The Sam Prichard series started very strong with The Grave Man, then hit a speed bump with Death Sung Softly, but returns here with a most enjoyable read. David Archer has created a nice basis for the Sam Prichard character and his writing is comfortably easy. Now like all series, he must avoid becoming a predictable formula.

Wow ! A GREAT series. I received an advance copy and read it in 3 days ! Lots of action.
No spoilers here,..... but David fills you in on the characters early on in case you missed the beginning ( but NOT 1 of those series you need to buy ALL the books to understand ) and
PLENTY of twists and turns to keep you guessing ! Plus, NO foul language. I hate it when a writer THINKS he/she needs to use gutter language in order to make a character sound tough. THIS is a great book.AND at a great price so snatch it up...you WON'T be disappointed :) David puts in " just enough of a description of a scene that makes you FEEL you are right there " Very good writing . I have read the first of the series but am going back to my library to read ALL of David's books that I have. Don 't miss this GREAT read !

Received an ARC to read and write this review.
Sam and his family are in this adventure. Even Beauregard cannot be silenced. Sam shows the reader his other side as a singer, composer, and guitarist. David Archer includes a link to his newest song in the book. Written and sung by Sam?
The group 'Step Back Once' opens for a 'famous' country band and the reader is drawn in to the excitement of a fun concert.
Of course there is a death and Sam is soon involved in finding the killer while his threatened family is whisked away for vacation.
Sam always takes the reader on an exciting journey as he solves the crime. No spoilers---- don't miss this one!

Why couldn't the stories be a little longer. Seems like they build to a conclusion too soon. Have to find a way to extend the stories longer. Enjoyed the relationships that Sam had with his former police department contacts but some of the car experiences were a little far out with the speeds mentioned in congested areas. Little was said about his PI business whether it was active or was the band his prime employment. His band activities were limited after the initial band scene. All in all a good story plot but probably could have been expanded further with getting involved with the review of some of Jackie's cases and a trial for Randall Whitaker.

I loved this book. Once again David Archer has a winner. The book is very exciting and keeps you reading and guessing up to the very end. The writing style is well done and easy to read. Once I started this book, I couldn't put it down. I don't know how David gets his ideas, but I am so happy to see Sam is back. Take the time to read this book. You won't regret it and you will be hooked. Thank you David Archer and I can't wait to read the next one.

As usual David Archer leaves nothing to be desired!
A terrific read with some unpredictable twists.
Another book that you really find very hard to put down until you have finished it!
Unfortunately we will just have to wait until he gets the next lot of the
SAM PRITCHARD ADVENTURES WRITTEN!
(I will probably have to read it again to pick up some of the bits that I missed when I was trying to quickly find out who did what next)
Well done David!

Sam is back....He is supposed to be "retired" from P.I. work and concentrating on his singing career when one of his band members is accused of murder...So, he starts an investigation, then his new family is threatened, which makes him livid and even more dertimined to get to the truth...There are several twists and turns he must go through to find the truth......the minor cursing should be left out.....waiting on the next adventure.....

I have read all of the Sam Prichard Mystery books. Every one of them is a hit in my book and a "great read". The attention to detail is amazing. By this I mean David's writing includes in depth descriptive details of where the action is taking place. This ensures the reader feels like they ae actually there while the action unfolds. All Sam Prichard Mystery books have an engaging story line and superb plot development. "The Last' Song" is no exception. I just wish new books were launched more frequently, however the quality of the books makes them worth waiting for. Not to let any secrets out of the bag, but keep a watchful eye out for Beauregard. You will also enjoy David's Noah Wolf thriller books!

Love this story, series. I received an advance copy and couldn't wait to read it
An easy writing style and fast paced. I appreciate that the writing is not filled with vulgarity and sexually suggestive language; so, all can read and enjoy. Great songs, as well.

Love the Sam Pritchard character, his relationship with his wife, Indie, and Harry. This book was an easy read however it was predictable about halfway through. Maybe it's because I read so many different murder/mystery books that I can figure out the "whodunit" quickly. I still enjoyed this book immensely and look forward to reading more about Sam, Indie, Kenzie and of course Harry.

This is a great series. I received this advance copy for review and totally enjoyed Sam and his unique investigative skills. Sam and Indie are such a cute couple even though we don't get to see her as much in The Last Song. The end was a twist that I didn't see coming. Great job Mr Archer. .Please keep bringing us more Sam books.

Enjoyable !! Easy reading for a relaxing weekend. If you come at the story with a decent sense of humor you are not going to be disappointed.. Although the story line, might not be as tight as other authors,,to me the introduction of "Beauregard" is clever. In addition you get to hear some country music.

Just finished The last Song and once again you've given Sam Prichard a great adventure. This book was fast paced and full of adventure from the very beginning. Beauregard is really starting to take over Kim and I love it. I can't wait to see what adventure you come up with next.

Harry, Sam, and Indie are such a great powerhouse and kickass team. Thanks so much for the advanced copy.
Im ready for the next book!

HUGE FAN!

Sam,Indie and Beauregard get the job done. Sam is brought out of retiretirement (again) and continues in a fast pace (sometimes literally) to bring the bad guys to justice. And I think we see a 'hook' or two for future reading fun.
Page turner, Twists and turns, And more.

Soooo glad Sam is back! Enjoyed this book a great deal, although it wasn't as edgy as usual, the storyline was very good. This is a very good series and I would suggest that you get the earlier books as well. Get on the Sam wagon!
