This book read like a high school book report. Information that apparently intended to be salacious, was, instead boring and vague. I have enjoyed several Paul Coehlo stories, but this one was a waste of time.

Reads like a textbook. Although it's interesting, and based on fact, I didn't feel any emotion whatsoever during the read or for its characters.. Wished the read had more dialogue to devise strong emotions regarding the characters. I bought the book to read a tale historical fiction. Truth told, I enjoyed the historical facts behind the tale, but not the characters, all of which seemed unemotional. I didn't long to turn the pages, although I tried to.

This book is a waste of time -- read Wikipedia for the same information. The so-called facts are vague, lack detail, are redundant or refuted in the next sentence. The writing style is convoluted at best.
A Novel (The Red Sparrow Trilogy Book 3) - The Kremlin's Candidate :: Time Frame (Split Second Book 2) :: Agent in Place :: Tom Clancy Power and Empire (A Jack Ryan Novel) :: The War Planners

I have enjoyed Paul Coelho novels because of the depth and character analysis. There is none here. If this book was meant to stir some interest or affections for Mata Hari, it missed and she was left a superficial shell. A dislikeable and unpityable woman. I was not left feeling like she was a strong forebearer of us modern woman.
