I loved this swash-buckling adventure in another world. Swords, nobility, evil wizard, interesting humanoid species with unique abilities. Sort of reminded me of the Star Wars series set in a medieval setting. Kids will love it, adults too.

This is a well thought out fantasy with engaging heroes and evil villains. The premis of 'another world' is neat and keeps the dialog flowing. Three books is just enough without obvious redundancy.

Excellent fantasy adventure. Great experience reading to my nearly-grown children who still tolerate this pain better because of Brandon Mull's craft. We found this trilogy after completing Mull's brilliant Fablehaven series for the second time. The Beyonder's breadth of characters and the short time sequence inside books makes this a quick and exciting read.
A World Without Heroes (Beyonders) :: Rise of the Evening Star (Fablehaven, Book 2) :: Royal Institute of Magic: Books 1-3 :: Sky Raiders (Five Kingdoms Book 1) :: Dragonwatch: A Fablehaven Adventure

Definitely a beginner's fantasy set of novels. Characters are one dimensional and all the plot evolutions feel like the writer had too much he wanted to accomplish in one book so it felt way too rushed.

This series was really good. I enjoyed it so much. I think anyone that enjoys a good adventure will love this series. I do think that he should have written one more book but that is just me. I love Brandon Mull's books!

I've read the FableHaven series and the Candy Shop Wars. This particular series keep me involved and had me caring about the people even more than the other books (which I also enjoyed). Perhaps this one felt grander in scale, which higher stakes, but also had that sense of truthfulness in just how long and hard a struggle it is to overcome a dictatorship; the false leads, the deaths, the injuries, the doubts, the guesses...

I kept thinking of the George Martin books as I was reading this. Though less gory and with none of the sexual aspect, the scope, the seriousness, the long journeys and vulnerability of the lives and, of course, the battle for the crown, were a strong part of it. Certainly, this series is better for younger readers than the Game of Thrones series.

This book truly made me love this author and series. I have read all of his book and encourage him to write more. The one default is that he always gives these cliff hangers with no explanation of what happens to anyone. Still my favorite author by far.

These are awesome books. I have not had to reread a series as soon as I finished it cense Harry Potter, Though they are not the same or quite as good they are awesome, lots of humor. Highly recommend them.

Good read for adult fans of fantasy and young readers alike. The books were exciting and characters made you want to know more about them. Lots of twists, turns and surprises! I thoroughly enjoyed the series.

This series pulled you in on a fast paced adventure and continued through three volumes. I cared about the characters and their choices. This was an inventive new world, not drawing on others creations but inventing an entirely new dimension. I will be reading more of his work soon.

My 11 year old has never liked reading much. With the Beyonders, he would ask to keep reading by himself at night. He then wanted me to purchase it for my tablet so it was easier to bring with him. We couldn't put the book down and I would have to go back to catch up with him.

Well written with the ability to capture your attention. I read the set in less than a week to see what my ten year old was reading. I was spruced and delighted to find I enjoyed the books as much as my son.

these books were amazing. I wish there were already 3000000000000000 short stories to go along with it. my favorite part (also the saddest) is the epilogue in book3 Chasing The Prophecy.
everyone should consider reading them. no matter what age. just READ THEM.
