Not my favorite Palahnuik novel but it was an interesting read. As I got further into the story I started to like the main character Madison and even found myself relating to her struggles with body image, acceptance, and trying to discover who you are with everyone telling you what you're supposed to be. I think the best characters are the ones you wonder and think about after you finish the book.

This was definitely a strange book but I liked it a lot. The scenes of hell are everything disgusting and gross in this world put into hell. This is a satire and really shows it as all of the book is far fetched, but it is done in a way that you begin to see it as true. THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR ALL. But if u like a good imaginative read, check it out. Can't wait to read the next one

My favorite Chuck book is still "Invisible Monsters," but I found myself relating to the main character in this book. She had a sort of Holden Caulfield quality to her and I enjoyed the sarcasm, wit, and Breakfast Club references.

Chuck does a great job of capturing the thoughts and feelings of a 13 year old girl. 'Damned' is a very entertaining satire of Hell with great descriptions that force you to visualize the disgusting filthiness.

After reading the reviews I was scared to read this book... I am glad I did. Reminds me of the same writing style as Diary. Definitely worth the read. If you like the cynical writing that he does you'll enjoy this one.

Good story that answer in a funny way questions like ¿what are the job opportunities at hell? ¿what make's us deserve a trip to the underworld?.
If you liked the movie The Breakfast Club, you would love this book, it has an explicit intertext with it.
Might not been a life changing book, but it's entertaining fiction material, anyway.

This is the first Chuck Palahniuk book I have read and found it quite enjoyable. Not only was his idea of Hell creative, avoiding Dante' s overly used view of Hell. Madison was the rare character combination of intelligent and relatable. This book exceeded my expectations ten fold.

Always been a huge fan of Chuck, ever since Fight club and Choke. Many people kinda dogged this book but i thought it was one of his best and didnt fall short of the imaginative bar that Chuck has always raised, He put a very believeable and at times very comedic spin on the depths of hell and all i know is if there is a hell, i would hope it was like this, the good and the bad, would be better than burning the rest of eternity :) i would def reccomend this book to anyone wanting an amazing read.

When I first found this book (being a longtime Palahnuik fan), I was worried that it would be childish due to the narrators young age. Fortunately I was wrong. I couldn't have thought as a better narrator for a story about hell than an adolescent girl. The fantastical elements are enticing and oddly relatable.

It's my first Palahniuk book and came highly recommended from a friend who also has the same bent/warped sense of humor. Its a quick read, even stopping look up the definition of some words (yay! kindle!).

In typical Palahniuk fashion this book both makes you laugh and feel like killing yourself or those around you all with a big smile on your face. The book is a complete rollercoaster throughout and it's a great setup for a series. Can't wait for the followup!
