Absolutely adore Lucy and Ben. She's the perfect free spirited hot mess to compliment his too tightly wound control freak personality. There's just enough heat, sweetness, intrigue and danger to keep you swiping to the next page. A good read!

This fast-paced, well-written Russian Mafia romance story has it all... suspense, mystery, drams, danger, undeniable chemistry, passion, an interesting storyline that kept me turning the pages, and great characters.

This is a very quick entertaining mafia read. It is a fast paced read and keeps you on the edge with the suspense. Ben and Lucy have definitely got chemistry and work together. I really enjoyed this book.

This was a good Mafia romance read, although it lacked the flair of a great Mafia romance. I did enjoy the story and the characters, I just wanted a little more excitement, a little more danger and a little more heat when it came to the s*x scenes. Otherwise a good read.

This was a fast paced story that is the beginning for a new series. While it was only like 140pages and I ten to love longer stories, it didn't take away for the overall book. It was good and I look forward to continuing on with the volkov brothers series

Well written fast-paced romance with the mix of drama, angst, passion, chemistry, steamy scenes and mafia family.
Characters well described. Twists and turns makes it worth the read. It is a fun, sexy and captivating short read.

I voluntarily read this book for an ARC. I really enjoyed Ben and Lucy's chemistry together. She seemed like just the kind of woman that Ben needed. The book went quickly but because there was some action and suspense, it really added to the overall effect of the book. I would read it again!

Great read. Love Mob romances. Ben was in the mob looking for his godfather who stole money from the mob . He needed to find him so his family wasn't responsible for the money. He meets Lucy who is looking for her father, the same man he s looking for. They team up together to find him.

Liked that Lucy was able to break some of Ben s control. He still was a tough guy but he could lose control sometimes.

This is a new series for Leslie North. Put together a hot Russian mobster and a good girl and what do you get, love. Ben is looking out for his godfather, Pyotr, who stole millions for the Brava. If Pyotr is not found then Ben's family has to pay the Bratva back. While on the lookout, he sees a young woman and her dog, being castles by a few street punks. Should he step in and help her or just stay on the lookout. His decision will change everything in his life. Lucy is looking for her biological father Peter (Poytr) Mishin when these street punks start to harrase her when a man steps forward to save her. A man who only has to show the tattoos on his knuckles to make these punks move on. After telling this stranger who she is looking for, she needs to see if she can trust him or not. This is a story that will keep you turning the page to see what is going to happen next, will either or both of them reach their goal, Ben to get the money to payback the Bratva and Lucy to find her biological father. Can they work together or together will they find something more important.

This was a really enjoyable read and a great start to a new series.I just love the way Leslie writes you get pulled right into the story right from the start when bens godfather steals millions from the Brava and if he does not find him then his family will pay while looking for him he comes across Lucy she is trying to find her Father but is being harassed by thugs when Ben saves her.Realising they are looking for the same man can they work together to find him and will they act on the attraction between them.A super read that I did not want to stop reading I cannot wait for the next book

This was a fun read as it had some intrigue as Ben and Lucy looked for Lucy's bio dad, Peter, along with their romance. Fortunately, there was not too much with the mafia that Ben was involved with so it wasn't a dark story and not filled with violence.

It was funny to watch controlled Ben meet free spirit Lucy and try so very hard not to fall for her! She did not fit into his idea of the perfect wife, and she made him lose control which he was not very happy about!

Glad that Ben finally came to his senses and realized that Lucy was worth losing some of his valuable control over, and they had a nice HEA!

Great start to the Volkov Brothers series. The characters are complex and intriguing.
I liked the instant attraction / steamy romance between Ben Volkov, a member of the Russian Mafia Bratva in Chicago and Lucy Paprocki who is determined to find her real father, Pyotr Miskin.
The story both entertaining and intriguing from beginning to end. What more can you ask for???

I was given an advanced reader copy which I voluntarily agreed to read. This book is funny,sad,drama filled and you quickly get attached to the characters. Who doesn't love a dark brooding man who loves cooking and dogs. The heroine is looking for her dad,the hero his God father, wow the same man hunted for distinctly different reasons. One is ridged and unbending,the other is airy and kinda spontaneous. Who would have thought such opposites would attract. This is an amazing love story,well worth reading.

I read this fully expecting a dark, intense underbelly kind of story. And while it's definitely not light and sweet, it is hot romance. Ben is an outwardly bad man, but finds his heart with and Lucy. Add in the suspense and drama of the russian mafia, and it makes for a really interesting, well done story. I'm excited to read the next installment in the Volkov family series!

A definite attention grabber from page one. What draws a guy more than a damsel in distress, let alone a dog named Pavlov. The characters are great, laugh one minute bite nails the next. A world most of us would cringe thinking that such an entity has power over you, and for Ben a life he wants to lwwave. Another grear love story with adventure suspense and Leslie's twists that keep turning the page. I happily volunteered to read a copy of this book and loved it.

This book is definitely a page turner that will draw you in very quickly. The story of Ben who is part of the Bratva and Lucy who is the estranged daughter of a Bratva member will keep you enthralled with their polar opposite personality traits and wild hot attraction.
