Things are never as they first seem for Mma Ramontse and the unraveling of them is the fun of these stories from Botswana. Every one is a morality tale with a satisfying ending. In this book Mma Ramontse is cajoled into taking a vacation but it is short lived when an assistant calls her back to help solve a case.

I love all of these books. They are sweet, kind, feminine in the best sense of the word. They depict a culture so very much different than ours that is being heavily influenced by modernity. Read them all.

You will never go wrong reading Alexander McCall Smith books. I will order every book in the series "The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency" and then pass them on to my grandchildren. He is a wonderful writer and his characters are just so interesting.

I always look forward to reading Alexander McCall Smith's Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency books. It is easy to get into the stories and see myself right in her office drinking tea with her assistant, Mma Makutsi Radiputi. I loved the heartwarming ending of this book.

These are the best light hearted entertainment - the characters and countryside are so different than books set in the U.S.
Interesting and entertainment. I highly recommend anything written by Alexander McCall Smith.

Alexander McCall Smith has done it again! His insight into human nature and relationships is extraordinary. The story deftly weaves humor into the "detecting" and causes the reader to laugh out loud. You will not be disappointed!

Alexander McCall Smith has done it again. Each new story about the Number One Ladies' Detective Agency outshines the previous. I just love Mma Ramotswe: her values, compassion and wisdom. Long may she live!

Alexander McCall Smith's No. 1 Ladies' Detective stories are told sweetly and with gentleness. As the reader witnesses the human tangles of life be tenderly unknotted, we remember there are more good people in the world.

I love this series. The plots are always interesting and the main characters are people you would like to know. The #1 Ladies Detective Agency is run by two very capable ladies in Africa. I highly recommend this book and all that came before.

That's her name (the number one lady detective), and that's what this series of books is to me. I truly enjoy all the characters in this series. Each chapter is like a little story. This book is simple, sweet and very entertaining!

This is not the best novel in this beloved series, but the author does not fail the readers. It is a novel filled with a strong and highly positive sense of love and purpose and is a thoughtful meditation for the soul.

Alexander McCall Smith is a feel good writer. He is skilled in getting inside the thinking of his characters. If I am feeling discouraged about the world his books cheer me up. Likable characters. A few oddities such as talking shoes but when he writes it--it is fun.

First introduced to this series by my husband, who has been to and loved Africa. We have every books in this series and I, who hate to re-read books, find myself re-reading these, with great pleasure.

Another delightful visit to Botswana and Mma Ramotswe, The Woman Who Walked in Sunshine is short on drama but long on charm. The mysteries are not very mysterious, but the humanity is rich and full and priceless.

Mrs. Ramotswe was at her best - even while on holiday. Her relationship with Grace Makutsi was strengthened in a rather convoluted way,. During it all the reader would pick up the points of living a good life.

If you're looking for light fun summer reading this is it! If you haven't ready the first few books you might want to read them before you read this one just to be able to catch some of the humor and background.
Enjoy!

Alexander McCall-Smith writes such charming stories it is hard not to love them. This one is no exception. The interplay among the characters is always respectful, though sometimes mildly contentious. I will read whatever this author publishes

Like all of the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency books, The Woman Who Walked in Sunshine is a lovely, light, feel-good novel with a few thought-provoking insights about the value of old-fashioned morality and friendship. A most enjoyable read.

I love these books. Have read them from the very first edition that was published. I hope to read many more. I love Precious and Grace, and all the rest of the usual characters. Long may they live in fiction land and in our hearts.

Alexander McCall Smith knows the African woman. I lived ten years in three countries in Africa. It is a special place with a unique culture that is captured with the characters in his stories. I have all his books and hope that he keeps writing. I've passed my collections to many friends and they in turn to theirs. Fun reading.

Always the antagonist is the other woman. The author has introduced current topics - gayness, etc...but Precious is on the job. The African voice is true. I liked this one for the several stories it included; can never stop putting them down. When is the next one? A year from October? AFRICA
