other two books in the set but they are also excellent reading and give great advice for everyday living.
Thanks the store for the excellent delivery of the books, they got here faster than it would have taken me to get my car out of the garage, and find the only shop in Wellington that i know of that sells the books, find a carpark and then find enough change in the car for the parking meter.

i really enjoyed what this book had to offer. the 4 agreements sound so easy to do but can be easily overlooked in day-to-day affairs. however, one must try, try again until it becomes habit. follow these 4 agreements and you will soon see how it feels to live in harmony!

I enjoyed this 3 book set immensely. I would recomend it to anyone. I have purchased this same set for several friends and they also enjoyed the books and found the information both helpful and easy to understand.
Sometimes simple concepts or ideas can be life changing. If you are ready to make a positive change in your life consider reading this book to help you find a place and or direction to start.

Don Miguel Ruiz's Toltec wisdom is very akin to our own sense of wisdom and common sense. It is reassuring to know that we already have this wisdom stored within us.... yet these books give us in a subtle way a new space, a new perspective to contemplate our lives, and our roles in the universe, our connection giving us faith in our deep human values.
