This latest installment of the Ladies Number one dectective agency is as good as the ones that came before it. It is like saying hello to an old friend. The writer has a knack for make you feel as though you are right there.

This is yet another delightful read about our favorite "traditional" lady of Botswana. She continues to solve her clients' problems with simple common sense and a belief in the goodness of people. The characters in this series of books are so endearing, and Alexander McCall Smith makes you long for the simplicity of life that he portrays so well. I recommend the 'No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency' series to anyone, and look forward to many more.

Another wonderful story by Alexander McCall Smith. Good entertainment and read beautifully by Lisa Licat. She can really bring the Ladies Number One Detective Agency series to life. I highly recommend any of these books.

What's so remarkable about this series is that not only do you develop such a resonating bond with these wonderfully drawn characters, but you also feel completely transported to another place. His ongoing love letter to Africa continues to surprise and delight, and although it wasn't my personal favorite of the series, it was nice to sit with Precious and her gang for a few hours,

This was a another installment of McCall Smith's wonderful series of books set in Botswana. Having lived in Kenya 35 years, every book of this series has caused me to pleasantly remember my life in Africa. Smith treats the characters gently and carefully, giving them very believable personalities and lives. While reading, it is hard to think that Smith is a man writing the thoughts and feelings of an African woman.

the store had my books delivered to me in perfect condition in a few short days, as always. The book series, The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, by Alexander McCall Smith, and by the way, his LAST name is McCall Smith, are delightful, filled with humor, good nature, and kindness.

I listened to this title, it being the latest book of the series, and of course thoroughly enjoyed it. Some of the series I read and some I listened to on CD. Beautifully narrated and written. I'm hoping Mr. Smith has a lot more of the No.l Detective Agency and all his interesting characters to write about. I'm no writer but I always appreciate those who are.

What can I say? This is another charming installment in the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series. I wish Mma Ramotswe and Mr. J.L.B. Matekoni really existed so I could meet them. At any rate, this series makes me want to visit Botswana. If you liked the other books, you will definitely like this one. If you are starting out, read them in order from the beginning.

After reading all the Ladies Detective Agency books, I thought this one was a little on the bland side. Mma Ramotswe solves issues a usual, but the story was not as eventful as others. No problems with the seller, but it took a little bit longer to make it to the east coast.

This installment in the No. 1 series is as delightful as the others. That being said, if you don't like the others, you most likely won't like this one. The pacing is similar, as is the tone. These are not your typical "mystery novels," and I've know people who just didn't get into them. As for myself, I can't wait for the next one.

This is an excellent series of books (No.1 Ladies Detective Agency) to listen to on CD. Lisette Lecat does the voices so will with the Botswana accent. This series of Alexander McCall Smith's books are a delight to hear and read.

Another excellent offering to the series. Our gentle and understanding chief detective is aided by others, including the men in her life, to solve mysteries. I always appreciate the small things of life, a cup of tea, sunrise, etc. more after spending time with Precious Ramotswe. Each book stands on its own, but anyone who reads one should endulge in the entire series.

Once again Alexander McCall Smith entertains us and uplifts our spirits as Mma Ramotswe and her colleagues deal with human nature and developing world economics with resourcefulness and grace. Kudos to Mr. JLB for his quick thinking!

First, I enjoy the detail in the stories authored by Mr. Smith, but this story had too many details for my tastes. Second, one of the story lines involves a woman who fears her husband is cheating because he frequently is out late. I won't spoil the outcome but it is never explained why he was out late. Last, the CD folder describes part of the story which is never touched on in the CD. Very strange and does not affect my rating of the book but never the less I wonder why this happened.
