”G**** fell in love with mortals and demolished them piece-by-piece. I had been fighting against the electric pull between us, but I was becoming hungry for more of him.”

How does one even begin to comprehend the magnitude of this author’s ability to create a world SO beyond addicting in the short pages of what people normally would think is a simple novella? NO. ONE. CAN. TOUCH. THIS. AUTHOR! No one! R. Scarlett is THE MOST underrated author I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading! Filthy G*** is just this PHENOMENAL piece of art that will legit grab anyone and everyone’s attention simply because it is the perfect definition of a RAW and GRITTY contemporary romance of a group G*** that have the MONEY, FAME, and WILLPOWER to make us all fall to our knees!

GAH I just CAN NOT GET OVER IT!

I can’t tell you how many times I was beside myself reading this novella. LITERALLY crawling out of my skin by the time I was 20% in and I just 100% gave myself over to the world of the American G*** and R. Scarlett’s writing. I never came back from it and I never will. H***, I don’t want to come back from it!

Nathaniel and Juliette are just EVERYTHING! Their story may be short, but D*** is it powerful and ruthless as h***!! Filthy G*** will always be one for the books and it was more than an epic start to a new contemporary romance series that WILL. CHANGE. THE. GAME!

If you think R. Scarlett was the queen of PNR, just you wait. There’s something to be said about an author who gives it her all with a new genre and straight up M****** the game with not only her writing style, but her impeccable keen eye for the contemporary romance world!

Filthy G*** was more than a story. And the American G*** Series will be a series no one sees coming.

In this modern 'Cinderella' takeoff - strong, intelligent, determined, but poor Julliette has to fight for everything she wants in her life, future, and education. Rich, intelligent, and just as driven, Nathaniel has wanted Julliette from the moment he sees her at Yale, and sets out to win her attention and later her heart. This is a story about a strong alpha hero and his drive to win her at almost all costs.

The only con and the reason for 4 stars is because of their ages- 20 + 21? I had to keep convincing myself that maybe because of their backgrounds and how hard they were, that they might've grown up a little faster, and might act this maturely at those ages. But even though I tend to avoid all the drama of NA books- this wasn't that- and I definitely would like to read more of this series and find out more about the other guys in 'The Secret Club'. Very good.

5 "Semper Fidelis" Stars!

"You are a god, Nathaniel Radcliffe.
A filthy God".

Gosssh this novella was what I needed and beyond. After read a book that had me so emotional this was a balm for my heart. I read it in one sitting.

I think this author will never cease to amaze me. I've followed her work with paranormal romance but she has proved that she can writes anything and I'll undoubtedly read whatever she writes.
This story is a fantastic start and intro to American Gods. It was extremely sexy, with scorching hot scenes and a fluent writing that hooked me up.

Filthy Gods is a world full of secrets, lies, half truths, money and power. This story did fun things in my belly. I wanted more! If a novella has me so excited, I can't wait for the following books (they should be amazing).

I'm really looking forward for more and highly recommended this author. One. Click. (Is all it takes)
Changeling's Fealty (Changeling Blood Book 1) :: Dear God: Hear My Prayer :: and the Making of a Nation - the Founding Fathers :: A Journey into the Soul of the Lone Star State - God Save Texas :: Talking God (A Leaphorn and Chee Novel Book 9)

This book deserves so much more than 5 stars! This is a prequel to R. Scarlett's American Gods series and can I just say that I've been drooling over this book since I received it on my Kindle!! I had to read it about 4 more times because I couldn't get enough.

This was the perfect enemies to lovers story filled with so many hot and tension scenes. Juliette Monroe is a Yale Law student working as maid in a country club to help pay for school. She never expects to see her enemy, Nathaniel Radcliffe. A Filthy god, one Juliette has been competing with for three years while in law school. The story was filled with enough heated tension and challenges that made me jump into the pages of this book. The writing was just magnificent and the ending was one I was crying over because I didn't want Juliette & Nathaniel's story to end. I cannot wait for more glimpses into their life during the American Gods series!

Filthy Gods was a quick and entertaining beginning to a new series. I instantly connected with both Nathaniel and Juliette and their forbidden attraction. As the only son of a wealthy and influential family, Juliette is not on his family’s radar as someone in Nathaniel’s future.

The book introduces readers to Nathaniel and Juliette and the young men known as the American Gods. Nathaniel and his friends were labelled as American Gods early on in their teenage years. It was an acknowledgement of their potential clout. They were the triple threats, wealthy, good-looking and powerful. Their strength lay in more than their good gene pool with their loyalty and honor that strengthened their bond creating a substantially united force.

Competitiveness to succeed drew Nathaniel and Juliette together but it was vastly different upbringings which kept them apart. That was until they crossed paths during summer break at the Country Club Juliette worked at. With her financial struggles revealed to Nathaniel, they were no longer equals and Juliette found herself at the mercy of Nathaniel’s discretion. One word from him had the capacity of blowing the misconception she was just another wealthy student who happened to be academically talented.

I enjoyed their summer romance which quickly morphed from an uneven playing field into a hot combination of equally matched minds working each other out of their systems. Well, that was the plan but of course hearts and minds are known to work independently of the other.

It was as their summer break was coming to an end and college resumed that the cracks in their plans began to surface. This brought out aspects not uncommon in an NA setting but it frustrated me a tad. The problems they encountered were resolved quickly, resonating more like a superhero story rather than a romance. But these moments were minor and it didn’t impede my overall enjoyment of the story.

While I need another series to follow like a hole in the head, I am delighted I listened to the hype around American Gods. I will be looking out for the next book in the series to see what the gods have in store for us next!

