I purchased this for an online college class, so the material is great. I wanted an e-version for my laptop and the descriptions made it sound like I could access it electronically by using a code inside the text. Never found the code- wish I had bought it directly from the publishers so I could have accessed the digi version.

I am a professional who loves to continue learning. I bought this text as a self study tool. First off, it is amazing. The images are beautiful. The inclusion of architecture into the umbrella of "art" makes this text twice as timely. It covers a wide scope - but does so nicely.
BUT, be forewarned. The MyArtsLab online extension of this book requires concurrent enrollment in a university class. There is NO way to access this without the code given out by a professor, and for those of us who are using this as separate resource for self study, it makes the expense of the inclusion of the MyArtsLab useless. I could not get a refund on that portion. It is unfortunate, but in no way impacts my review of the actual text.

Stokstad did a wonderful job condensing information into readable, engaging chapters, so that when my professor gives assigned readings, I don't wanna bash my head in! =) This is the most entertaining text book I've had in college to-date!
