This book is hilarious and everything in it is so so true! LOL It's the perfect gift for a graduate, a friend, or just buy one for yourself! Regardless, whoever gets this book will NOT be disappointed...any grown up would appreciate it. The author is a genius!

Bought two copies as graduation gift... I've already received calls that it's a lite spirited manual to the heavy realities of living life as an adult in the real world. Lol. They can say they entered without 'knowing' now. Lol lol. Nice conceptually and appropriately support by illustration, graphics and overall book quality.

Grab a copy!!!

I really wish I could have read it before I bought it. Kind of lame story. I was truthfully expecting a more of cute or funny story line.I still gave it to my graduate; but it didnt really have the fun response I was thinking when I ordered it.

Disgusting. Early in the book, it says some people are stuck to welfare "like glue." It goes on to insult the DMV and its workers. We all make fun of the DMV but this was too much. Toward the end, there are four pages about domestic violence that make light of the serious crime. It refers to abusive men as "crazies" (insults people with mental illness and if you do some research you'll find that abusive men are not crazy at all). It also suggests that a woman should let an abuser "down easy" or he'll "hit the roof." This is the victim-blaming mentality that suggests to women they must find ways to control the abuser's behavior. There is no way to control an abuser. That's how domestic violence works.

I enjoyed reading this book. It's full of laughs and is the perfect graduation gift for and individual with a good sense of humor!! I've read all of the books from this author and his his comically amazing. The illustrations are colorful and never a disappointment. I will be watching out for the next book by him.

Hmmm, sad to have to say this after all the rave reviews I read before purchasing this book. Everyone talked about how funny it was etc. so I thought GREAT. But...not so great ??

Although some of the content was decent it seemed to dumb down common sense & intellect and didn't really encourage goal minded kids, whom it is designed for. I didn't even want to give it to my daughter that is how disappointed I was. But I reluctantly did. Her response, "Really mom? What is this garbage? ". I had to apologize. Luckily I didn't wait & give it to her at her grad party.

I don't mean to sound harsh but I try to be honest in my product reviews.

This book is meant to be funny and I get that. We simply did not see the humor in it. Sad but true.

This book gives a fun heads up to graduates about some of the things that people have to deal with in the real Adult world. Obviously it's marketed as a gift, but even reading it as someone who graduated a few years ago, you can't help but laugh at remembering your first disastrous trip to the DMV or just how confusing taxes really are. The pages in the back for people to sign are a really cute touch! And the writing styles makes it more fun than just reading it in regular prose.

This book is not funny, and it also perpetuates inaccurate stereotypes of how taxes are used, how the DMV works, and how ignorant the average college graduate is. The illustrations and text often have racist depictions of black, Hispanic, and Asian people. At one point, the text indicates that a remarkable portion of one's taxes goes to lazy welfare recipients...the whole thing just reeks of classism, racism, sexism, etc. Don't be fooled by the seemingly cute/witty take on a Dr. Seuss book--this is not worth your money.

Someone gave this to my cousin, and she immediately threw it in the recycling bin (not worth donating--don't want another person in this world to be subjected to this garbage).

Received as a present. College graduation gift for my husband. The book explains things like taxes, the dmv and bad relationships with a dark humor, and strong focus on all the things that can go wrong. It would probably work well for someone just getting out of High School and hasn't experienced the real world yet or life on their own. But was kind of off the mark and insulting for someone like my husband who already served 6 years in the military, got married had kids, owns a home and then went to college and graduated.