R. Scarlett is certainly making a name for herself in the romance world with her Paranormal reads that even attracted my attention. I used to be a huge reader of this genre but over time I have mostly switched to reading more realistic romances. That said, I did purchase Scarlett’s When Sinner’s Kneel because I was very drawn to the blurb and wanted to see for myself what others were so captivated by. I hadn’t had the chance to read it yet when I received the opportunity to read Filthy Gods, R. Scarlett’s debut contemporary romance and I am not going to lie, I jumped through HOOPS to get my hands on this book. And I am stunned and truly wowed by just how great this novella was.

I said I wasn’t a fan of Paranormal romance these days, but with the romance world abuzz with R. Scarlett’s name, I would have scumbled to the inevitable and read Scarlett’s work at some point because I was hearing too much good stuff about her. That said, I was completely new to her writing when I got ahold of Filthy Gods. I knew going in I was also going to be reading a novella, and I want to be clear…I am not really a fan of novellas as a rule, but I find exceptions to this all the time. And let me tell you, this book… Filthy Gods, is ABSOLUTELY an exception!!! The story is well written. The characters are fun and the chemistry between them is off. the. charts. HAWT!!! And by hawt, I do mean you will need new batteries in your favorite BOB after reading this book because no cold shower in the world…no change of panties, is going to suffice ladies ?

Filthy Gods is the introduction to a new series called American Gods and while the story is a quick read, I was completely unprepared for how much ‘story’ one novella could offer readers. Filthy Gods offered more in content than many full-length books by other authors. Somehow, while reading it I was able to completely forget that it was supposed to be a novella. Instead, I got lost in R. Scarlett’s world and couldn’t put down the book. Additionally, because of the content offered regarding the “American Gods” R. Scarlett will strike marketing gold! Filthy Gods sets up an instant audience of readers who are going to be dying to get their hands on the next three books and let’s face it, that’s genius! I am personally planning to social media stalk R. Scarlett incessantly. I am unsure of when the next release date is for this series, but I am completely jonesing for more of the American God’s and hope that it’s in the very near future!

Filthy Gods is the prequel to the brand new series, American Gods, by R. Scarlett. Wow, what a start into this new series. R. Scarlett has proven that she can make the transition from paranormal romance to contemporary seamlessly. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this new series and am now most definitely hooked. I can safely say that I will follow this author anywhere!

Juliette Monroe is not the typical Yale Law Student. She is not rich, nor even well off. Being raised in the foster care system, she is there on scholarship. But she keeps this fact hidden. She has to work to be able to stay in school so during the year she works at the school library The summer between her junior and senior year, though, she has gotten a job working at the prestigious Hawthorne Country Club.

Juliette was sure that she would be safe working at the country club this summer. She researched it. But then she saw HIM. The bane of her existence. Her fiercest competitor for the top group of students and the man that seems to take great pleasure in making her life miserable.

“His golden words. His mind had aroused mine even before his body had.”

Nathaniel Radcliffe was one of the most powerful men at Yale, one of the American Gods. These young men were rich and pampered, never wanting for anything. Together they were feared. For three years he had watched Juliette, wanted her, fought with her, debated her in class. She was a distraction, never far from his thoughts. And here she was at the country club for an entire summer. He saw the opportunity and he was going to take it. He would make her a deal, a way to rid themselves of this distraction once and for all. For the summer, she would be his.

“A deal with the enemy.”

Nathaniel and Juliette enter into a summer only fling. Saying that it was hot would be a gross understatement. These two were explosive together. Juliette has to keep reminding herself that there are no feelings here, that this is a summer thing. As the summer progresses, though, this becomes harder and harder to remember.

“He never let others control him. He never let others dictate his time or presence He was steel and iron. Forged and unbreakable. I felt like delicate glass in his powerful hands.”

So, WOW, as I already said. I think that even more than I loved Nathaniel and Juliette together, I loved the premise of the American Gods. These young men who together, wield so much power. There is so much to be learned about his three friends and I can’t wait to find out, to get to know their stories. Rebecca, you have definitely gotten me, hook, line and sinker. I can’t wait for more and I need it now!!!

“Semper fidelis.
Always faithful. Always loyal.”

Gods fell in love with mortals and demolished them piece-by-piece. I had been fighting against the electric pull between us.

‘FILTHY GODS:’ Is the prequel to R. Scarletts brand spanking new series ‘American Gods #0.5’ In this we meet our Heroine ‘Juliette Monroe’ and our Hero ‘Nathaniel Radcliffe the third’

Twenty one year old Nathaniel was truly born with a silver spoon in his mouth, the superior golden boy, friends of the elite American Gods which consisted of three men (James, Gabe and Arsen) no one messed with this group, the untouchables, power bled from them, sex appeal oozed from them. These three men along with Nathaniel ruled Yale with an iron fist, ruling over campus with their secret society.

With a body sculpted by the gods themselves, is Juliette going to be well over her head or has he met his match in every way??
Juliette: Unlike Nathaniel, Juliette didn’t come from a wealthy family, being raised within the foster care system she’d been moved from foster home to foster home, she strived to make a better life for herself. No one knew at school that she didn’t have a dime to rub together, she was there riding on a well deserved scholarship.

For three years these two have been at logger heads against each other, trying to always outdo the other, both competitive to a fault. Both were majoring in law and strived to be at the top.

Nathaniel's family owned the ‘Hawthorn Country Club’ the exact place where Juliette worked as a maid. The families of the rich and famous flocked to this very establishment. She despised him with a vengeance, his cocky, arrogant ways forever rubbed her up the wrong way.

Until he comes up with a cunning plan, just for the summer they will leave their inhibitions at the door and have a fling, to rid themselves of the distraction the other brings to then focus on their careers after the summer.

