Jackaby
Jackaby

Review:There were two reason why I choose this book. First I like period pieces and this book is set back the mid 1800. Second, I enjoy opening my mind to other ways of viewing things, and Jackaby definitely sees things differently. It was a fast read and kept me engaged. I would recommended it to people who enjoy reading fantasies and mysteries. Read more

Lockwood & Co., Book 2: The Whispering Skull
Lockwood & Co., Book 2: The Whispering Skull

Review:I just finished this and am surprised by the ending! Good thing I have the third one on hand. Anyway, Lockwood and Co have yet another kooky, mind-baffling mystery to solve. There were some parts that lagged (i.e., Kipps and his gang, although it was probably good Lockwood worked with them...I can see them as potential allies down the road, however annoying they may be). The antagonist ghost was more annoying than creepy. In fact, I think this one is not as scary as the first or maybe I was just... Read more

Things Not Seen
Things Not Seen

Review:Things Not Seen is a compelling, interesting, and imaginative story about the idea of becoming invisible. The story is told from the eyes of a teenage boy, Bobby, who wakes up one day to find that he is invisible. The story follows his struggle of dealing with everyday life being invisible and trying to figure out the cause of his mysterious invisibility. Along the way he meets a blind girl, Alicia, who becomes a friend and is the only one understands Bobby.

Having read many Andrew Clemen... Read more

Secret Prey: Lucas Davenport, Book 9

Hidden Prey: Prey
Hidden Prey: Prey

Review:This is the second time reading this book & it is excellent. I love John Sandford's books & will continue to read the Prey books for the second time. Lucas got hurt a couple of times in this story & he doesn't take that well. He is so funny & brave & silly sometimes. Weather is usually a pain. She is much too bossy & dumb. I wish he wasn't married or was married to someone else. I guess it takes someone as hard & opinionated to handle him - I would believe that... Read more

Mind Prey: A Lucas Davenport Novel
Mind Prey: A Lucas Davenport Novel

Review:This novel is not for everyone. I enjoyed reading it but some of the subject matter might be offensive for people with wives and kids. Some times I think crime novelist must cull through the case files to garner ideas for their books. All in all this is an average read. Read more

Chosen Prey
Chosen Prey

Review:I've followed Lucas Davenport and his exploits since "Rules" and it is still one of the best series around. Sandford keeps his characters interesting and real. I'm looking forward to seeing where Lucas' new assignment lands him and his co-workers. I recommend this series to anyone who likes a good read. Read more
