I started reading these books before I ever knew that one day I'd be living in a small village in Tanzania for a month! I was delighted while living there to read another of these books, and the previous ones prepared me, culturally, for that wonderful adventure!

I've read this author for years, and absolutely love this series. It just makes me feel good to pick up one of his books. He's such a talented man, and never fails to entertain me. I hope he keeps producing such wonderful tales!!

This was another great book by McCall Smith. I love this series and he did a great job keeping all of the wonderful characters in this book. Not quite as much suspense as some of the older books, but still a great read and had a hard time putting it down.

There is something about this series of books about Botswana and the "agency" and the great people there that has a most beneficent effect on me. I simply feel good while reading these books. Very strange...but wonderful.

This series has become very formulaic and VERY simplistic. I think Dr. Smith can probably sit at his computer and let his "fingers do the walking," as they used to say. It's pretty clear his head isn't much involved. I think I'm done with the Ladies #1...the series was fun when it first began, but I think it has run its course.

I try to read everything Alexandar McCall Smith writes, but I have to admit, my favorites of his books are the Number One Ladies' Dectective series. Thhe books are charming and well written. His characters come alive for me and I'm al ways sad when I come to the end of one of his books because i enjoy them so much I hate to see them end.

All of the characters in this series of books are so delightful. It is heartwarming to read about life in Botswana, If you want to just relax with the lady detectives and find out how to solve crimes with no bloodshed, you will love these stories.

I have purchased all the books in this series & enjoyed listening to every single one. Lissette Lecat is an excellent reader. I love the way she does the Botswana accent. It's very understandable and adds such authenticity to the recitation. It goes without saying that the author is a master story teller. I can listen to these stories when my grandsons are in the car with me without worrying about the appropriatness of the language or storyline.

Another great story written by McCall Smith, the #1 Ladies Detective agency series, stories told about wonderful characters full of old traditions . Reminds you of what is important in life. You can't help but fall in love with all of the people in his stories.

This is a thorougly enjoyable book. It is the latest in the series of The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency located in Botswana. I have read all of the books, and am looking forward to the next one in the series. I strongly recommend that one should read the first book in the series. In that way, there is continuation of the story. Trust me-after you read the first book, you're hooked!

As always, I loved the timeless wisdom and compassion displayed by Precious Ramotswe. Artful story weaving by AM Smith. His books are just addictive! I'm always sad when I finish one of the books about Ms. Ramotswe and friends and so excited when I find there's one I haven't read yet.

We really enjoyed this whole series - and this book (even though it is way down the line), did not disappoint us. It meanders just like the Botswana people we have met, and is most enjoyable and realistic. We feel we could be in the story and actually, as we are living in Zambia now, understand that "that's just as it is on this side". Mma Ramotswe and her assistant are great characters with which one can identify. In our humble opinion - A great read -

Alexander Mccall Smith's No.1 Ladies Detective Agency series takes the reader to an altogether nicer, simpler world. When you've read a few of them, every book in the series is like a visit to dear old friends.

This 11th in the "Ladies No.1 Detective Agency" series is as enjoyable a read as the previous ten. The further adventures of the very likeable characters kept me entertained until the book was finished, all too soon.

I love this series - cannot wait for the next book to come out each time. The writing puts you in Botswana - slow, deliberate, examining nature and human nature. This one zeroes in on Mma Makutsi's wedding plans and more of Speedy Motor's apprentice Charlie's misadventures. More mystery solving completes the story. It's heartwarming, funny and also very real. One of my favorites in the series.

Yet again another easy and entertaining story by Alexander McCall Smith! Having grown up in Africa, I can always associate with the surroundings and the characters so cleverly described by this very talented author. Wonderful escapism from this crazy busy life and I hope there will be many more delightful adventures to follow from the life of Mma Ramotswe and her fellow country women and men.