I completely fell under this authors spell when I was introduced to 'When sinners Kneel' which became one of my first favourite books this year but what blew me away even more was the transition that appeared so effortless jumping from what she would normally bring us in terms of her paranormal reads to her first time within the contemporary Romance genre, it just goes to show that she is a force to be reckoned with because this book was truly a masterpiece of a talented writer and I amongst all the others can not wait to see what else she brings us with this series.

I love unexpected surprises in discovering new books. This novella from new, contemporary author R. Scarlett checked all the best reading boxes making me excited about the promise of the upcoming American Gods series. For a debut author in this genre with a novella to boot I can't recommend this edgy, slightly taboo, enemies-to-lovers romance enough. From the start I was engaged with the characters and felt a visceral connection to the intense tension between them. Nathaniel Radcliffe and Juliette Monroe want to conquer the world and as it turns out, each other. R. Scarlett's unique story telling and intriguing setting make for great romance.

Told from the heroine's first person point of view, Filthy Gods introduces Nathaniel Radcliffe. Born into a life of vast wealth and privilege Nathaniel rules Yale's campus not only socially but intellectually. He's the bane of Juliette Monroe's existence, a girl whose struggles and steadfast determination and hard work for everything she has, make her a challenge unlike any Nathaniel has ever encountered. Juliette is a Cinderella-esque story and when she comes face to face with Nathaniel during summer break a distant God becomes something a little bit more unraveling piece by piece secrets they never knew they were keeping from each other. Both tough as nails, whip smart, and beyond motivated, Nathaniel and Juliette are equals that Juliette never realized. That realization makes for a great story.

R. Scarlett's well-crafted writing delves into the grey lines of darkness in a world so closed off to the masses. The rich and powerful are good bait for readers especially when turmoil, tragedy, and scandal make it that much more mysteriously alluring. There's also loyalty and depth to the relationships in this book and how those play out in everyday life for these characters. Scarlett never lingers on superfluous details but provides just enough to keep you fully hooked. This world of secret society's, wealth, privilege, and dark secrets she briefly touches upon in Filthy Gods holds so much promise for what's to come in this series when we get the stories of the American Gods. The way in which she crafted the American Gods in this novella with just some scintillating teases shows the depth of her writing and the promise of more edgy goodness to come. This is a great introduction for what's to come and I couldn't be more excited about it.

"Filthy Gods" By R Scarlett was a very enjoyable New-Adult romance that ticked all my boxes.
It was an easy read told from Juliette's POV and tell the story of Nathaniel and Juliette when they happen to collide one summer when on break from Yale where they both attend school.
So, Juliette takes a job as a maid at a prestigious old school country club for the summer.
unbeknown to herself Nathaniel's Mother is her new boss and after discovering Juliette working at his family's business Nathaniel offers Juliette an arrangement; he will keep her financial situation a secret but in return, he wants them both to explore the attraction further that currently sizzles between them both.
Setting in motion a summer of sneaking around and discovery between our two young lovers from opposite backgrounds.
So despite the blurb here I found this one to be quite low angst; this seemed to have more of a rom-com vibe to it than the blurb here actually suggests.
The enemy feeling here is very shortlived; especially as I get the impression it was more one-sided.
"Filthy Gods" gave the overall effect that it was Juliette with the main beef and Nathaniel was frankly a tad oblivious in my opinion to the whole thing.
He actually saw Juliette as a fantastic debate opponent and liked the fire she directed his way.
There was no animosity from his direction at all.
And that heat is not just kept to the classroom as both Juliette and Nathaniel proceed all summer to dial up the heat here by a few hundred notches.
This has very few secondary characters; mainly just relying on our main duo to hook and keep its reader.
And they do manage to do a fantastic job of that all by themselves; no aide needed here.
Despite being somewhat predictable in places I still found "Filthy Gods" to be such a positive reading experience.
I consumed this in one sitting and am happy to recommend this fun sexy story to my fellow romance readers.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of "Filthy Gods (American Gods 0.5)" of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
Wowza...this book was SO good. A fantastic start to a very intriguing new series that was very nearly perfect. The writing (as is always the case with this author) was excellent. It is a fairly short book that took me about an hour to read. It moved along at a good clip. The plot was super engaging, and the ending was sweet. Now, I said NEARLY perfect. Personally, I would have preferred this book be a full-length novel. I would have liked to have seen some of their school interactions, and the romance is a bit rushed with some time jumps that cover the Summer. I would have also liked to have seen more story from Nathan's POV. We really only get one chapter right at the end from his POV. Both those were just minor issues which only affected my rating slightly.

~HERO~
NATHANIEL...I quite liked Nathan. He was sexy. He was smart. He was sweet. He was c@cky. He was arrogant. He was all about Juliette. He was a pretty damn near perfect book boyfriend.

~HEROINE~
JULIETTE...Juliette was also a very likable character. She was smart. She was feisty. She was strong. She worked her butt off. I love how she held her own with Nathan.

~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
This one wasn't heavy on secondary characters, but we do get introductions to the other American Gods players. I think I am most intrigued by Arsen, the broody tattooed Russian.

~HEAT LEVEL~
Medium. There are some suitably spicy sex scenes in this one. It was maybe slightly tamer than I anticipated, but given its length and fast pace, it worked well within the context of this story.

~ANGST LEVEL - SEXUAL HISTORIES~
Low. I didn't find this one particularly angsty for most of the book. The drama near the end was the angstiest part. This couple had the whole "hate turned to love" thing down pat. Most of the hate happened before this book begins, so this felt very "insta" and they are a pretty solid couple from the start. There was a TINY SMIDGE of OW drama. There was no OM drama. Neither were virgins.

