This book is great for gamers, dreamers, fantasy-lovers, young folks, old folks-- anybody who's wants to turn their life around. If you want to take your life back, this book helps reverse stigmatizing mindsets that keep us in an office job for more hours than we can handle. It is relatable, conversational, an easy but sophisticated read. I read a self help book every week and this is my favorite by far!

This book really changed my life. Steve Kamb provides the tools to make real changes in our perspective on life. Figuring out what our goals really are and how to break down the steps to get there into small, manageable pieces. Steve is the example on how this works to write our life story to include happiness, fulfillment and fun.

Level Up Your Life is an absolute blast to read. It's actually hard to get through it in one sitting, but not for the reason you're probably thinking! Frankly, every few pages, I found myself having to stand up, take a big breath, do a weird Rocky-when-he-just-knocked-out-Drago spin move thing, grin like an idiot, bang out a few pushups, and furiously scribble notes in what rapidly becoming a tome that could appropriately be coined the FIELD NOTES NOTEBOOK OF EPIC ADVENTURE CHRONICLING (+4). See, Level Up Your Life is a book that not only informs and entertains, but INSPIRES.

If you're familiar with Steve's blog NerdFitness.com, you'll find a lot of familiar concepts, but it's most definitely not just a collection of his most iconic posts. Like the best superhero flicks that nod to the hardcore fanbase with winks and easter eggs, yet manage to be accessible to the uninitiated, you can tell Steve put a lot of time, effort, and love into this work, making it both a wonderful introduction to the Nerd Fitness Rebellion, as well as a synthesis and refinement of ideas he's been hammering out for years now. Longtime fans of NerdFitness and first time readers will both find this book a true joy.

I've long been fascinated with the concepts of lifehacking, lifestyle design, unconventional living, and all that, and have collected most of the works most often associated with this culture. And don't get me wrong, they're great, but I've often found my ability to focus on them wavering when I wondered if my values were aligned with the concepts. With Level Up Your Life, I feel like it was written for me and people like me; not only with the ever flowing nerd culture references, but with the vision of a life that goes beyond that of "live like a millionaire" or "escape work", a vision that dares to believe that living HEROICALLY is the ideal.

If you've ever found yourself thinking, "there's gotta be more to life than this", then you owe it to yourself to grab a copy of this book. It'll serve as a primer for everything from training, to diet, to habit building, to adventure travel, to confidence, to the power of the Heroic Journey myth-arc.

This is just a fun, informational, inspirational read. Thanks to Steve for putting it out there and sharing his vision, and I can only hope that the new fire I feel for living more and for leveling up will do it justice!

Kamb's writing is approachable and full of humor - more like a chat with a good friend who's been there than a lecture from a guru. Although he's mostly known for health and fitness advice, the lessons in this book can be applied to any area of your life. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to make changes but doesn't yet know how to get started.

This is a real guy doing extraordinary things. He'll help you get off your ass and make the most of the days you have remaining. Steve is a poignant and lovable reminder that there is a super hero in all of us. Whether you are a self-anointed nerd or just a sales guy with some geeky tendancies, this book is for you.

Awesome book. Just points out that most the reasons we don't do what we want/hope to do are hollow or unfounded. And it kind of suggests a framework you can use to end up doing the things you dream to do.

Steve Kamb's superhero name should be Captain Save-a-Hoe - 'cause that's all he's done since he began sharing his work with the world. He has such a kind and supportive way of empowering people. @Rebel_Minx salutes you, sir!

An amazing book from an amazing author. It didn't into too much more depth than his blog does already, so I had a tough time learning anything new or insightful considering I've followed him for so long. But, I loved the different tone of it.

Have you always thought there could be more to life than just working, paying the bills, and looking forward to the weekend? Steve shares his journey from desk jockey in an unfulfilling career (many of us can relate) to a happy and adventurous life as the founder of Nerd Fitness. Steve's personality shines through in his entertaining and easy to read writing style as he shares tips and experiences. Adventures are not just to be dreamed about- Steve provides the guidance needed to start your own epic quest to transform your life.

Have you ever found yourself hearing about someone else's adventures and thinking "It must be nice but I could never do that because...." Or maybe, "I really wish I could do X, but that's just too lofty of a goal," or maybe even secretly imagining a life for yourself that is just too intimidating to pursue because if you try and fail then you will definitely be unhappy, so why even start trying or admit that you want it? Level Up Your Life will leave you inspired and with a plan of action to make things happen.

Over the years, I have really enjoyed reading Steve's blog posts on NerdFitness.com which have helped me tremendously with fitness, clean eating, and thinking outside the box. I was so excited to get my hands on Level Up Your Life. Thank you Steve, for sharing this great resource. No matter where you are in your journey towards happiness (and whatever that may mean for you), you will not regret purchasing this book.

The idea of "Gamifying" life has been fun to think about. This book was an easy and thoroughly enjoyable read. I hope it was as fun to write as it was to read. The section on fear was especially poignant for me.

I've been a part of the NerdFitness community for 3 years, and have met Steve and the team personally multiple times through CNF and the NYC book launch party.

This book is a good read, and I finished it in 4 days. I will re-read it too because within each chapter of the book I've highlighted and notated several pages that have resonated with me. If you are a fan of the NF blog, this book goes beyond the blog as Steve goes more in depth with the process he's gone through to build NF, and sacrifices that have to be made in order to level up life and live up to your true potential.

I think this book is spot on, the chapters are chronicled in the correct sequence, and every step of levelling up is analyzed and broken down into further actionable steps. The Hero spotlights are really inspiring, as well as the overall book’s story. I look forward to the sequel ^.^

I really enjoyed reading this book and working through the exercises. Steve's unique way of converting traditional (and boring) self-help techniques into nerdy ideals really helped drive the lessons home. There were some minor typos, that disrupted my train of thought, but I also found myself rereading entire sections and copying passages into my notebook so that I could keep his wisdom more accessible. I also used his levelupyourlife.com web site to create my character and my quests. I haven't completed one yet, but I'm working on actively working on them now and feel I have a firm grasp of the steps I need to take to make them a reality.
