Love Jill Shalvis. I have read everything she has out there and always anxiously await her next book. Have really enjoyed her Hearbreaker Bay series, along with Lucky Harbor series, Animal Magnetisim and started out with cedar Ridge and then went back and read all the others.

Accidentally on Purpose by Jill Shalvis is the most intoxicating romance read ever. Imagine having a sexy hulk in your life daily...he just oozes male and sex. What I really liked was how the tall handsome hulk never went after the gorgeous long legged blonde he worked with...both of the charcaters had restraint to a point. I was amazed. I would have melted on spot like Elle felt every time she went near him. Archer has that no nonsense attitude and he doesn't like any other man around her...it drives him insane. But she, Elle, deserves the best. It will take some time before he realizes he's had enough and goes after her. But by then, he'll need to convince Elle that they fit together.
Once again, Jill Shalvis has created a masterpiece. One that tugs at my heart and has me on a rollercoaster ride. Jealously, need, want, love, laughter...sadness...Accidentally on Purpose has it all. I loved it. The charcaters created a visually engaging tale. One that hooked me from the beginning. A page turner. Hot, addictive, and entertaining. The scenes felt real...the romance kept building up...the suspense was a killer. Jill Shalvis has a talent for writing the perfect romances that have just the right combination of elements to make readers like me fall in love. Overall, I highly recommend this brilliant story to readers worldwide.

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - Archer is an excellent alpha male but not the nicest. He doesn't show his soft side until way at the end of this book. We can read the story in his POV so we know that he is harsh with Elle & pushes her away because he doesn't want to hurt her. Elle believes that Archer sees her as the teenage grifter with no purpose who constantly needs saving. "She was stronger than this. She didn't want a man who didn't want her back." And yet Archer is torn about his feelings for her. "You're a fantasy come true, Elle." When he was with her and let his guard down and enjoyed her body, he found himself. It takes him a long time to face this fact though. Elle may be beautiful & put together & an ice queen, but her past as a child of a grifter comes back to haunt her, her estranged sister brings danger to their doorstep, & that is where the book finally started to get more interesting. Archer confesses his feelings when he's seriously injured, then he rudely shuts Elle out when he finally has an honest talk with his father, and then he has to figure out a way to prove to Elle that everything he told her was true & he loves her! The entire group, which has now become a tight family, supports him as he has to find a way to get Elle back in his life.
Instant Gratification (Wilder Brothers) :: My Kind of Wonderful (Cedar Ridge) :: Always on My Mind (A Lucky Harbor Novel) :: Animal Magnetism (An Animal Magnetism Novel) :: He's So Fine (A Lucky Harbor novel)

Accidentally on Purpose was the third book in the Heartbreaker Bay series by Jill Shalvis.
Archer Hunt was the gorgeous, grumpy, smart ex cop and current investigation firm owner. He was sexy, raw and gruff and the bane to Elle Wheaten’s existence. Elle was the beautiful, snarky, bold and independent building manager where Archer’s firm was housed. Sparks ignited every time they were in the same room.
Archer and Elle had history but we didn’t know what the history was, just that it occurred many years prior. As the story progressed we learned the details. As typical for the series, it was suspenseful, well written, well developed and had an abundance of humorous characters. It also had the supporting cast that we’ve come to love prominent to the storyline.
It was written with a dual POV. I liked both characters but it took longer than I desired to develop. A shorter version would have been just as successful, without missing anything important.
All in all, it was another entertaining and fun addition to the series. Next up, we finally get Spencer’s story in Chasing Christmas Eve.

Wow!!!! I just finished this book and I'm breathless!!! I don't know if I have the words to tell you how much I loved this story. Archer is a hero and protector bar none!!! He has spent the last eleven years watching over Elle and making sure she is safe. Elle was the girl that got to him, she had him doing things that would cost him so much but in the end she gave him everything!!! Theirs isn't an easy love story it took courage for both of them to let the other one close. They both had hearts that were surrounded by brick walls that had to be removed carefully, one brick at a time. Archer fell first and hard then he had to believe enough for both of them until he convinced her he wouldn't leave that he loved her forever and it was safe for her to love him too!!! The writing of this book was genius, it was so well written that I couldn't stop reading until I was done and now that I have posted my review I'm going to go back and read it again!!! I have fallen for this book family and I can't wait to read more!!! Well done Jill Shalvis I think you are insanely talented I am a fan for life!!

I knew from the beginning of this series that Archer was going to be my favorite and I was right. He is the 150 percent alpha man that denies his feelings because the woman he loves deserves better.
Archer and Elle's story has many ups and downs that will keep you up until you finish the book. Accidentally on Purpose was delivered to my Kindle this morning and I couldn't put it down. At times, I was laughing out loud and other times, nearly in tears. Definitely the best book I've read thus far this year.
This is a stand alone book, but it definitely helps you get to know Elle and Archer in the first two books, which are very well written works.