~IN THE END~
LOVED IT! It was almost perfect. Fantastic writing. Great plot. Likable main characters. Intriguing secondary characters. I don't have much else to say about it. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book (Gabe's). Therefore yours truly is going to give this one two solid thumbs up.

Hot, dirty, captivating and a little bit dark... this book has all the makings of a perfect hate to love story. It’s scorching and impossible to resist, I was pulled in and never left wanting. My only regret is that this wasn’t a full-length novel that I could stew in and enjoy longer but I’ll forgive the author because the promise of the series to come is just to alluring to pass up.

Nathaniel is arrogant, rude and conceited. He’s your typical entitled rich boy, demanding things he has no claim to and bulldozing everyone in his way. Well, at least that’s what he wants you to believe, the truth is that he’s an enigma. He’s a closet romantic, a protector and loyal to a fault. He fights for those he cares about and battles anyone who dares to cross his friends. He’s beyond sexy and absolutely delicious. He’s your next Book boyfriend obsession.

There isn’t a single thing not to love about Juliette. She’s strong, confident, determined and she’s had a rough life. Her perseverance is beautiful and her strong will is admirable. She’s a leading lady to look up to, someone to aspire to be. She has so much left to learn about the god like men in her life, but she takes everything in stride nonetheless. Honestly, I haven’t read a female character that was so sparky in a long time and I loved getting to know her.

I wish I could read a thousand more pages of the drama these two created. I wish R Scarlett would give us more heat, fire and passion from these two because they click to perfectly but let’s get real... I’m completely wrapped up in this world and I can’t wait to read all about the rest of the American Gods. The author has laid the perfect framework for a breakout series, she’s dropped the breadcrumbs behind each privileged sub character and spelled out the perfect amount of mystery to have even the sanest reader desperate for answers. It’s pretty amazing when a novella can inform you that an upcoming series is going to be one of your absolute favorites ever written. Yes, I’m that excited. So buckle in and enjoy the ride because soon you’ll have a new gang of rich kids to fantasize about. Hands down, this one is a must-read, grab it while it’s fresh!

Wow, R. Scarlett has done it again. She has reduced me to a pile of mess. She has emotionally wrecked me. For real. I am huge fan of her books. Like I am a full on stalker. To me, she is known for writing sexy and amazing paranormal romances. I was a bit skeptical about this series when R. Scarlett first teased about it. Her PNR books hold dear to my heart, But as usual, she has slayed me with a New Adult romance that was absolutely fabulous. Filthy Gods is freaking next level of brilliance. Filthy Gods is New Adult as its finest The enigmatic writing. The magnificent characters. The hot and spicy plot. Filthy Gods was hands down the book I could not get enough of.

Filthy Gods is a prequel to the American Gods series that focuses on a group of men with power and money. It is sexy. It is sublime. It seductive. It is perfection. Filthy Gods lit up my heart. Intriguing. Unforgettable. Raunchy. Steamy. Illuminating. Filthy Gods was a delicious enemies to lovers romance with an incredible plot of love and angst. My heart pounded with excitement. My mouth salivated. My whole body melted with desire. R. Scarlett gave me a book that wanted to get a bite out of. She is talented and creative. Her writing absolutely touches me. I am a slave to her words. Filthy Gods was such a powerful novella that sunk in slowly to my heart and embedded itself in my skin. I freaking loved it.

Nathaniel and Juliette are one steamy couple. The sexual tension. The passion. The heat. It was infectious. They absolutely sizzled. Juliette was hard working, sassy, strong and did not take anything for nobody. She was fearless and I loved that about that. I could relate to her. Nathaniel was sex on a stick perfection. I swooned hard. I drooled even more. He was the perfect a**, rich, intelligent, powerful, sexy and made my heart pump with love.

I am so excited for the next book. I feel like these American Gods are going to be death of me.

FYI, Gabe Easton is mine!!!!!!!!!

Remember these names...
They are called The American Gods and they attend Yale, they are rich, privliged and most of all powerful beyond the grasp. They are the future of this young generation and they tend to own it.
Nathaniel Radcliffe is one of the four mentioned "Gods" and he had his eyes set on Juliette Monroe , a girl who is anything BUT rich, privliged or spoiled, she 's the most honest, hard-working, smart, witty and passionate young woman who wants to succeed in this world. She wants to have the security and power in knowledge and she regrets nothing...BUT her poverty. And even that she owns.
Her nemesis, her Yale colleage and adversary in Law debate classess, Nathan, the "God" that happens to find himslef right in her path, as she's working for the summer before their last year starts...and there's a horrid posibility he could uncover her secret, that she's not one of the rich kids, that she's there on the schoolarship and her image would be shaken and looked upon as the poor and unworthy...BUT for Nathan this is a once in a lifetime chance...and he makes her a deal. He'll keep her secret and in exchange they will get rid of each other distracting pent up tension during the summer...
"Gods fell in love with mortal and demolished them piece-by-piece."
as if that is so simple as it sounds...

and this is just a prequel...a prelude...a novella, for such a short and limited amount of pages R Scarlett brings out the guns in full blast...Hands down, she is one of the rare authors in my humble opinion who can effortlessly write the captivating, pent up tension, from the slow build up towards the fireworks and she owns me every time...
Even though, this storyline is somewhat closer to the "sweeter and heart-warming" tone, I effin loved it, loved the before mention tension and passion that just overtook every atom in my heightened sense whirlpool.
I really can't wait to read more about these Gods...

SAY WHAAAAAAA?!!

Ok on a serious note, why the **** haven’t I read anything from this author before? I truly felt like I was missing out on something so dangerously good and after finishing this book, I’m dying for a next hit!!My body is craving the words that only I know this author can deliver and I can practically taste the ecstasy that is going to come in part 2. Filthy Gods has lived up to the hype and I can only imagine what the next book is going to do to us.

