So funny! The characters grab your attention and keep you laughing and guessing throughout each book. My husband also reads them as a means of de-stressing after work, he stays up later than I do and often his laughter will wake me :)

Really a joy to read. Gail Carriger has a fantastic way with the text, taking the reader into a modified England where vampires and werewolves are members of Society. It it really quite fun and fascinating. There is romance, action, humor, science-fiction and just tons and tons of fun!
I strongly recommend this series for anyone!

I absolutely loved this series. One of the things that attracts me to the steampunk genre is the creativity of the writer. The world Gail Carriger created is engaging, entertaining and just plain fun to read about. I read right through the entire boxed set and was sorry to reach the end.
Waistcoats & Weaponry (Finishing School) :: Prudence (The Custard Protocol) :: A Claw & Courtship Novella (Volume 1) - How to Marry a Werewolf :: Soulless (The Parasol Protectorate) :: and the Cat in the Jar) (The Parasol Protectorate)

I enjoyed every quirky thing about the story and characters. Almost believable fantastic inventions, absurd names, made up words and surprising plots all delivered with skill. Hats off to you Gail Carriger!

There are so many steampunk knockoff writers who think it's sufficient to throw in a steam engine and some funny glasses to make me care. Yes, there are plenty of funny eyeglasses and steam-driven devices. There's also a rich world-building here with its own logical "rules" - how are werewolves and vampires different? What kind of power could you have if you chose not to use carbon fuels?
I loved the costume descriptions, the snarky heroine, and the rich lively humor above all.
I devoured all of the books and wish there were more.

What can I say that everyone hasn't already noted? This collection is so fun, exciting, laugh out loud hilarious and full of twists and turns, I had a hard time putting it down. I believe I have read it twice now.

A very well told engaging imaginative steampunk story. My only complaint is that the cover art looks nothing like the character and it makes her look like she has some sort of deformity with her spine. The cover art also doesn't make her look nearly a beautiful and confident as I imagine her from the author's descriptions.

Wonderful escape. Loved these books and the writing is excellent. Not a steam punk genre reader but I still really enjoyed all the inventive machines. Also nice to read a book with a real heroine like Alexia.

I couldn't put these books down! Originally I had bought Soulless. Before I finished, I bought the whole set. The characters, the story....I wish I could be in the Parasolverse . Gail Carriger is the best!?

I bought the set since it was more cost effective and enjoyed every book in the series! I enjoyed the humor (yes I did laugh in spots) and I felt that I was right in the room with the characters! Will be checking out other titles by this author!

If you liked Twilight and other vampire and werewolf stories, you'll like this one a lot. Cute and snarky, with lots of biting wit and sarcasm, the stories meander together in a colorful melange` until they merge into a crazy quilt of Steampunk fantasy and romance. Fun, light reading for the summer.

Picked it up on a recommendation from a friend. Fun read. Interesting and refreshing take on vampires, werewolves, and ghosts, with a healthy dash of slight steampunk thrown in. Kickass female protagonist and characters with a decent variety of type and depth. Overall, I'm impressed.

This author is unpredictable and has a fun style. Characters are fantastical and yet somehow believable. I whipped thru the boxed set and enjoyed it immensely. There is some sex and homosexuality - unlike the similar series for YA. Vocabulary is college level and not vulgar that I recall.

Lots of action keeps the plot moving & the reader enthralled. Was terribly sad to reach the end if this book, thus the series. I can't help but hope we'll see Alexia & her eclectic group of friends again!

I could hardly put these books down to make myself go to bed. I love the way she keeps the tones of her books serious and whimsical at the same time. I have been reading everything by Ms Carriger I can get my hands on.

These are some of my favorite novels. The characters are lovable and the writing is excellent. Perfect for when you want a completely enjoyable read and to get lost in a different reality. I am bad at writing reviews, but I am good at recommending books and these are for the reader who has been looking for a good book to read and is starting to lose faith in anything new or wonderful.

My daughter, a school teacher shared Souless with me and most of her good friends. We waited breathlessly for each following book release. I bought the boxed set for my 14 year old niece for Xmas. She's an avid reader and know she'll have them all read before Easter.

The Parasol Protectorate is terrifically imagined! From the first it grabbed me with its steam-punk environment and mad chopped salad of supernaturals and human nature. Very strong entry into this genre.

In all the books are fabulous!
The problem is that I bought them used and I thought they would be in a better condition. I have bought other used books and they are in much better condition. For example, timeless has a library stamp and sharpie on the spine. Gail Carriger is an excellent writer.

Having been stuck in "historical romance" for some time, I have no idea how I came across this series, but I am very pleased that I did. Still set in century past, it's witty, whimsical and provocative. Strong female characters balanced by interesting male counterparts. Sci-fi mixed with adventure, vampires, and werewolves.

After reading the first I jumped at the chance to get the whole series as a boxed set. I enjoyed the characters and the humor. The alternative world is one I'd love to visit. A strong female protagonist is someone I always look for in my reading.

At first I was a little taken aback when starting to read it, as it was very different then expected and I was first unsure wether I liked it or not. I think you either think it's stupid or you fall for it's easy charm. But I found it after the first chapter to be entertaining, easy and fun to read. Jusr finished the last of the series and can easily recommend it.

The first book Soulless is an excellent book. I enjoyed it very much and laughed quite a bit. I liked the new supernatural lore that is introduced into the book. I give Soulless 4 stars.
Changeless was good ... it had the same feel as the first book. Another interesting mystery for Alexia to solve and her relationship with Lord Maccon is wonderful. However, the ending of the book left an extremely sour taste in my mouth and I haven't had the will to continue reading in the last few weeks. Because of that, I've lowered the rating to 3 stars. I think I'll go back and finish reading the series, but I can't promise that I will.
I enjoy the way this author writes and will probably not wait so long to purchase one of her books from another series the next time.
