Thanks to A & E, I have discovered Longmire. The only complaint I have about "Divorce Horse" is that it is too short! I've kept the store busy as I devoured the whole series by Craig Johnson; please let there be another book soon! The hero is a terriffic mix of intelligence, integrity, humor, and strength. That he is also a modest man whose best friend is a Native American exspecial-ops shaman/tavern keeper, whose daughter went back East to become a lawyer, and whose young female deputy is a contentious, take-no-prisoners transplant from New Jersey provides for a unique comination of culture, gender, and generation clash. In true Longmire fashion, the personal and professional responsibilities collide in a mix of humor and mystery, with a surprise ending. Read his stories and you'll be hooked, waiting for the next Craig Johnson book, right behind me!

ONLY ONE CHAPTER!!! This is a teaser which leaves you wanting more. It starts out with the Sheriff, his daughter and Running Bear going to a rodeo to find a missing horse which the owner claimed was stolen. They found it. THE END! There was no explanation of why or who stole it. I EXPECTED MORE STORY! ONLY ONE CHAPTER,! The author can do better.
Then it continues with a preview of "THE COLD DISH"

I have purchased most all the books in the Longmire collection over the past several months. This selection is a blatant rip off in my opinion. Hardly any story. Very few pages. No point except to make the author money. I am pretty angry that he would do that to loyal readers. He should be ashamed. As a native Wyoming resident I put him in the category reserved for the exploitative transplants.

Love this character. Even though Mr. Johnson writes within a clear mystery format, it does not distract from the book. Definitely worth picking up. This is in a series and if you can, start at the beginning. But if you don't, this book still stands on its own. Enjoy...

Craig Johnson, one of my favorite authors, what were you thinking?? This "book" is too short, incomplete, start without end. Where were you going?, if you knew, you forgot to tell your readers. And why only on Kindle? Considering his other works of art this was a complete disappointment. If I could give a minus stars this would be it.

Not sure about this one. First it started with a short story about a rodeo rider and a horse that he was fighting over with his soon to be ex. Then it went into choosing a place for Cady's wedding and ended shortly after some women fell off a cliff. What gives here Craig?
