Fine if you know a lot about touring Istanbul, Israel, Cyprus etc. as a travelog. Too many sub plots for follow without getting bored. I have read all of the Dirk Pitt novels and think Cussler has lost it here.

Clive Cussler just keeps putting out the best stories. I am never disappointed with any of the books that he authors. This story kept me glued to my book till the end, and as always, ended with me wanting more. Thanks again Clive for the great adventure.

This novel centers on a roman galley lost in 1570 at the height of the Ottoman Empire. This galley contained the remnants of Jesus when he lived on earth. The sinister comes by way of greedy Muslims, the last descendants of the Ottomans who prevail in underhandedly acquiring all discovered artifacts from Allah's and Jesus' life on earth. It is very suspenseful. This novel is hard to set aside and you will want to grasp at reading it to it's very end. Crescent Dawn (Dirk Pitt Adventure)

Cussler continues to keep the excitement going from page to page as he weaves two action themes throughout tying them into a superb conclusion. His use of all the Numa characters and all of the members of the Pitt family is an added plus.

I believe I would prefer the stories that were in the beginning. Once Dirk got married and the kids appeared on scene, I was tossed back and forth from what they were doing to what he was doing and I lost interest in it. Never finished it.

My life has parallels with Mr. Pitts. Now grown son and daughter, from launching and landing STS Orbiters to presently flying Aerostats in AFG. Reading the Cussler's is like living a parallel life, a great way to spend a couple days. Time is on my mind. Thanks once again.
