This book is absolutely awesome! I read at least one book per week and I would sacrifice one year of reading just to find another book as good as this one. ANYONE who enjoys fiction should read this book, no matter what type of fiction they prefer.

If you liked Flowers for Algernon you will defiantly enjoy Miracle Man. I enjoyed reading this book very much, and I'm very selective about what I like. It is fast paced and will tug at your emotions. I highly recommend it.

The author tells a wonderful story and keeps you guessing what's going to happen next. Robert Austin, the main character, is both easy to love and unloveable at the same time. His accomplishments in the book are astonishing - I wish he actually existed! Looking forward to the next book in the Miracle Man series!

I typically read during my commute and try to find books that are stimulating and can hold a reader. This book did just that. The development of Robert from a young age to adult along with the constant scientific testing allows the reader to feel for him. The growth of the main character happens later in the book but the reader is engaged and can feel the change. All leads to an ending that is truly worth it.

This was practically a one-sitting read for me (except for mundane activities that couldn't be ignored) and was a totally wonderful read! I'm only wondering now how long I have to wait to read anything else Mr. Leibowitz will offer us. My choice of reading is usually mysteries and thrillers and Miracle Man was unique among that genre.
Patiently awaiting a sequel .....

A thought provoking and interesting book, but it does not quite live up to the hype in my opinion, and that, perhaps may have as much to do with the writing style, which I did not care for, as it does the actual content. The book left everyone in my book club wanting "more" from the story. We liked the premise and thought the characters were interesting, but simply wanted more from the story. Perhaps a sequel would give us that.

While I liked the main character and thought it an enjoyable read, the back drop of “government bad / capitalism bad” bothered me. I agreed with the implied lesson of “every life is valuable”. But the book is less a fictional escape and more a morality tale.

Well-written and compelling, this story takes on the formidable task of following someone from age four into adulthood, and having the whole thing hold together. The fact that the person possesses unprecedented intelligence makes the task that much more of a challenge. Kudos to the author.

I really liked this book. I usually read at night and could not put this book down. It held my attention, is well-written and an excellent read. In addition, the lack of clarity between good and evil interestingly did not leave everything all neatly tied up in a bow, as is often the case.I did not see certain twists and turns in the story, which I chalk up to the intelligence of the author. In addition, one complaint I often have with modern day authors is the inability to end a story. This was not the case with Miracle Man.

An absolutely wonderful read! It immediately caught my full attention from beginning until end! I couldn't put it down. I was thrilled to find the author & immediately looked for other novels...but was surprised to find this was his first! Bravo! Excellent skills! I hope there is a sequel soon!!!!

A little far-fetched, but the author made it believable. Afterall, stranger things have happened. What I really enjoyed was how well the hero was developed and how I found myself rooting for his success. Fun read! I couldn't put it down and this book kept me wanting more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Once I actually got into the story I could not put it down. A real plausible scenerio. Many people experience trances and in alpha find a lot of answers. I am looking forward to a sequel.

Very engrossing story which I thoroughly enjoyed. While Mr. Leibowitz's writing was occasionally a tad sophomoric, overall this book is a very strong first effort and a great story. Well worth your time and money.

Very enjoyable read!! I liked it from start to finish and felt his pain and joy through out his life. I think you will too. You'll feel the anger toward government bureaucracies because you see from the beginning what they are only interested in accomplishing.

This book makes you think.....yes.....think!! In a wonderful story of man versus big business, the book raises issues that are seldom seen in books of this genre. I read all the time and this one stands out for a unique plot line and a chance to use my brain. Excellent effort!

Really enjoyed this book. Made me think about our current focus of using drugs to manage disease and why as the author says in his epilogue, have we not cured a disease in 50 years. Characters are well developed. This is a super hero we need and want in our world today. Looking forward to the sequel.

This is my first review ever! I love books about the brain and its ability. This book was that and more... The story was always progressing at a fast pace, I couldn't even find a good stopping point to go to the bathroom. I just wanted to keep reading. I can't wait for the sequel.

I enjoyed reading this book - enough twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. Going back and forth between the past and present kept the suspense level high. Definitely recommend it as a good summer read!

Great! no spoiler alerts here :)...but if you kind of like mild scifi with a great plot, like me you will not be able to put it down. Finished in a day and a half, despite having other things to do could not put it down! Gets you going from the very first word!

Exceptional read. I couldn't put the book down after reading the first page. The author captures you at the beginning and it's easy to feel the emotions of each character. Look forward to reading the upcoming sequel!! A must read!,

I thought the book was great! With all the controversy about our pharmaceutical companies, here in the US, it causes you to think about all that could happen with them, if someone like the Miracle Man were alive and well. I would recommend Leibowitz's book....I think you'll enjoy it.

Amazing read. I could not put it down. The ending was truly unsuspected. I eagerly await the sequel. Would love to see what "the other" would do with the gift ;) I was glad to follow the process of the Dr.'s upbringing; the tragedies and the triumphs, and his growth emotionally. The values he gained and expressed remind us that we truly impact each other, we have choices, and no matter how much we are doing, we can do more.

I was held spellbound throughout the book by the attention to detail and amazing and unique use of language. I learned many new words, and my favorite phrase was:
Peering into the emeralds that had smitten him on first sight, Bobby seemed almost etheral in his equanimity has he responded to the ancient question.
Suffice it to say that I enjoyed entire book, I look forward to reading the next one.

Miracle Man is a story that challenges the intellect, has a great plot and makes you want to read on. I found myself really looking forward to my train ride because I was going to have a few minutes to myself and Miracle Man. Bobby, the main character is truly heartfelt. I haven't read a book in a few years and Miracle Man has me back out there enjoying reading. Give it a try, you will enjoy it for sure.

In “Miracle Man” William R. Leibowitz weaves a story about a baby rescued from a dumpster who grows up to have an I.Q. too high to measure. The tale of Robert James Austin, a superhero who goes into trances when he does his most creative thinking, is filled with currently trending social topics. The book features lesbian protectors, a sexually abused love interest, the greed and lies of corporate America, a homeless hero, CIA and other similar bad guys, and the concept of a “Superhero” in and of itself. Everyone wants to exploit Austin and turn his intelligence toward the development of military superiority. Alas, Austin has other plans. He decides to use his stellar intelligence for the good of mankind. The reclusive mega genius solves the riddles that underlie disease after disease, driving himself mercilessly to work twenty hour days. He makes a promise to his dying mentor and is determined to keep it. As he produces more and more cures he drives the drug companies to desperation. Leibowitz casts a wide net in his specifically described characters and there are passages in the book that indicate a deeper ability to engage the reader than he has demonstrated in “Miracle Man”. It appears he has done careful research in the sciences to create the plot. I will not go further so as not to give away the ending. It appears this book is leading to a series of books along the same subjects. (less)

This was an excellent book with a great ending. I couldn't put it down and my friends that I have lent and recommended the book all felt the same. I can see Bradley Cooper play this role and when I emailed William he agreed - I highly recommend this book.
