The story continues to en thrall me. I find myself talking out loud to the characters as I read, trying to warn them of danger. It is so well written that it plays in my mind as though I'm watching it at the cinema.

Historical fantasy isn't really my thing. Nor is realism in medieval hand-to-hand combat. However, these elements are used to excellent effect by Stephenson and his co-authors to build a compelling story.

I am finding the characters being "fleshed out" in this second book, makes the first book even more interesting. I'm enjoying the play of history against fantasy. I have not read much based on this time period and it is making me curious enough to read more.

...so I expect all stories will finish/be explained at the end.
I knew the book was basically the evolution of the different plots presented in the first book after reading previous reviews from the book, so I wasn't expecting more than that. The Mongoliad Book Two kept me entertained and wanting to know more. I already pre-ordered the third one and can't wait for it to be released!
So basically, keep in mind it is sort of a huge book divided in three. In order to make any sense of this book you need to read the first part before, and if you want to know how everything ends, you will need to read the third one.

This book gets boring in the middle. The first one is great, but this one kind of goes on and on. My suggestion, if you like the first book, just don't buy this one. There's nothing more to see unless the third one's good.

I ENJOYED THIS BECAUSE OF ITS DEPTH OF CHARACTERS AND ITS NUMBER. ITS MANY LOCATIONS AND THE HUMANITY AND MORALITY OF ALL BUT A FEW OF THEM .GIVEN ITS LACK OF HISTORY KNOWN AT THE TIME IT IS INTERESTINGLY INVENTIVE THOUGH IT DOES JUMP AROUND A BIT.I KNOW IT WILL BE MORE COHESIVEAS STORY PROGRESSES.

Asied from a convoluted plot, the book cannot escape the effects of being written by multiple aurhors. There are numerous other and much better written, more interesting books on this period out there.

It started out a little bit confusing because so many new characters were introduced since the first book. Once I was able to get into the different plot lines, it became very interesting. I am really looking forward to the next book which is due in February.
