The Aeneid
The Aeneid

Review:Any translation of The Aeneid is an epic undertaking, so our response to it, given the tradeoffs inherent in converting Virgil's high Latin into another language, ought to be at least respectful, and moreover measured by appropriate sensitivity to the translator's purpose. And here, Robert Fagles has set out to convey the material to a modern, English-speaking audience, and he succeeds with a highly readable combination of fidelity and verve.

That's the good news. The bad news is that Fa... Read more

Frankenstein, Book Five: The Dead Town
Frankenstein, Book Five: The Dead Town

Review:This story dragged on way too long; it should have been over in New Orleans at the dump. The last 4 books never rivaled the very first and even though I was hooked, it never really deliverd the goods. Way too much detail about every time a builder took a new victim, bored with that part beyond all sense of reasoning. I guess I was hoping in some way the author would salvage the series with his finale, but it never really reached any kind of climactic peak. Hope the next sory he does is better. Read more

Frankenstein: City of Night
Frankenstein: City of Night

Review:This series by Dean Koontz is great. He has taken Frankenstein to a whole new level. The monster has become a savior, but now he has friends on his side who are, as my uncle used to say "Bad to the Bone." Read more

The X-Club: A Krinar Story
The X-Club: A Krinar Story

Review:Anna Zaires does it again with this novella based on her gripping Krinar Chronicles series. This short work is a great edition to her series, drawing you into the world of the K's...who are the Krinar, how did they take over the planet, why are they so irresistible to women. I loved this book! If you want a gripping and sexual release grab this book for sure, you will not be disappointed. I love the dominating style of her writing! Makes you love the male characters and want to be the females... Read more

Notes From The Underground
Notes From The Underground

Review:A fascinating view into a wretched little man's mind, albeit one that feels very real and alive. Perhaps many of us have bits of this wretchedness within us. I am lucky due to the circumstances of my development to not suffer envy, but I do recognise other unpleasant aspects of this man in me. For instance, the tendency to observe people and decide I'd really rather not interact with 99% of them, and then lament my own isolation and solitude. The underground man's tirade on irrationality, choice... Read more

Porn Star

Review:P*rn Star by Laurelin Paige and Sierra Simone was outright fun, sexy, and steamy. I love that Ms. Paige and Ms. Simone were able to make an unconventional romance so deliciously sexy and fun while giving readers a fun playful spin on what it is like to be in the adult entertainment. So if you are looking for a book that p%rntastic and had every elements of a love story but with with a p*rn twist then this book is for you.

The Striker: An Isaac Bell Adventure, Book 6

Review:Another excellent Isaac Bell story! This book takes you back to when Isaac is still a rookie, on the first investigation in which he takes the lead. I thought it was better than "The Wrecker" and "The Chase" both of which I had placed tops in the series until now. Read more

Psycho II: The Psycho Trilogy, Book 2
Psycho II: The Psycho Trilogy, Book 2

Review:Suspenseful and well-worth the read from the very first page. Definitely for those who enjoy reading horror novels or watching such movies. Psycho follows many of the themes of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, including personality duality and isolation from mainstream society. Also, Bloch's syntax and diction are engaging throughout, making an already exhilarating, fast-paced plot even harder to put down and save for later. Having never read or watched anything like Psycho, I would definitely recomm... Read more