Money, power, good looks, and having the world at your finger tips is what Nathaniel Radcliffe has. With a face that would make you do questionable things and a smile that is to die for, Nathaniel has it all and he didn’t even have to work that hard for it. But getting the untouchable Juliette Monroe to give up herself for one summer with no strings attached? That is going to be the start of something that neither one of them ever anticipated.

Juliette has always had to work extra hard when it came to her education. Competing with the god himself for the past three years in everything besides a pissing contest, trying to stay invisible for the summer and keep her down will be a thing of the past for the Summer. For the next two months, two rivalries will put everything aside to enjoy the guilty pleasures of having each other. What’s the worse that could happen?

I’m still so genuinely shocked about how good this story was!!! This exceeded my expectations and blew my damn mind. For this being a prequel, I’m scared to see what’s actually going to happen next if I’m being honest. It was seductive, riveting, , and a hella sexy!!!! I will forever be a fan of this author now and I truly cant wait to see what she comes up with next.

Within a handful of chapters, this story had my chin on the floor. I didn't even know what to make of the chaotic dynamic between the privileged Nathaniel Radcliffe and the less fortunate Juliette Monroe. They spar and debate in the classroom, they're fiercely headstrong and determined to accomplish their academic and career goals and they challenge each other every step of the way. But when Nathaniel discovers Juliette's secrets, he's determined to conquer her in a wholly different way and a decadent, forbidden arrangement ensues.

I'm not typically a huge fan of novellas because I find that there's usually not enough words to deliver a fully fleshed out storyline. But R. Scarlett packs EVERYTHING into this novella and she does it perfectly. Filthy Gods is a story of privilege and wealth, of sensuality and jealousy, of greed and power and fierce attraction. It's a deliciously angsty romance that is as edgy as it is satisfyingly romantic.

This was my very first R. Scarlett novel and it won't be my last. Once Filthy Gods got moving, I was HOOKED. I was infuriated, I was consumed. My only hiccup with this story was that some of the dialogue felt a little too proper at times, a bit unnatural here and there. But this is a story about the upper crust, the wealthy, the privileged, the elite. What do I know about their fancy words and their hoity toity education? So I checked my hang ups at the door and buckled in for a sensual, intoxicating storyline and I'm so glad I did.

Filthy Gods sets the stage for what's sure to be an angsty, sexy, riveting series. I can't wait to see what R. Scarlett has in store for these American Gods because if the upcoming series is anything like this delicious little novella, I'll be anticipating them eagerly.

Lord. Rebecca Scarlett just SLAYED the game and blew up the Enemies to Lovers genre and put EVERYONE on notice. Filthy Gods was AMAZING!! Nathaniel and Juliette were pure FIRE! The storyline was edgy and intense, the banter was out of control sexy and the connection between these two was smoldering! I am seriously addicted to this series and can not wait for the remaining books!

GAHHH!!! This story was INSANE. When Nathaniel Radcliffe discovers the secret Juliette Monroe has been keeping for three years, she has no idea what kind of games he will play to get his way. The passion and the spirited back and forth between them was electrifying. I sat consumed and never wanted it to end. Juliette and Nathaniel had hot AF chemistry and were so compelling. This was the most perfect opposites attract/enemies to lovers story ever as I was on my toes the entire time and waiting for the other shoe to drop.

In this story I especially loved that they were both each other's exception. Juliette was the one who truly saw who Nathaniel was deep down inside. He was part of society's elite crème de la crème and was the heir to his very own kingdom. But this brilliant and sassy woman was not only able to bring him to his knees, but was able to reduce this American God to mere mortal. Likewise, Nathaniel has always been the one thing in the way of Juliette's focus and the man who saw past her emotional barricades. What follows is a sexy and consuming affair that will blow their minds and cross lines neither was expecting.

I seriously FLOVED this story and can not wait for the remaining books in this series. Rebecca has no idea what she did in writing this because I am now a rabid fangirl obsessed with more. Bring on the remaining books in the series! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

***5 ‘Semper Fidelis’ Stars**

Hot. Hot. Hot. Not that I expected any less considering the title is Filthy Gods, because if it wasn’t panty destroying then I’d have been extremely disappointed. But it was more than that. It had heart, humor and I didn’t want it to end.

Nathaniel is deliciously filthy with his words and actions, the man is sex on a stick in every way imaginable, but what makes him lethal is his heart and when that is unleashed all bets are off. Juliette has had one goal in mind since first stepping onto her college campus and she is determined to make it happen. Intelligent, witty and with an inner fire that burns brighter than she realizes, Juliette would definitely be a woman I’d want to be friends with if given the chance.

Their enemies to lovers journey was all kinds of filthy, smexy deliciousness, but it also had a lot of heart. To watch Nathaniel and Juliette become more to each was a lot of fun. Simply put they fit perfectly together.

This is my first read by the author and I want more of her words. The writing was engaging and I was sucked in from the very first page. The pacing was good and I really enjoyed the 1st person POV. Novellas can be tricky, especially when introducing a new series, but Ms. Scarlett did a great job with it. The romance was well done and I didn’t feel like it was missing anything and I got a nice little intro to the American Gods, all of whom I need to know more about, especially one in particular. So, while I wish the next book was already available, I will do my best to wait patiently for it, because the need is real!

Nathaniel Radcliffe and Juliette Monroe, have been competing against each other in the classroom for years now. Every debate, topic, discussion, has them at opposite ends. It's infuriating to Juliette. But it also intrigues her. Nathaniel, with his looks, status, sharp tongue and quick thinking, makes him all the more alluring to Juliette.

