This book was not nearly as good as Claiming Grace. There was way too much sex and not enough content. It was like the story was too short and sex was used as a filler. Hope number 3 is better. Really like Claiming Grace.

I received an ARC of Claiming Alexis via Netgalley however I also purchased a copy. This is the second book in the Claiming series by Susan Stoker and is another good book. She has a certain writing style that connects with the reader that makes us want to keep coming back for more. This is Blake Anderson's story and the object of his affection is Alexis Grant. She is the younger sister of a previous character from Claiming Grace and works with the Anderson brothers at their agency. She is from a family of privilege and has been taken advantage of her generosity in her past. When her assignment going undercover to infiltrate a Denver gang puts her in serious danger, Blake realizes how much he feels for this sweet young woman. You do not have to read Claiming Grace to enjoy Claiming Alexis but you will enjoy this series so much more if you do because you get the whole backstory. The problem with Susan Stoker books is that they are like M&M's, you will not want to stop with just one! Enjoy!

These books were good reads. The only thing that got me was how quickly the main characters became involved. There was barely any build up. No "Yay" moment when they get past their doubts or self-struggle and acted on their feelings. The story line was wonderful though. Plenty of action and suspense.

Thank you for another great story. I love the relationship between Blake and Alexis. Alexis is a tough, caring woman determined to find people that like her for her not her parents money. Blake is a great investigator, good brother and loves Alexis for who she is. As always this book has romance, action and suspense. I am very excited to read Nathan and Bailey's story next.

What Lex had to go through was so horrible but that she came out the otherside with her man made it all ok.

The beginning of the book was good, the story line is great. Three men (triplets) now grown men explain how there life was with an abusive mother and how it is now. I don't consider myself a prude, but Ms. Stoker got very detailed and specific. Instead of talking about a sex scene in a few lines or a paragraph and leave the rest to the imagination, she took several chapters. If this is the kind of book you like, then its for you. If not, I would wait till it get's reduced to .99, or free. It's a cute story worth reading, just to much detail.

Logan, Blake and Nathan Anderson (triplets), and their dad, were physically abused by their mom growing up. When they turned 18, they all left, never looking back. They spoke every few months to their dad, but never once returned to town. Until their mother killed their dad then committed suicide. The three of them returned for their dad’s funeral and decided to start a security firm for abuse victims, specializing in male victims, in their hometown.
Alexis comes from money. She’s been used frequently by people who want some of that money. She covers her hurt feelings by being sassy, outspoken and maintaining a wall around herself. Underneath she has a big heart and a desire to be liked and loved for herself, not her family’s money. She has been attracted from day one to Blake, but since she is more “Marilyn Monroe than Kate Moss,” she never dreams it could ever be reciprocated. Alexis is Bradford’s sister from book one. She wants to continue working to find a way to bring the Inca Boyz down. She has no experience doing this, so she has been paired with Blake to learn the business.
Blake has been working with Alexis for months but hasn’t looked twice at her until he notices her fascination with his forearms. Her eyes dilate when he flexes them. Rolling my eyes, to each their own I guess. Then suddenly he realizes he hasn’t dated anyone since he met her and how awesome she is and he can’t wait to get behind that wall she surrounds herself with.
Alexis goes undercover, connecting with an old friend from grade school, to try to gather intel on the gang that blackmailed her brother and hurt Logan’s wife, Grace.
Nathan’s story is next. It’s set up in the last part of this book and you can already predict the storyline. I’m not invested in this series at all, or impressed with the writing style and won’t be looking for the next book.
SPOILER ALERT!
I had a problem with the sex scenes. She learned how to touch herself, use toys for self-fulfillment yet he had to tell her it was a give and take and that she could explore him too? And he takes her over the edge into orgasm by having her watch him flex his forearms? It all just seemed a little juvenile. It’s not good when I roll my eyes during love scenes.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by NetGalley and the publisher.

Claiming Alexis is book 2 in the Ace Security series by Susan Stoker and this is another 5 star read for me.
Blake Anderson in the middle brother of triplets, Blake has always felt like it was his job to take care of his brothers from the beatings dealt out by their violent mother. When the brothers decided to move back to the town where they grew up they weren't expecting a warm welcome especially from the local gossips, but they opened a security firm specialising in abuse cases more importantly for the men who never get the help that they should and that set the gossips off more. It was when helping out his brother's now wife that Blake met Alexis.
Alexis Grant is 25 years old and has moved jobs a lot since she left college but it was when her brother was kidnapped by a local gang that Alexis met the Anderson brothers and wanted to help them get justice for her brother. Alexis' family are rich and that's caused her a lot of pain growing up, not knowing who was really her friend, but when she finds out that someone from her past has a connection to the gang they're after she uses that to go undercover to help.
When you read a Susan Stoker book you are always guaranteed 4 things: 1:A true alpha male who would do anything to protect his loved ones. 2: A kick ass heroine who is tough as nails and doesn't sit back waiting to be rescued. 3: A story that will have you on the edge of your seat. Most importantly 4: A unique storyline that always leaves you craving more, more of these characters and just more books in general. I am truly a huge fan of this woman's writing.

Alexis been working with Ace Security since she helped them solved a problem involving her brother and Logan’s now-wife. She’s mostly worked in pair with Blake, one of Anderson triplet. She’s been in love with Blake from the start, yet Blake had reservations toward her. Fast forward few months, they’ve became close friend. Well, they thought so. When Alexis put herself in danger by trying to take down part of a gang, Blake realised his feeling was much more than just friends.
This was a good story. There’s almost no mystery, but the suspense was so high up it kept me at the edge of my seat. The romance, although not overly romantic, was sweet and heartfelt. I loved both characters. Alexis was a sassy girl who felt insecure inside. She really wanted to be seen as herself, made something for herself and made world a better place. While Blake was a sweet alpha male that really knew how to treat a girl right. He’s not shy away from his feeling, and he stick to it. I extremely LOVED consistent and decisive people.
We got to meet more of Nathan as well, the other Anderson triplet. The quietest, but I believe would have the most interesting personality. We also meet the heroine in the next book, and she sure was intriguing.
I definitely will recommend this book to all RS genre lovers, and I can’t wait for the next book (and I think the last) in the series, Claiming Bailey.
I was provided a complementary copy by the author / publisher, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.

Blake and Alexis work at Ace Securities and are trying to figure out how they can get information on the Inca Boys gang. Since saving Grace, the Anderson brothers have been trying to stop the gang from wrecking any other lives. While Alexis had feeling for Blake right away, it took Blake a little longer to figure out that he really liked Alexis.
Wow, Alexis is much braver than I would be to go into a bar with known gang members to try and get information. There was so much action and drama in this story that I could hardly put it down until I finished it! I like when a book not only has great romance but has a great story with a bit of a mystery thrown in!
There was such emotion throughout this book, we can see the love that the brother have for each other, the love that is growing between Alexis and Blake, the pain that Alexis endures after her ordeal, and the pain she feels when she remembers that people have used her for money her whole life.
It is not necessary to have read Claiming Grace, but it is fun to read them together as the story flows so well between books. The set up for Claiming Bailey was great – kind of can figure out how Nathan will meet Bailey but will he realize who she is? I am really looking forward to reading Nathan and Bailey’s story. Susan Stoker is one of my favorite authors and I look for her new releases, and I can honestly say that I have enjoyed all of her books, and there is not one that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend as a great read.
