Mr. Control (Misters Book 1)

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC. Such a wonderful book, amazing storyline, and characters to fall in love with. Mel and Rhys are a couple to root for from the very beginning. Although Mel is from the wrong side of the tracks and Rhys is a billionaire their attraction cannot be ignored. Add in the most adorable child ever (Esme) and this book will have you laughing to crying with the turn of each page. There is also a lesson to be learned here but you'll have to read this to figure what it is.

I read this book as part of a arc in exchange for a honest review. I found this book a nice slow burn with mild steamy scenes. I pictured more of a insta love speed read but it was a nice change. I would have love more hotness but you can’t have everything very time. I found it well paced and I liked the fact that it was heavier than I expected as this kept me turning pages. I was expecting more of a dark character with Rhys but aside of him loosing his temper a couple of time no real darkness.

I loved the premise of this story. It was well written, the plot developed well, there were not a lot of grammatical/punctuation errors, and characters were well developed; all major points I look for in a good book. Both characters come from conflicted backgrounds. I went through a range of emotions as a result. I really enjoyed Mr. Control, and am glad I took the opportunity to read it. This was an intense emotional passionate book with Rhys and Melanie wronged their whole life just trying to face day by day and lets say fate brought them together and just going through the motions and the same experiences drew them toward each other.Esme Rhys little girl had a big impact on their life and I loved how she was there through the whole story.The words just flowed so easy and it was so enjoyable to read I loved it.I voluntarily read a readers copy of this book

Mr. Control by Maya Hughes is the story of Mel and Rhys.
Wow...I really loved this story! Mel is a hard working but down on her luck but then she happens upon a little girl named Esme. Mel tries to help locate her parents and but doesn't have to much luck so she takes her to the dinner she is working at. Mel soon learns Esme father is a well off single man named Rhys, who does like to take no for an answer. I will be looking for more books by this author!

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed this book. It was an unexpected treat. While Mel’s struggles were interesting and she seemed to have quite a bit of bad luck, her luck seemed to changed when she met Esme. I enjoyed reading about the relationship between Esme and Mel and the undeniable attraction between Esme’s dad, Rhys, and Mel. Throw in a bunch of drama and you have a can’t put down read.

Well, this was a story filled with anguish, from one child witnessing her mother die, another being sent from social services back to a horrible and abusive mother, and another being ignored by parents. However these three formed a family of love, hope and acceptance. It is that aspect which in my opinion made this a great story. Maya Hughes pulled this all into a story I won't soon forget.

This story is a tear jerker, had me hooked, it had substance, lovable characters, unexpected discoveries, passionately explosive and utterly wonderful. My first by Maya and I look forward to reading more of her books.

This book takes you on a journey between two very unlikely lovers. Mel is a down on her luck diner waitress and Rhys is a billionaire philanthropist with a young daughter Esme. And a chance meeting between Mel and Esme will start an epic love story. This story is full of mystery, pain and lots of love. It’s a bit of a rollercoaster but u won’t want to get off.

i have so much money but it cant buy what i want most. my daughter hasnt spoken since hoe mother died. then she goes missing and im beside myself with worry until i find her safe with a waitress. but i was in for ever a bigger shock when my precious girls utters 2 words, thank you. in that moment i needed the waitress in our lives. such a wonderful story which shows money is not everything and you will enjoy this so much even though you will have tears in parts

Rhys is a sexy billionaire and single dad, and when his cute little girl Esme goes missing, he is frantic, until she is found with a waitress called Melanie. Rhys and Melanie have both suffered from unfortunate pasts, and the chemistry between them is off the charts. This is a beautifully written storyline, and with such depth that this story really pulls at the heartstrings, and had me hooked and captivated throughout.

Maya Hughes did a great job on this story. Mr. Control was a great story. The story was filled with emotion. Mel, Rhys and Esme were great characters. Even after the life Mel had, she's a great person. She was wonderful with Esme, Rhys' daughter. These three make a great family. I enjoyed the connection and the chemistry Mel and Rhys had, it was sweet and sexy. They were perfect together. I enjoyed this book. Thank you, Mays Hughes. Great work :)

I loved this book. Both heart warming and a tear jerker. Both Rhys and Mel had terrible childhoods. One rich and one poor, but both with awful, awful parents. Lots and lots of mental abuse. I lliked them both right away and can certainly understand why they were drawn to each other. The author did a wonderful job in revealing their backgrounds slowly while their relationship evolved. Fascinating! The HEA was worth waiting for.

