This book is very interesting to read, is different from other's book and is based on a true lives from four Chinese mothers and their four daughter's. I strongly recommend to read and after that there also a free movie online to watch. Moreover, the seller send the book on time and in good conditions.

Excellent work. Beautiful, fully fleshed out characters, real struggles, and incredible stories of recollection. The power of female relationships and memory are so prominent, and everything connects subtly and naturally.

This is a timeless and universal story of mothers and daughters--with lots of Chinese wisdom and folklore sprinkled in. In particular, it is the story of four mothers and four daughters. Each of the eight women is a fully-developed character, with each new chapter switching to a different character. While it's a little tricky keeping track of who's who and who belongs to who (the Kindle X-ray feature is a HUGE help with this), the book is riveting. The relationships and stories of the eight women are intricate but captivating. The four mothers were all born in China and immigrated to the United States under heartbreaking circumstances. The four daughters were all born in the United States. It's a tale of tradition vs. modernism, of long-ingrained custom vs. societal change, of Chinese heritage vs. becoming American. Amy Tan's "The Joy Luck Club" captured my heart and wouldn't let go.

I really love this book. Especially the book is no damage, is complete a perfect book. Those stories are really interesting, I would like to say this is the best book I had ever read. The outward give me a attractive to read the whole book :)))

an awesome book, especially for immigrants or first gen americans like me. i read it first as a class project, theres a ton of symbolism and metaphors, but you can read it without analysing too :) i got it for my mom, because i knew she'd understand. you dont have to be from china to understand it. its hard to name, you know? too hard to explain just read :)