Nathaniel and Juliette, find they can't fight what has slowly been brewing between them any longer. They think they can give into the attraction, have a summer of passion, and at the end of the summer, part ways. And once back at Yale, pretend it never happened.

But they weren't prepared for so much more to develop between them. They get under each others skin in the best ways. The passionate embraces, the debates of every topic, and all the stolen moments, have Juliette and Nathaniel questioning if the summer could last forever.

Filthy Gods is a stunningly sexy and captivating start to what I'm sure will be a epic series.
Swoon-worthy, with so much heat, the introduction to this series, with leave you needing more. Nathaniel and Juliette were great. Amazing chemistry, charm, and just enough sweetness to counter the sexy. These two, who come from different worlds, but find in each other the same doubts and wants. You'll definitely be rooting for them.

The American Gods.

You are given just a taste of each of the American Gods. But you are left intrigued and excited for their stories. With just a few descriptions, with just a hint towards the crazy ride I'm sure these stories will be, you'll be craving LOTS more from these gods.

“I was a mess—he was perfect. Like always.”

Anything and everything by R. Scarlett is an instant read for me! She writes some of the best stuff and sexiest men. I crave her words and am always left wanting more. My anticipation for Filthy Gods was over the moon and I jumped at the chance to review. And let me tell you, this book lived up to all the hype.

“He was a mere man, I knew that, but he and his friends were treated like gods. It didn’t help they looked like it, too. Intimidating, perfect and deadly.”

Filthy Gods is a prequel into the American Gods series and gah, it’s perfection! It’s everything you could want in a book. And I can’t wait to read more in this series. Filthy Gods, follows the story of Juliette and Nathaniel. Juliette works had for her place in with the elites but nobody knows that. She’s not rich like all the others but that doesn’t stop her from keeping her chin up and working hard to get what she deserves.

“His words, his words alone had the power to ignite me. His golden words.”

But when she comes face to face with her competitor, he’s shocked to see her on her knees...cleaning. Nathaniel may have it all to the eyes of the people and he may be an American God... but he’s only a mere human and Juliette will soon figure out there is more than meets the eye.

“You’re a god, Nathaniel Radcliffe,” I gasped, my fingers tangling in his dark mane, pulling hard. “A filthy god.”

This book is everything! I devoured this book whole and wanted/ needed more. And I still do. This book is beautiful, powerful, and down right filthy. I look forward to reading more in the series.

I received an Advance Reader Copy for FILTHY GODS (American Gods, Book #0.5) written by R. Scarlett and voluntarily reviewed this book. For the past three years attending Yale, Juliette Monroe has competed for everything of importance against Nathaniel Radcliffe, aptly named as one of the untouchable, unreachable, unattainable “American Gods” of the secret society club on campus, along with his three fellow listers, Gabe, James, and Arsen. Juliette comes from quite the opposite background in comparison and is desperate to keep it a secret, especially with the circulating rumors of her being a trust-fund baby. But when Nathaniel recognizes her and manages to dig the truth out of her during one mishap working as a maid at his family’s exclusive county club estate, he immediately seizes the opportunity to use this knowledge to her advantage, and makes a proposal to keep her secret in exchange for an exclusive arrangement with her through the summer before they begin their final year of studies. Lust and temptation and steamy interludes carry them through the following months, but what will happen when it is over, and it becomes clear it is no longer just an indecent proposal any longer?

This author does a terrific job of describing the aura and the mystique of these young men treated like royalty due to their connections and privileged backgrounds, thereby whetting our appetites for the stories to come! Juliette gave as good as she got in the relationship, but in the end, she was true to herself and her feelings towards Nathaniel. Excellent read and I look forward to more of these “American God” stories!

Filthy Gods is a well-written novella length prequel for the American Gods series that revolves around Nathaniel and Juliette, giving us a very small glimpse into the lives of these 21 year old elite and wealthy young men in a secret society at Yale that are untouchable and powerful gods.

Nathaniel and Juliette are both Law majors and enemies always competing against one another. He’s intelligent and comes from money, having everything handed to him on a silver platter, and Juliette grew up in the foster care system, having to fight for her place at Yale through hard work. She doesn’t care about wealth, but yet she doesn’t want anyone else to find out that she’s far from well off, until Nate finds her working at his family-owned country club for the summer. He strikes up a deal with her that her secret will remain safe with him, if she agrees to a summer affair with him, which then ignites an intense passion between the two and then enemies turn into lovers.

I loved Nathaniel’s character. He was intense, sexy and all alpha, but he was also very charming and sweet as well... and he had a filthy mouth. However, I didn’t care for Juliette's character much. I felt like she was too stiff and a bit one-dimensional with the entire story told from her POV, up until the epilogue which was told from Nate’s POV.. and in my opinion, the epilogue was the best part because we finally got a glimpe into his mindset, which made me bump up my rating by a half star. I wanted, needed , his internal dialogue and the plot could’ve been so much more exciting had we had that, instead of feeling so stiff and formal.

I do think this was a good prequel to set us up for the series, and very well-written, but didn’t think the plot lived up to the hype.

These are the books i live for and have forgotten that i love. The rich, over privileged, think they can get away with anything kind of guys and this book had it in spades.

This was a novella but i thought we got what we needed and more from a book that was a full novel. We got to meet the next characters for the rest of the series and got a little background of all the boys to set us up.

This book had it all secrets, manipulation and an awesome story line. This is about rich country clubs and rich people thinking they can get away with anything but what we learn pretty quickly is that no one gets away with anything when it comes to the American Gods and especially with someone they care about.

I wasn’t sure which way Nathaniel’s character was swaying whether he was in it for a good time or a long time but even though he was rich and didn’t care what anyone thought, he was caring and had a heart under all that steel armour and there were times i didn’t like his character but i wouldn’t want him any other way.

