Yuge!: 30 Years of Doonesbury on Trump

"Yuge" arrived yesterday, and my first thought was that the Preface alone was worth the price of admission, especially with the inclusion of the newspaper clip from the time.

It's amazing how consistent the man has been with his self promotion, self-serving exaggerations and attacks on those who would mock him.

The Garry Trudeau interview with Diane Rehm on NPR was icing on the cake and should be consumed with "Yuge" in hand. So to speak. Trudeau is a master with words. He actually DOES know the best words.

Funny, funny, funny. It's amazing that Gary Trudeau has been creating cartoons about Trump's behavior for 30 years.
He certainly knows him and the foibles of this character; they are truly Huge, Tremendous, Unlike anything else, The Best and The Biggest of anyone who has ever run for President of the United States or been a high rise builder in Manhattan and a Casino operator in New Jersey.
I promise you this--and you can take my word for it--you will find this completely over the top Fantastic--and good, too!

Typical Trudeau. brilliant satire so good that The Donald called him mediocre, a great compliment especially since Trudeau was awarded a Pulitzer for his work. Everyone should check in to Doomesbury every day (along with the Daily Show) to find out that's really going on in the world.

An amazing collection of Doonesbury panels about Donald Trump that was years ahead of its time in predicting his run for the presidency and his abuse of women, and his innate bigotry. It is at times so accurate it is hard to read. Since Doonesbury is no longer a daily strip it is a fitting elegy for a once great strip that cut to the heart of American life and politics.

I'd forgotten these strips from yesteryear. Reading them now is not only immenselyfunny but, it turns out, incredibly on point for the present dayTrump show. It's almost as if Trudeau had a time machine hidden in his studio.
