Supernatural
Review:I love Kelley Armstrong and if you are familiar with her writing style you will not be disappointed. I wasn't even half way through this book before I had ordered the rest of the series that was out. I waited very impatiently for the final book to be released and it just arrived today so I'm super excited. This book is a twisting turning series that will have you captivated from page one. The characters are well developed and pretty much all of the questions you will have get answered either in ... Read more
Review:Damned fine read. Spoiler alert.
This one starts with Mike Raven. He and his partner Skulick, a man who lost the use of his legs when a ghost had dropped him out of a third story window. He had lived but was now a prisoner in a wheelchair. Skulick, like Raven, is a man of action. He'd been fighting the supernatural for twenty years.
Skulick had been a mentor to Mike when both of his parents were killed by a demon. He had been friend, mentor and partner since that day twenty one yea... Read more
Review:I read this book in one sitting and was enthralled the entire time. Haunting Charlie is entertaining, fast-paced, and a great read for those who like to read paranormal mysteries. I can’t wait to continue with the series. Read more
Review:I swear, Jodi Picoult is a magic story weaver! I am so impressed with this novel and the fact that it completely surpassed my expectations, especially after reading the stellar Plain Truth. Salem Falls is so juicy and exciting, an intoxicating cocktail of everything I love in a suspensful, page-turning drama. And even though I had a strong hunch about the book's ending, it was no less exhilarating to watch it unfold.
Salem Falls tells the story of Jack St. Bride, a former teacher who, acco... Read more
Review:In this fourth Anita Blake novel our heroine no longer bears the marks of Jean-Claude or any other master vampire and is exploring a relationship with Richard, the middle school teacher. Of course there are problems: Richard is a werewolf whose pack leader is threatening to kill him, Jean-Claude will not take "no" for an answer and has a female vampire who wants to kill Anita, and Dolph wants help identifying the something that is killing lycanthropes (shapeshifters). "The Lunatic Cafe" is the... Read more
Review:I was so relieved to read the other reviews...I thought I had turned into a prude. I am so tired of a book of sex. I started reading Anita Blake when it first came out. I LOVED the storylines and the plots and the twists and the characters. I devoured every book and couldn't wait for the next and could read the old ones over and over.
There are no storylines anymore just Anita sleeping with whomever happens to be around.
My teen-ager started reading Anita when she was 15 and lo... Read more
Review:I could not put this book down. This series just keeps getting better and better. Yes, the sex is pretty graphic, but graphic writing is one of the things that hooks you into this series. I find it interesting that the people who complain about the detailed descriptions of sex have no complaints about the equally detailed descriptions of mutilated corpses and rotting vampires. Think about it. Anita's powers do keep growing, but they aren't just falling out of the sky: they can all be trac... Read more
Review:Unbelievable, but same as Greg (who is the other who wrote a review, and he read it in the same month), I found this book in a corner of my father's in law house, I read it and it was a wonderful reading, it was printed in 1974 and is a very good book, if you see it at your parents house just read it, you will enjoy it. Review:In the space of 1 novel, Anita Blake crossed over from being a very fun rip-off of some of the better pulp fiction styles with several interesting twists to an over-the-top character better designed for a cartoon novella than 300 pages of prose. I liked her better when she was actually trying to do one of her several jobs, rather than spending an entire novel letting the men get all the action--both literally and figuratively.
What saves this book: (1) The development of Richard's intern... Read more
Review:This installment of Anita Blake finds her focused on her primary job as an Animator. Anita is contracted for a raising of the dead to settle a property dispute in the Ozark mountains. While in the area, Anita is called in to advise on a preternatural killing. Unfortunately, the cop in charge is a woman with a chip on her shoulder the size of Alaska, and she does not want anyone interfering with her investigation.
To make matters worse, the age of the bodies is about another hundred years b... Read more
