enjoyed this book tremendously, however the author sneakiness leaves us in the lurch at the end. How did I get myself in this situation? This is not in paperback publication yet and now I have to wait for the next installment Emily meets a new coworker of her father at their leatherworking shop. She doesn't understand at first that he is nursing a new hurt as well as an ongoing grief. She has a tender heart and goes ahead to make him her friend.
This was a very interesting insight into Amish courting practices I have read lots of Amish books but this taught me things I didn't know before. I would recommend also reading the prior books to fill in background information, I didn't going back to do it now. .
I was provided an advance ecopy through NetGalley in return for an honest opinion

The Cherished Quilt is part of the Amish Heirloom novels by author Amy Clipston. I've read all of Ms. Clipston's Amish fiction books, and always enjoy them. The Cherished Quilt was no exception. My heart broke for Christopher, who blames himself for his brother's death. His father also blames him, which drove Chris to leave home and relocate to his Uncles home and shop in Pennsylvania. Emily and Christopher quickly begin to have feelings for each other, but Chris just can't escape the extreme guilt. Can he forgive himself so that he and Emily can have a life together? I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Amy Clipston has done it again and written a book worthy
of an evening in your favorite pajamas with a nice hot cup of cocoa and wrapped in your favorite blanket. This is such a sweet storyline and so well written the characters spring to life from the pages. Through loss and struggles love is found. As the story unravels the reader will travel along through the highs and lows as a relationship develops between the two main characters Emily and Chris. Grab a Kleenex as I felt myself so drawn into the story I felt tears spring to my eyes. This is a must read!

I loved The Cherished Quilt. I really enjoy Amy Clipston's style of writing. This book along with most of her others are super easy to read and have well developed characters.
This story was really heartwarming and is just the sort of story I love reading. I can pick it up a day or two later if time gets away from me, and the charaters and story are so memorable that its easy to remember where you left off.

I really enjoyed this book by Amy Clipston. It was a clean, sweet Amish romance with lots of emotion. When Emily first meets Chris, he is anything but friendly. He is filled with memories of the life he left behind in Ohio. As they become friends, Emily learns some of the hurt in Chris' heart and begins to make him a quilt. As things happen in Chris' family, he suddenly leaves without even a good bye. Emily is crushed and wonders what she has done wrong.
I think this book was really a good one and well written. And at the end there is yet another cliff hanger! For sure I will be reading the next book in the series.

The Cherished Quilt is a lovely, heartfelt story! With imagery and emotion, Amy Clipston skillfully brings her characters and their community to life, and I loved spending time in Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania.
Themes of guilt and grief are finely woven through Emily and Christopher’s story, but their journey is also filled with hope and healing. It was such a pleasure to watch their relationship grow and blossom! I thoroughly enjoyed The Cherished Quilt and look forward to continuing the Amish Heirloom series.

The Cherished Quilt is the third and newest book in Amy Clipston's The Amish Heirloom Series. Set in Bird-in-Hand, Lancaster County,Pennsylvania, which is about 50 miles from my home, this warm story is sure to please.
It did not matter that I had not read the first two books in the series. Ms. Clipston immediately introduces the reader to Christopher Hochstetler, the main character in this book. Chris is a young man from Ohio struggling with grief and guilt after an accident kills his younger brother. He travels to Pennsylvania to work in his uncle's leather shop, hoping the change in his surroundings and distance from his father, who has always expected him to take over the family horse farm, will help him deal with his brother's sudden death and, perhaps, find his place in the world. Chris doesn't have the same affinity for training horses as his older brother, who is a successful horse farmer himself, a fact that causes constant friction between father and son.
As Chris is reacquainted with his Aunt and Uncle and meets Leroy, his uncle's partner, and his family, the reader meets them also. As Chris gets to know them and they get to know him, the reader does too. And when Chris and Emily, Leroy's youngest daughter, embark on a friendship neither had expected, the reader smiles.
I found this book well written and the characters well developed. The story moves along nicely with a few unexpected twists and turns. You might find yourself learning a bit of Pennsylvania Dutch, with several frequently used words popping up in the dialog. Many of the words I recognized, coming from the area I do, but there is a handy glossary in the book for the reader who may occasionally need a translation.
As this story of Christopher Hochstetler comes to a close, the discovery of a hidden document in the family hope chest sets up the premise for the 4th book in the series, The Beloved Hope Chest, which is scheduled for release in May 2017.
Thank you, Amy Clipston, for a wunderbaar book that even an Englisher will enjoy.