Mr Control is a great 4 star read that you will really want to sink your teeth into.
I have spent the evening with Rhys,Mel and Esme and I'm pleasantly surprised as it's so much different to what I expected.
It's got hidden depth to an already great concept.
I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend you one click this book as soon as you can.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. This is the first book that I have read by Maya Hughes. I wasn't disappointed in this book. It is a great book. I was hooked from the beginning of the book. It had my emotions all over the place. Two who had a hard time growing up. I think that make it more real. That I can see happening in real life. I can't wait to read more books by Hughes. I will recommend this book.

Was an interesting book but not the best in my opinion. I loved the characters for the most incredible part, Esme is such a sweet little girl. The book is a bit slower than the blurb leads you on to believe. I thought that this was going to be fast paced, but we don’t see anything really til after the half way mark. Overall it was a good book.

Loved this book although the extended epilogue seemed not to follow on directly from the book. Perhaps I time warped! Interesting well written story. The sexual tension increased to steamy between the main characters. The story line itself is well documented in previous reviews but I found it a compelling read & can highly recommend. Have to get more of Maya Hughes books.

Not a bad story. I adored Esme from the beginning. The relationship between Mel and Rhys is ok. There really isn't much character development and the dynamic between the 2 wasn't as developed either. There were moments where I questioned Mel's intelligence. The beginning of the book just started off weird, but it was ok overall.

This was quite a good book, the storyline was good but the chemistry heat level between Rhys and Melanie was a little on the low side. The connection between Melanie and Esme was a nice one. I liked Melanie but thought that Rhys had quite a few faults. Overall an OK read.

This book is well written and so worth a read.who hasn't wondered what happens to the children who fall through the cracks. A Cinderella story with love,faith and the selfless love of a child. This book shows the struggle of an addict and how it ripples down in a family. The inner strength of a child who believes in love. And a millionaire and a waitress unlikely but so magical.

This Mel had both had hard upbringing. Mel worked in a diner but couldn't make ends meet. She meets Rhys when he comes to the diner to get his runaway daughter Esme. Esme takes to Mel & Rhys is impressed & taken back by it as Esme hasn't talked to people for three years. I enjoyed this book. Thanks.

Rhys could be so sweet, “relax,” he whispered, tickling my ear with his warm minty breath. “I would tell you they’re not looking at you, that they’re looking at me, but I know with you in that dress they are definitely looking at you,” I liked this book, Rhys was one controlling man, he needed things a specific way and in walks Mel who flips it upside down, she was so good for him.

this book was amazing! another great book of yours i read. its about a single dad who will do everything to protect his daughter. she wanders off only to have a waitress find her and bring her to the diner. he finds his daughter talking to this woman who has only every talked to him. shocked he hires her as his nanny. you will have to read this book to find out what happens.

Melanie is having a craptastic day and it gets even worse when she is fired from her job. Only good thing to come from her day is she met the hot and uber rich Rhys and his daughter Esme. Rhys is instantly attracted to Melanie, but he needs to keep her around for his daughter. When real feelings cause hurts, they both have to realize what they want for their futures.

Oh my goodness. What an emotional story. Mel works at s diner when Rhys' daughter finds her. After Rhys finds her, he can't believe what a change his daughter is around her. Things get pretty hot and heavy but both have pasts and both have to learn to over come their demons. Great story absolutely recommend.

This is a emotional read with a sweet little girl and the waitress who gets her speaking after her mothers death, and the dark brooding father wanting the best for his daughter. With well thought out characters and a storyline that will keep your attention this is a good read .

This one just didn’t live up to the hype. Storyline was good —but not great. The characters were okay, but could have been a bit more developed. Just seemed like something was missing. Rhys was just annoying, while Melanie was just bland. To be honest, the HEA was just meh. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and was disappointed.)

