The information in this book is well presented and really helped me comprehend the 'how' to end a toxic relationship in a loving and God honoring way, without the guilt. My life became instantly better after reading this book.

Excellent book! Great tool for retooling. The author speaks in simple terms providing real life examples.

Our church staff is using this book to help redefine ministries and programs. This book is a major asset that does an excellent job of focusing of the "why" of various program/events. Throughout the book one will be able to see areas of their life where a necessary ending is needed.

I liked the perspective in this book...we all have to do endings in our lives to allow us to move on. There are helpful and non-helpful ways to do this. There is plenty to stimulate you to reflect on many aspects of your life and what needs to stay and what needs to go.
Very helpful book. Probably should schedule reflection time with it.

Everyone needs to read this book! We all are swayed one way or another by someone who is not someone we need in our lives, either at work or our personal life. These people are toxic for us either by being mean or a bully, it doesn't matter. This book is a keeper to be read over & over again with a hilighter in one hand.

The discoveries I made when reading this book, relating to my personal life, and the lives of those around me, made this book a good read. Starting with the necessary ending of death, and working our way throughout all the endings that we encounter, this book made it seem not so scary, and easier to deal with the endings that we now know are inevitable.

I have had the privilege of hearing Dr. Cloud speak in person, and even have a segment of Necessary Endings taught in a group setting. The advice in this book is very good. The situations presented give concrete examples, and show why and how many of us do not do the things that are healthiest for us relationally. I highly recommend this book.

Perfect baseline for evaluating and describing emotionally healthy personality characteristics and disfunctional personality disorders, both in the business world and in our personal lives. Dr. Henry Cloud excels in analyzing and defining the three (3) basic personality types: the wise, the foolish, and the evil, and their expectations. The author's counseling experience offers resolutions for difficult interactions with business associates, friends and family members. Refreshing, inspiring and motivating! Being a senior citizen, the content proved true to my life experiences. I wish I had read this book years ago!

Everyone should read this book, for marriages, businesses or churches. The pressure of the doing nothing about unproductive situations is spelled out in this book. Dr Cloud provided an excellent road map of pruning and how it works for the good of new life.
This a book to be used as a reference when needed in forecasting and for solutions to personnel problems and personal problems.
I gave it a good review.

This book is about relationships, business and personal. It allows you to evaluate, what in a relationship/business needs to end, and if necessary, what relationship needs to end in order for you to move on to a better future.
It's on my list of top 10 books.

Good read. Very helpful to gain a better understanding for how we are wired and provides good principles for how to relate to others in professional and personal life. Also talks about seasons and how to determine when is the best time to create an ending to move on to what is better for you, the other person, or both.

Necessary Endings is a necessary read for new beginnings. This book not only gives the why but the how. It was amazing of how much of this book I've been able to apply not only to my personal life but work as well.

This book came along at just the right time. Many of the situations I have been facing, both personally and professionally required that I stop allowing some things to continue. "Necessary Endings" answered my questions about how to change what was not working and begin what to chart a new path to the future. I highly recommend this book for anyone in leadership, you will glean solid, practical advice that will benefit you, your family or company. It is so good, I can't wait to re-read it a second time.

There is a whole lot of "the bleedin' obvious" in this book, but it's worth mining for the nuggets of wisdom which do exist. I will definitely be reading this again, more slowly, and with a notebook, which ought to be recommendation enough.

Cloud does a great job of simplifying what can be a difficult topic by helping readers to get to the heart of their fears as they relate to necessary endings. He deftly demonstrates how the principles related to this topic apply both in business as well as in personal relationships. This book provides a great foundational exposition to assist readers in examining their own behaviors and guiding them through a process of deeper self discovery.

Although I read this book for personal reasons and boy did I find a lot of useful things, this book will also have a profound impact on my professional life as well. Also to note I am not usually a big reader of these types of book (typically prefer a good novel) but found this a very easy read and many times could not put it down. I just kept saying wow that is me!

Necessary Endings is a thoughtful guide to both business and personal relationships. It helps clarify what needs to be pruned in order to continue growing. The book gives progressive examples how pruning practices help make healthy and progressive relationships. The specific examples bring to light Dr. Cloud's guidance, yet are still open ended enough to allow the reader to come to their own conclusion. This brings clarity to making those difficult necessary endings.

This book was purchased as a retirement gift for my mother who wasn't very happy about the next chapter in her life. She had read Dr. Cloud's 'Boundary....' books and had felt very moved and inspired by his teachings, so this seemed to be a natural choice for her. Wow, I couldn't have asked for a more fitting book to help my mom with her transition. She has used this book to change how she interacts with others both in working relationships, and family relationships, to feel at peace.

This book is well written and applicable to both home and work situation. I have read a number of leadership books and found content that was new to me. Endings are not generally easy. This book gives some strategies for how to objectivly assess when an ending needs to happen so it's not just an emotional thing. Worth the read!

With this book Dr. Cloud performs two great services. He gives us permission to move on from situations that have long since ceased to be a source of positive energy. Second, he suggests ways to enhance the chances for a successful ending. In the last 20 years I have had to end two major business relationships. I handled both situations badly. I wish I would have had this book to guide me.

This book about necessary endings was eye-opening for me. It was helpful to show to create positive change and respond to change. I have been using the principles to lead and manage my team better, returning to the book to revisit some of the principles for clarity.

This book is a must read for every person! Whether you're a leader, a business person or a human that has any form of interpersonal relationship- this book contains TONS of wisdom to discern when it's appropriate to end something and how to take action on it. Brilliant. Wise. Applicable.

Read it!

This book states some things that seem so obvious after you read them, but that you usually don't think about in the midst of life's events. It will definitely give you something to think about in business applications and life in general. The book arrived in good time and good condition.

Clearly identified practical, usable principles and skills that, if practiced, will make a HUGE difference in helping teams and individuals perform at higher levels, increase clear communication, and enable individuals to move on to a better "fit" when they are not performing well, or are stuck in a comfort zone.