I loved this book by Amy Clipston!!! She keeps you so enthralled in the story that you will barely be able to put it down! It had me laughing, crying tears of joy, and tears of sadness. She brings the characters to life and you feel as if you were really there as a fly on the wall. You will feel their heartaches, and tears, and then you will feel their peace and joy in the Lord too. I give high praises for Amy's third book in this series, and I cannot wait to get on to the 4th! Happy reading!

I really enjoy reading books about Amish families. The simplicity of their lives fascinates me and how they deal with the same problems we all do.
This was a really good read - obviously part of a series which I'll be more than happy to read in future (when I catch up with my ever lengthening tbr list).
A troubled young man who has to work out things with .his family and a young woman who dotes on him .. a truly lovely young romance and one which I have no hesitation in recommending to lovers of a good, clean read.

THE CHERISHED QUILT by Amy Clipston. Is a definite winner again for Amy and her books on the Amish, and how to deal with a trouble soul. Emily's father is part owner of a harness shop, and they have a new employe, He is not of there church and very cold with his attitude, having lost someone he loved. Emily as a gesture of friendship makes him a quilt. Will Christopher accept, and start to heal. Another delightful book, of helping others.Given book by Thomas Nelson, for my voluntary review and my honest opinion I have given.

I received this book for an honest review from the Fiction Guild. What a wonderful continuation of the story. This story brings all of the characters from Bird in Hand's 2 wonderful families and their youngest daughter trying to find her beau. She has such a giving heart and looks out for everyone else before she considers what she need. Her father's business partner's nephew Chris is coming to work with them in the Harness Shop and his first day he seems so lost. Emily decides that Christ needs a friend and tries very hard to do that. He finds that she is what he needs to heal himself and she finds the friend that she knows will one day become her future husband. There are just a few hiccups along the one being Chris needs to mend fences with his father and he lives in OH. I love this story and can't wait to read the 3 book in this series.

Another great book from Amy Clipston! Finally, we get to hear about Emily's story in book 3 of the series. This is the sister who is the youngest but has always been the steadfast positive sister in the family. Always there for her sisters and those in need of a friend. She tries to befriend her father's newest employee Christopher Hostettler by greeting him his first day there. Even though he treats her coldly and at a distance will his heart change when she listens to him, feeds him through meals, and advises him on the love and forgiveness of God? Read the book to find out.

Absolutely loved this book. I have read and enjoyed the first two books in this series but this one was my favorite. The relationship between Chris and Emily keeps the story filled with emotion as there is much heartache and joy. This book reminds us of the importance of forgiveness of others and of ourselves- -and how God can help us to accomplish both. Love the characters, each plays a contributing part to the story. Just a great book that you won't want to put down and will be sad when it's finished! Well written and another wonderful story from Amy!

I really enjoyed this story of friendship and new beginnings. As a quilter I liked how the author used a quilt to show love, friendship, patience and faith to mend hearts and put the our life's pieces back together. I liked this gentle friendship that became more. I was gifted a copy and my review is voluntary.

The third book of an Amish Heirloom was another great read...just like the first two. God works in mysterious ways. Emily is a precious young lady that is always thinking of others instead of herself. She never gave up on Christopher Hostettler but got to know him. She made him a quilt that touched him immensely. I can't wait to read Amy's fourth Amish Heirloom Novel - The Beloved Hope Chest.

A good story. Tragedy tears Christopher's world apart so he goes to family in Bird-in-Hand. Will Emily be able to help him move past his grief and work thru his baggage. Will they be able to stitch together a new beginning?