I have been waiting for Elle and Archer's story... and Jill Shalvis does not disappoint! If you haven't read any of the other Heartbreaker Bay stories you really should. But even if you haven't you can still enjoy this one... then, you'll WANT to go back and read the others. Elle and Archer are a part of the same group of friends, but there's always been tension between them. An undercurrent that their friends can feel. It's obvious they have a history, that no one else knows. It's a heady combination of attraction, disdain, protection, and some elusive backstory that neither one will share. Their story will keep you intrigued- reading for more, trying to figure it out. And of course, neither wants to admit their attraction for the other. Again with that secret past of theirs - they each have their reason for not giving in to the attraction. But when they finally do... hot, hot, hot!!!
Jill Shalvis is an automatic read for me. Her books are always the ones I can't put down!!
ARC for honest review

I have read just about all of Jill SHalvis' books and really them. This is one of 2 that I did not.
The writing didn't flow like it usually does. I was anxious to read about the dynamic duo,
Archer and Elle, but the story took too many turns and their repartee, which was the fun part,
was not as concise or sharp as it was in the previous books from the group that included their
friends, Finn and Pru, Spence, Willa, etc. It was stiff and boring. I was disappointed as I was primed to read it from the "tease," from the book released previously, Its about Mistletoe or something like
that. The other book I didn't like and actually hated was a paranormal book by J.SHalvis written
quite a while ago. I don't like to read paranormal stuff and was surprised by it, considering this cuthor.

When the emergency exit system fails, building manager Elle Wheaton has not choice to call the head of security, Archer Hunt, and she so didn’t want to do that. Not that Elle hates Archer, not really. She’s had a crush on him for a long time, but she feels she owes him her life, and she wants to be independent, but most of all feel secure, and Archer is everything but that. Elle and Archer had known each other for a brief moment, 11 years ago, and Elle has forever felt guilty at what had happened to Archer after that fateful night. Archer doesn’t seen things the same way, but the way he felt couldn’t be helped in the past. Archer wishes Elle would bend a little bit, but if he’s stubborn, she’s the most pig-headed woman to ever grace the face of the earth.
Sometimes I wish Ms. Shalvis wrote more serious matter, because she really excels at it, but then again the hilarious banter might be absent, and a humorous tone is Jill Shalvis’ trademark. As usual, ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE features the banter, the snark, and the giggles. Both Archer and Elle had superb backstories, which has defined their outlook on life; I felt Archer dealt better with things, because Elle is so set in her way of not wanting any help from anyone, that she is seriously aggressive towards almost anyone who tries to be kind.
I usually don’t fancy alpha heroes that much, but Archer is fabulous; he’s very protective, and it’s because what Elle’s early life had been, and he does want the best for her. He is a control freak, but so is Elle, but he’s nice, or tries to be; I really liked him, and I thought Elle was really too stubborn and determined to hate him, no matter how she really felt. I found Elle quite disagreeable; she’s proud, she feels guilty towards Archer, but it just went on a tad too long; I mean, get over it, woman! While I understood Elle’s issues and where she was coming from, enough is enough: try to live in the present, and accept what the man offers you; Archer was upfront and honest, and he really tried, but Elle was a tough nut to crack! Also, I might be accused of nitpicking here, but all the talk of wanting to strangle people, to kill people, while meant in jest, left me quite uncomfortable, because there was just too much of it. And most of the time, it was pointless. If you don’t mind a mule-headed woman who takes a long time to get around, you will enjoy ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

It has always been delightful to read a Jill Shalvis book because it’s a surefire romantic, funny, sexy and hit all the feels. Accidentally on Purpose is not an exception.
Archer Hunt and Elle Wheaten has a thing in the past that still affects them both now. Elle, despite her change from that girl in the past to the woman she is now, still couldn’t get past Archer’s barrier to think of her as nothing but that girl. And Archer, being Elle’s saviour of that fateful night, couldn’t make peace to the fact that if he pursues Elle and she agrees, it’s only because it will serve as a payment for everything he has done for her. They wanted each other for like ever but this thing between them holds them back. Also, they wanted different things. Or so they thought.
Now let me say it was truly entertaining to get to know Archer and Elle.
Archer who’s the lead security of the building where Elle works at, is all alpha, gorgeous in every way, cold (because he has to) and a little funny. Let’s call him Mr. Alpha. He gets his way–always, very smart, manipulates people (it’s a job thing) and really is a big stubborn man. Also, who can resist a man in uniform?
Apparently, Elle can. I loved Archer (duh) but I’m not chicken to admit that I loved Elle more. I love a bada$s heroine and this woman definitely fits the bill. She worked through the sh*t storm that happened to her life. She didn’t let the past define her. She’s independent, fierce, rocks heels like they’re just flats and can be a mean undercover. Archer didn’t scare her. In fact, she could fight him all day without breaking a sweat. I have mad respect for women who can set their men straight.
I’d like to think these two would be under my Power Couple list because of their fire. And the thing about both of them? They have layers. They’re not just pretty good looks and hot bod.
The story didn’t give light to what happened in the past until it was halfway mark so I kept on guessing what it was, who were involved and why they acted the way they did. I would have wanted a flashback scene when it happened to clarify things easier. But all I read were narration from the characters the way they viewed it. Not that I’m complaining–it did work. I also learned the depth of trust both characters have to each other.
It was also pleasing to see the whole gang from the previous books here. They’re still the adorable bunch I’d known and they added to the familial warmth and strong bond that was there from the beginning.
The pacing was okay, I didn’t get bored thanks to the banter that was flat out hilarious and one of the best I read. It’s one thing that they have this sizzling chemistry but add in the enemies-to-lovers with a hint of friendship and that they know each other most of their lives and want to tear clothes off of each other, the tension just hit its maximum level. It was fun to see how they push each other’s buttons and bicker like $exually frustrated adults. I enjoyed it so much in the beginning but as I go along, I thought it got dragged out. Not annoying but it would’ve been enough to cut the chase shorter.
But other than that, this was a solid romance book that I’d highly recommend. It was charming to see they surrendered to their true feelings and got a do-over. The story was sweet but not over the top just enough to keep you swoon and drool haha, and totally endearing that I grinned at every character’s interaction with another. This is a must-read!