Juliette was so different and i think this is what made the story she was hiding the fact she was poor and trying to fit into the rich scene just to get a good education but when poor and rich collide sometimes it’s what makes an amazing love story.

Absolutely loved this novella, if you like books based in college with a hierarchy of sexy rich brooding men then this the book for you and i would highly recommend.

A massive 5 filthy stars for this, bring on the next books.

My heart is still stuck in overdrive after reading what I’m calling a “GAME-CHANGER” and the “TOP READ OF MY LIFE.” Filthy Gods by R.Scarlett is just what I needed to get me out of my (takes a week to read a full length novel funk) and devour this brilliant, exceptionally written prelude to the AMERICAN GODS SERIES!

Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

Hot. Hot.

Filthy Gods was my first R. Scarlett experience and oh my GOSH. I was completely blown away and R. Scarlett has one of the best romance books of 2018. Yes, I went there, I was THAT impressed. One of my favorite tropes when it comes to reading and especially in the romance world is the whole enemy to lovers to something more and Filthy Gods is basically centered around that trope, but delivers and then some.

Filthy Gods is actually a prequel novella and is a teaser for what the rest of the Filthy Gods series so it was really interesting to read. It talks about these four men who are basically Gods that rule this society. Juliette is just trying to keep her life together and her college career in tact. She may attending one of the best colleges in the world and holds one of the top GPAs but she's not what she seems. Much to Juliette's chagrin, Nathaniel (one of the members of the Gods) is pretty much hellbent on ruining her life. First it was in class, now in her social and work life. They strike up a deal between them for the summer and although they may seem like they absolutely hate one another, the chemistry they create is off the freaking charts.

Filthy Gods was sexy, well written, with heartfelt characters and intriguing plot that just made me gobble it down. I didn't want to stop reading and when I finished I was very, very sad because I didn't want it to end! R. Scarlett is an author to be on the lookout for because this book and the rest of this series has the possibility of burning down the whole romance genre book world. Look out world, here come the Filthy Gods.

RATING: 5 “Experto Crede” Hearts!! <3

Filthy Gods is a quick, tantalizing jaunt into Ms. Scarlett’s world of the wealthy and powerful, Nathaniel and Juliette delighting with their sweet and sexy romance. Though the setup—a rich boy and a poor girl—is one we’ve seen before, Ms. Scarlett does a really nice job of creating a distinctly different, more edgy and erotic, feel to Nathaniel and Juliette’s story. Nathaniel and Juliette could not be more different given their social and financial status, yet they are also very similar when it comes to achieving their goals. Their determination to build a future for themselves and one-up the other is nothing short of deliciously tense as they develop feelings for each other in the process.

"I thought I knew him, how he enraged me and then he brought out another, hidden emotion.
Lust.
Want.
Hope."

The romance of course moves forward quickly given the shorter page length, however the relationship still has a nice complexity, and is ensconced in angst as their affair is threatened not only by outside influences but also time running out as they set one-time only rules for themselves.

Filthy Gods concludes perfectly, things wrapped up neatly for our couple, yet leaving us with bated breath for the next installment as we look forward to the next American God to take centre stage.

I have been dying to get my grabby hands on this book and not only did this book meet my expectations, it far exceeded them!!!!

Filthy Gods is the prequel to the American Gods series. It not only acquaints us to the 3 men known as the American Gods, but introduces us to their confidant & right hand Nathaniel and the power he wields.

"You're out! Protection, connections, success, it's all gone. You just kissed it all goodbye!"

Juliette Monroe works the summer at the Hawthorne Country Club while waiting for classes to begin only to run into her biggest competitor, Nathaniel. She makes a deal with the enemy only to have him consume her.

"Until the end of the summer, you're mine!"

The emotions these two created took my breath away and burnt up my kindle. They were insatiable and set on a destructible path that neither could alter. Could the poor girl and the god find a way to be together?

R. Scarlett gives a taste of what's in store for the rest of the series and boy is it so tempting!!!! Gabe, James & Arsen oh my!!!! I'm eager to see what these American Gods have planned!!!

Filthy Gods is a novella to kick off the American Gods Series. This is R. Scarlett's first contemporary book. She has 5 other great books that are NA Paranormal. I must say she did fantastic with her first contemporary. Now to talk about Filthy Gods. I enjoyed this book a lot! I liked Nathaniel and Juliette. This book has many things I adore in a book. Hate to Love is something I devour in a book and boy does this book have it!

Juliette was a relatable character and Nathaniel appeared to be a complete jerk at first. This book has to be one of the sexiest books I have read! SERIOUSLY SUPER SEXY!!!! R. Scarlett knows how to write some steamy scenes. Just saying... The first scene between them was so hot I was fanning myself. Wow!!! This was a novella so it was short. I would have liked it to be longer so we could have got even more in depth with the characters. Also, I would have liked things to move a bit slower between characters but it was still a great read!

I recommend this book and really any book by R. Scarlett. Especially Vein Of Love because it is still my favorite book by her. If you want a sexy and exciting read then this book is for you!

Oh wow. My first read from Rebecca Scarlett has me over the moon. Filthy Gods is a sexy, passion filled book that has me craving more from the the privileged men of Yale.

Nathaniel Radcliff is a detestable rich boy who has the future of Juliette Monroe in his smug hands. But as they embark on a summer affair in order to protect her lies she can't afford to have become public, everything they've ever thought about each other changes from that very first kiss.

These two have a chemistry that only intensified as the weeks flew by. I was a hot mess each time they met in private, their debates about current events and history as the most exquisite kind of foreplay. I loved how they could challenge each other with just an arched eyebrow, knowing full well it would just fuel their trysts to become much more erotic.

