This book continues the gentle story of Precious Ramotswe and her life as a detective. The whole character of these books gives a respectful and loving portrait of life in Botswana, and distills life down to its essence. One can really sense the joy of sitting in a chair at dusk, drinking a cup of Red Bush Tea, looking at the sky, and thinking appreciative thoughts about simple things. Love this quick-to-read series and can't wait for more books!

I think this entire series constitutes some of the best literature available anywhere. Starting with the first book in the series, each has made me aspire to be a better, more compassionate person. Tea Time is not my very favorite of the whole series (I liked the first book and Tears of the Giraffe somewhat better), but it is still a very good book and I read it in one sitting. Thanks again, Mr. Smith.

This is another great book in this series - I have enjoyed each of them so much. I have learned much about the way of life in Botswana and feel confident that he knows what he's talking about. I am amazed at how he understands the way a woman thinks!

Tea Time for the Traditionally Build is one of the more delightful of the Alexander McCall Smith's The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency Series. It has a love triangle with Maa Makutsi's fiance and her former classmate from the Botswana Secretarial College. Maa Ramotswe cleverly foils this man stealer even while she is bemoaning the terminal failing of her beloved white van. These two traditionally built ladies as usual save the day.

I give high marks to anyone who can successfully promote a series with such a depth of love and understanding and true to life settings. I love Precious, as well as Grace, and all the rest of McCall-Smith's characters in the No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency novels.
I got hooked by reading the one I consider the best so far: The Good Husband of Zebra Drive, but this one comes very close. I've read all of them now and will recommend them wholeheartedly!

I so love the simplicity, truthfullness and honesty in all of the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency. It makes me want to go to Botswana to drink red bush tea and smell the rains coming. Reading this series makes me feel good, I never want them to end. I feel restored in human faith. Please Mr McCall Smith, don't let Precious' world ever end. Love love love xxx
