As insurance agents, I believe that must have a strategy to offer to business owners that makes sense in the way they urgently need solutions to the path that is coming to each retiree that initiates retirement stage and every dollar counts. Selling Policies based only on death needs is obsolete, no longer satisfy needs or pains. This book is about living needs, about the "reality" that every 55 year old has seen coming.

This changed my mind on whole life insurance. It's really amazing to me how many"gurus" poo-poo whole life, but never even brings up any of their benefits. They sometimes point to how the benefits of whole life are often coming from people that sell it but never mention the fact that they are profiting on a strategy that ignores it.
Read the book and make up your own mind. And no, I don't sell life insurance, but after reading this book I might.

As a Financial Planner, I have seen many programs geared to sell to clients. Dave's book is correct, it is about a nasty four letter word, MATH. I think even the most skeptical people do believe that there is no possible way that our government can keep spending money and handing out freebies at this pace without serious consequences. I have added this program to my practice and now I feel like I am best serving my clients. Thanks for putting the hard work in to make this book happen.

While previous generations looked forward to retiring with guaranteed pensions, a secure social security program and lower tax rates; many Baby Boomers and their children face a much different reality. Most company pensions are gone, social security is underfunded and tax rates in the future are likely to be much higher. David McKnight has produced an important prescription in this book that will prove very helpful in funding a 25 or 30 year retirement in that environment.

If you are concerned with the potential for rising income tax rates in the future, you have to question the way we have been taught to invest in plans that save taxes today but are taxed when received. McKnight takes us through the likelihood of increased income tax rates, and helps us look at how we can take advantage of strategies to minimize or eliminate the impact of these increases. Perhaps now is the time to "think outside the box" before it gets too late.

As a current practitioner of the strategies in David's book, I feel that he had done a great job portraying the importance of planning for a tax free retirement. This is truly one of the best reads on the subject. David was able to make such an informative book short but full of examples and data while continuously keeping the reader wanting more...not many financial books can put this combination together. I highly recommend this book to anyone currently saving for or already in retirement.

Bravo David. Your Zero tax bracket strategy is what I've been teaching to people ever since I saw you present it. What you have done is to build a strategy plan based on what the tax rulebook says now, while incorporating the most likely changes for the future. Perhaps now more people will see the big picture and recognize the urgency to work with someone who can help them incorporate your strategy. An absolute must read.

The Power of Zero perfectly outlines why taxes will most likely rise, substantially, and provides an overview of how you can get your retirement savings into a 0% tax bracket, before that happens. If you think Congress is doing a great job, will spend within its means, promptly balance the budget, and do all this without raising taxes, then feel free to ignore this book . . . otherwise, it needs to be the next book you read!

Good explanations about potential later tax impact on future retirement income, and discusses some ways to mitigate. Fairly short so not as intimidating as some other financial books. The bottom line is you must assess what you believe future tax rates will be and act accordingly.

Remember the advertising slogan "you can pay me now or you can pay me later". McKnight's book makes a strong case for the idea of paying lesser taxes today rather than paying higher taxes in the future. He has created a quick read book that provides practical alternatives most people need to understand. Read this book and you'll learn some things your financial advisor probably doesn't know.

This is a really worthwhile read! Easy to understand. These are concepts that most people don't know about (yet!) But this is something that average people can use to improve their financial situation. Knowledge is power and the Power of Zero adds to my financial strength. Great book. I'll be giving this one away and referring people to read it, starting with my adult children.

I not only believe in this book but actively practice and teach it. David McKnight makes perfect sense and shows you how not only is it possible but reality to get to the ZERO % tax bracket. I urge you to read this and act upon it before tax rates increase in the future and eventually could double according to David Walkers, former comptroller of the US under George H. Bush and Bill Clinton

Easy read for those interested in planning their finances the best way possible. It addresses not only how much should be in emergency bucket, but also how much and why you should have only so much in qualified money. When taking distribution, he shows the most effective and tax efficient way to maximize your net income. I have recommended this book to many friends and relatives.

Great read. Finally having someone explain the benefits of the LIRP and show the comparison of fees makes it well worth the time and money. I'm so tired of those 'financial guru's' lie about the downside of life insurance, when the upsides are far greater. Zero tax is always a good place to be!

Don't even think about planning your financial future without using the concepts in this book.
If we don't plan on where things are going, we will be left behind. And where are things going? Taxes are probably going up. Especially on our retirement income withdrawals. This book is indispensable in showing us how to handle the coming storm of higher taxes.

Once again, David McKnight shows why he is the master in this tax planning specialty – he has the experience, the judgement and the foresight to distance himself from others in the field. His insightful analysis of each case demonstrates he’s in a category of his own.

I appreciate the author's handling of issues that effect the elderly. It is a travesty that the government attacks the provisional income of social security recipients after that individual has payed into a giant Ponzi scheme for at least 35 years. When will the population of the US revolt to this monetary incompetence?. When will it hold the Senate- democratially controlled to account for their criminal duplicity.
The book is helpful.
