Review:Early in Eating Meat, Foer shares an anecdote of his starving Jewish grandmother, fleeing the Nazis and offered pork by a kind peasant. She is dying of starvation but rejects the pork, explaining, "If nothing matters, there's nothing to save." Review:One star is for the one quote in the book that for me was enlightening and memorable:
"It's the most basic, essential, beginning stories that so much of our lives are written. Who loved you best? What made you finally believe in yourself? From what garden or pot or crack in the pavement did you grow? How did you get your water?"

What Mr. Waldron does very well compared to other authors on this subject is supply many reasons why various officials and government agencies withheld so much useful information for so long.

Review:I am a great admirer of Dawkins and his lucid writing, but was curious to see wether this applied to writing for youngsters (having a 15 year old grandson). Happily this turned out to be the case. A minor point: as a MD I thought the medical part a little bit weak. Read more
Review:What can you say but bravo to Dawkins for his clear and precise facts on evolution from the genetic evidence,DNA,fossils etc. This book goes in to the detective work of evolution unlike other books this tells you the facts and presents the evidence to back it up.