A quick read, this is the perfect beginning to this American Gods series. These powerful and brazen men are a force to be reckoned with and I cannot wait for more. The sweet blend of wildly hot sex, together with an unexpected tenderness is for me, one winning combination.

I happily give Filthy Gods a solid 5 stars!!!

"You're a god Nathaniel Radcliffe, a filthy god."
So, R. Scarlett is a new to me author, and i decided to give her a shot with Filthy Gods- I just loved the title, and then the cover, of course I had to give it a go!
Yale has a secret society full of wealthy, elite, and attractive men. Among these men, is Nathaniel Radcliffe. He was conceeded, and arrogant. We were deadly opponents, with deadlier minds in the classroom... I swore he wouldn't have the upper hand... Until he discovered the secret I had been hiding for three years... Now he has all the power.
I loved Nathaniel, and the story was short, and fast-paced, i really enjoyed the dynamics between the main characters.
But, one thing that drew me out of the story, was the main female's name- Juliette. Don't get me wrong, i love the name- love it so much it is my daughters name. So, every time i read her name, i think of my daughter instead of the character and it pulls me out of the story some. But other than that, i really enjoyed the story, and can't wait to check out the next book Rich Boys Don't Have Hearts (love the title!)
I give this book 4⭐ out of 5⭐.

For Scarlett’s first take at contemporary romance I’d say she slayed it. It was a great way to start a new series.
Great characters, perfect setting, alpha on point and the heat in this book should not have all fit in a small novella (whew, I’m still recovering).

I found myself wanting more information on Nathaniel and had to remind myself it was a novella and that Scarlett would have so much opportunity to give us everything we desired in the books to come.

Also- if you’re new to Ms Scarlett please be warned that she is the master of those lustful scenes. I mean, c’mon woman.

The secret society has mad appeal and could really be something beautiful. I’m a huge fan of Scarlett’s writing so to say I’m interested is a huge understatement. Her twist on the privileged elite could blow up in front of us all.

All in all, Take the chance, read her words. Filthy Gods was short and sweet and I’m eager to read more.

Happy Reading Peeps,

This book is flaming hot!!! The chemistry between these two is off the charts, and the angst and drama are just the right amount of pure book genius. I searched trying to find out when the next book comes out, but it only says 2018. I need it NOW! This is going to be a highly addictive series. I read the book for free, but after finishing it, I went back and bought it because I know I will want to read it again. What is there not to love? It has insanely hot men, beautiful women, weath, power, Ivy Leguge school drama, real life struggles, desire, and fiercely loyal friends. The story highlights two different social economical worlds colliding, but in the end love conquers all!! It has a happy ending. I highly recommend this book. The stream level is a 4.8 out of 5, but the realistic dialog, chemistry, and drama make this book a 5+++ Hope the next book in the series comes out soon. I am hooked!!!!

R. Scarlett is another new-to-me author, and this prelude to her new American Gods Series was so good! Nathaniel and Juliette's enemies-to-lovers romance was surprisingly sweet, and I really enjoyed the story surrounding Nathaniel's secret society at Yale. Scarlett's writing was fast paced and very suspenseful, keeping me glued to the pages throughout. Although the story was sexy and steamy, I also loved that the overall feeling was very romantic as well!

'Filthy Gods' is a novella, but Nathaniel and Juliette's story felt perfectly complete. It's also a great sneak peek into the mysterious 'American Gods', and their characters will each be featured in the rest of the series. Honestly, I can't wait to learn more about these Yale boys, and Gabe's story in 'Filthy Rich Boys Don't Have Hearts' is set to release late 2018!

4.5 Stars for Me!

There’s a fine line between love and hate. Rebecca Scarlett’s Filthy Gods does a fine job of demonstrating it. Nathaniel Radcliffe is everything wealthy and privileged. Juliette Monroe is not, having to work hard for everything she earns. Their push and pull evident in the pages. I love the chemistry and the fight to ignore the undeniable attraction. Juliette is a strong, confident woman and that comes across easily in every description. Nathaniel is not what he seems and it’s enlightening. Even though this is only a short introduction to the American Gods series, it has depth and enticing characters that you want to learn more about. The writing is strong. Nathaniel and Juliette’s story may have been short but it was intelligent and sexy and leaves you wanting more of this cast of characters. I can’t wait for the next in the series, Rich Boys Don’t Have Hearts.

AHHHHH!!!!! I’m honestly struggling with words for this review. My brain is still in the fan girl scramble after finishing Filthy Gods. If the novels to follow are anything like this novella then I can only assume they will be just as explosive! How R. Scarlett packed such a punch into such a compact story is mind blowing! There was an instant connection for me with Nathaniel and Juliette, it was overwhelming and explosive and all at once. From the moment I finished it I wanted to flip right to the beginning and experience it again. Filthy Gods was that amazing. The chemistry of enemies to loves is hot! And as emotions run high and fast it is a beautiful ride you just have to take! The American Gods Series is on the top of my future to Reads and I can’t wait!

Absolute, hands down. Must, must read.

What can I truly say about R. Scarlett that I haven't already been saying?! She is one of my all-time favorite authors. Filthy Gods was every single thing I love about Rebecca, she keeps me addicted from beginning to end every single time.

LOVED IT! It was a delight to read from start to finish. This story had everything I’m looking for in a good romance read.

I loved the fun interactions between the characters. The heroine went through a lot, but she still stood strong against everything that happened. The hero was pure perfection. He’s someone who fights for what he wants.
I can only recommend this book to all lovers of sexy romance novels, and if you loved the other books of this author I am pretty sure you will also love this one.
