I enjoyed this book very much. The story was great, it had it all, mystery, ghosts, humor, romance, more ghosts, history and more ghosts. Great read and will be starting the 2nd book to see where the Bone Island Trilogy leads me.

Heather Graham is getting into the paranormal and doing it very well indeed. I have been reading her books under all her AKA's for almost twenty years and have very seldom been less than enthused. I did get to meet her at a convention many years ago and was even more impressed.

The characters and story line are easily followed and understood. There were sub-stories but they were not distracting enough to lose the main plot lines and story. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the trilogy.

I have never read Heather Graham before but saw the first two books in this trilogy and picked them up. I really should have started with just one and saved the$$. I think I knew who the murderer was in the first one about four chapters in. I still read the second book and again the plot was obvious and just slung together. I don't think this is a writer for my taste. I like a mystery with more substance less fluff.
Book 2) by Terry Brooks (1983-12-12) - The Elfstones of Shannara (Shannara :: The Elfstones of Shannara :: Armageddon's Children (Genesis Of Shannara Book 1) :: Playing a Player :: Until I Find You

Took an afternoon to read this book. Plot was pretty interesting with lots of historical facts. Use of humor, surprise, and suspense were evenly mixed with the characters pretty well drawn out. Not one I will read over and over, but definitely good for a plane flight or day at the beach.

One caveat - some steamy scenes... I would say 17+...

All the best,

Jay

Poorly written. No character development. Transitions between conversations/places/people were nonexistent. Main character returns after 10 years and instantly worried about the female main character's well being - who has been fine without him for those 10 years AND he doesn't even know her except she is a sister of a friend. Oh but wait, after 2 days of knowing each other, they sleep together. Couldn't will myself to finish.

I loved this book and the author. Heather Graham is one of my favorite authors. I read one of her books called Blood Red another great book. I just got finished with reading Night Moves...another great book. I could not put it down.
I would advise of reading all the books to come in The Bone Trilogy.

I love the realtonship between Kate and David. I love Bartholomew..He really made me laugh whenever he followed Kate. I Ghost Shadow you think you know who did it and then are very surprised who did it...at least I was thinking it was Tanya's brother...

Katie sees ghosts, she has a family ghost named bartholomew that is a privateer ( pirate) and she is also getting caught in a deep mystery. Years ago a beautiful young lady is murdered and left at a museum posed. David's family owned the museum and was engaged to the beauty.
Tanya was going to run off with a football jock instead of marry David and for a while it looked like maybe david was the one that killed Tanya... but he was cleared and he left the island.
10 years pass and he comes back, and finds out that his cousin was going to sell the museum to Katie O'Hara,
David is not pleased, but then body after body start piling up.. who is killing off the islands' people? Why after all this time it is starting again??
The good points in the book are the humour and the mystery. I love Katie and the ghost, the plot is good and the people rich in their descriptions..
The Bad: Katie and Davids' relationship takes off boom with almost no warning.. first they are at eachothers throats over the museum then they are in bed... kinda blech to me..
but over all a great book.