I really liked this quick steamy romance. The ending was a bit abrupt and I wish we got more of a conversation between Rhys and Mel when they got back together. She had legitimate concerns that, in my opinion, were never addressed. It was still a good story though. I'm looking forward to Killian and Rachel's story next. Read with KU.

A sweet, little drama romance that will keep you entertained. Felt that the ending was a bit rushed and that some questions were left hanging for me. And for some reason I think that Rhys didn't live up to his 'dark hero persona'. But all in all a good read

Mr. Control by Maya Hughes is a good read. This sometimes sweet, sometimes tender, emotional read is entertaining and engaging. Touching story of a wounded father and daughter that discover hope when they meet a wounded waitress. Can all three heal and get a HEA? Grab a copy to see. One emotional ride between two people dealing with the hard knocks of life. Mel the girl from the wrong side of the tracks meets with the little girl who has no. words in the beginning but soon opens up to her. Rhys is a single dad with trust issues. The chemistry between these to is a tangled web where each fights their feelings for the other.

Great storyline and character development made this book a hot and enjoyable read!

All they ever wanted was someone to call their own. Melanie and Rhys are from two different worlds, but his daughter Esme brings them together and what happens when they do to epic. Seriously enjoyed this story of the billionaire and the waitress, a most definite page turner that will keep you reading well into the the night.

Grabbed this book when I was browsing around for something to read. Truthfully I wasn't expecting much, so I was really surprised when I started to read it. It's a fast read and I enjoyed it very much. I would love to read a second book, there was a few issues that needed some closure but in all I liked the book.

This was a very enjoyable but emotional read! I enjoyed Mel and Rhys story a lot it was a roller coaster read that was well written. Both dealing with past pains and both feeling a sense of protection for little Esme. It was a beautiful story.

This was a slow burn/build up read that was well written. The characters were well written and developed. The plot was good - the sex scenes mild and a few loose ends were left. Mel and Rhys have good chemistry. Overall a good read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I received an ARC, and am voluntarily leaving this review. This is a really good book. It gets your emotions involved, and has a lot of heart in it. The story was well written and the characters was great. I highly recommend this one, you won't be able to put this one down.

Each main character had redeeming qualities, especially Esme who was my absolute favorite. The writer really blew life into the sweet, resilient little girl, and she became so real and you can't help but love her. Rhys and Mel got on my nerves with the hot and cold personalities, along with the horrendous potty mouths! Apparently intelligence is not needed when you have a boatload of money. Still their loyalty and love for Esme was very commendable and heartwarming. Many, many, many spelling and grammatical errors littered this work, to the point of embarrassment - is there an editor present? And that phrase, "more money than God," is neither accurate nor awe-inspiring. It's actually rather insulting. All in all this proved to be a little less than entertaining. I'm glad that it all worked out in the end though, and most importantly, that they got married. Oh and Derek....love him!!!
BTW, really wish that poetic justice had been done to Jeanine and Roy. Just saying.

It could have been better, but it was well written. The author did a good job with character development and storyline. My main issue was the main characters lack of consistency in his expression of interest in Melanie, to hot and cold for too long for my taste.

I loved Esme! Rhys was a d*ck and I did not see why Mel liked him! Mel’s background was weird too... no real explanation of what happen after she ran away from home.

One man, who has a daughter and huge obligations meets Melanie. She has a tough past and huge problems and isn't looking for anything beyond survival. Together they help each other to overcome, survive and they become a family and find their happily ever after

It was nice book to relax with. Especially like the part with child, she is so sweet. Mr. Control is kind of lost but this is understandable looking at his past. I’m giving him credit. Happy ending with some hick up.

I received this arc free of charge. Wow, I thought this was going to be a lot lighter than it was. This was an emotional read. The characters are well rounded in the writing. Get this but don’t expect light and airy!

So many themes run through this book. The most prevalent is that of family, no matter how that family is comprised. The second most important is that of trust and the need for that in any relationship if it is to succeed.

Sounded cute, but had to DNF when the poor billionaire threatens to spank the chick he's met twice because she would rather spend the night at a women's shelter than with someone she doesn't know and does creepy things like ...threatening to spank her.

I absolutely loved this book. I do wish however they would have included the wedding rather then mention it in passing and would have answered weather or not she got pregnant. Other than that I loved it.
