Another great story. I love the way she flips from present to past and back again . I find it really makes my try harder to figure out who did it.. Also, I get quite caught up in the police person's lives.

This book is very interesting with twists and turns in the plot. After finishing this book, there is a desire to read the next one by the author.....since the reader's interest is turned to events which were not resolved in The Stranger. A good hook to make the reader find the next in the series.

Patrick and Erica continue their journey through life - solving mysteries by making a lot of connections to bring seemingly unrelated story lines together.....and uncovering new mysteries to be solved

I started out being very impressed with Camilla Lackberg's books. However, this last one, The Stranger, was not up to par with the previous three. Patrick is becoming stronger character but the entire scenario is losing steam.

Ms Lackberg has created believable characters, trying to uphold the law in a small law abiding community. She is able to catch the reader's attention and hold it to the end of the current case. As the case is solved, you can feel the relief in Patrik, his wife and the entire police station. As the reader, it is a quick search in the store for the next book. I certainly hope Patrik has a long career.

I loved all the previous Ms. Lackberg books, plot and build up to the end was unexpected, very well thought through and all in all, a great addition to the excellent Scandinavian crime genre.

At the beginning of the book, the kindle does not make any gaps in between the different paragraphs where one story part of a character ends and another starts so that's a little confusing to start off with.

However, where the author fails in this book is that it seems like Ms. Lackberg had a great idea for a story but lacked some effort and imagination to really put it captivatingly as in her previous books. I know it's only a fictitious book but in such a context (unless it's Sci-Fi or Fantasy) it should still be in a way for the reader to get into the story. Here, it was just too unbelievable and made all the characters appear foolish in a completely unthinkable fashion, given the personalities attributed to them from previous novels.

I would still continue the Hedstrom series and there is no doubt there will be more following this story; but this latest one is really a disappointing read.

This has been my favorite Camilla Lackberg book to date. The murder mystery aside, this was a wonderful take of the characters I have grown to love. I found myself smiling at the personal developments for Erica, Anna, Melberg. Great!

Although I'm a big fan of Camilla Lackberg , Gallows Bird wasn't up to the standard of the earlier 3 books which were all much better written, far better plots / better story lines , this couldn't compare to her other books, plus it was so confusing and overly wordy and it didn't make that much sense. I'll still read Camilla Lackberg, just that this book wasn't as good as the earlier 3 books in the series, but I have great hope for Book # 5.This book , number 4 could be missed, read 1, 2, 3, and start again with 5.
