Thirty-five years ago Mr. Parker started a series about a guy who thought and and acted differently, and the books were fresh and clever. The thing about the books was the way the charaters thought about things, and that was expressed through dialog. By now, we all know very well how RBP's chraacters think, so there's really nothing new to say, unless we start having the characters say things that no person on earth would say. If you can sit through this without wishing that most of the protagonists would be stabbed or beaten, God bless you.

Robert Parker has perfected the art of delving deeply into his characters with a minimum of description and dialogue. His stories flow and the characters in his book seem so real! I really care about the people in these books. My friends and I discuss them as if they really exist. Very engaging and entertaining...a joy to read.

Parker's dialogues used to be clever, in this book they are boring and predictable. Kindle-version didn't cost that much, but still feel like I waisted my money and time reading it. If you hope it gets better in the end... well, it doesn't.
